I agree that Rafael Benitez is tactically better and that Robbie was going to go anyway. The point is - Why bother giving Robbie the job in the summer if they will pull the trigger at the slightest twich?

- We lose to West Brom 2-1. - Juventus take us for a dump in Turin - di Matteo is fired - Fat Spanish Waiter takes charge - Clattenburg wins racism case - Chelsea the villains again - Lampard and Cole all but confirmed to be leaving Can't agree more. Worst week in our History But, things can't get worse on Sunday can it? Chelsea to beat ManC. It's football. Shit happens

the transfer policy is completely out of the manager's hands. even under mourinho, i always felt that shevchencko was more of a Roman-signing than Jose's. Except Scolari, who made a few of his Own signings - Deco, Bosingwa, all the other managers were puppet-stringed in the transfer market. Remember AVB - "de Bruyne was more of a club signing" Benitez will be no different. As he said, he will focus on Coaching the team. Emenalo, Gourlay and co. will be looking after transfers. i believe that's where we've got it all wrong. the manager should look at his team and think what's needed and what's not. not the executives.the manager will be the one with inside knowledge of the team and he should be given total control of transfers. well not under Rafa but from the summer onwards

the one good thing out of this train-wreck of a week is that Benitez will bring something new to the table. Fresh ideas, new formation etc will put a spring in the players' step. The New-Manager Honeymoon period should work in favour of us. Plus, our players are used to this. They have been there and gone through the motions of a managerial change that they should adapt to Benitez easily. Weirdly confident about this one
-
City don't seem confident. I think it'll be one of those weird nights when everybody expects a City win but we sneak a goal in and defend it. As much as I loathe the Fat Waiter, i hope the best for the club

still not convinced that this move was necessary now. the overall objective of the season was to get back in the top 4 right? why then, go out and sack di matteo barely 3 months into the season and replace him with Rafa Benitez who averaged 13 signings a season and drove Liverpool to the ground. If it was Pep coming in, it makes some sense atleast but he's still whiling his days away at New York. We'll see how this plays out but I have to say, it would take One hell of a 6 months to make me accept Rafa

what will the Fan Trust Organisation exactly do? What is the purpose? Do you have a rough outline to go on?@robdog,
-
Also can someone clarify the situation with Eva and the rest of the backroom staff?

Not the right time to post. I agree with your point of view but after what happened today, you should expect some extreme reactions. utterly unexpected and a bit of a daft decision really. post this if fans still call for his head next week. right now, anything said against Roman is out of sheer frustration and nothing else
-
Rafa Benitez, Avram Grant, Harry Redknapp , , where does that leave us in terms of candidates? Pep Guardiola
-
ffs. when did i question you? when did i say you are a glory hunter? . don't know you don't care either. i am questioning your decision to defend Roman at this time
-
regardless of who the manager was. focus on the bigger issue here. ranieri/mourinho signed the players using roman's MONEY and built the club. no point defending roman now of all times. we all know he is passionate and all that but reminding that now is just plain useless. why even bother giving the job to di matteo if he's going to press the trigger at the slightest twitch? can't argue with that. daft nonsense from roman and the board.
-
Money and the Mourinho revolution made you a Chelsea fan. Not Roman. Anyone else with that much money and the obvious logical sense to cash in on Jose would do the same for us. I am not going to the extent that he should be slated but this is just too extreme. if rafa benitez or harry redknapp come in, fml

Forget the ridiculous Disgrace this has become Salute a real Blue blood for transforming a group of rag-tag footballers and winning THE Champions League in the most amazing fashion to save the season and the club's immediate future. Thank You RDM, for winning us our 7th FA Cup and for revitalising the squad over the summer. Thank You for changing the way we play and taking us upward in the footballing hierarchy. Stamford Bridge will always remember you fondly
-
Fuck You Roman! Fuck you! should Have let di matteo build us this season and secure a friggin 3rd place. Guardiola/ Mourinho can come in the summer. If Rafa Benitez becomes Chelsea manager, I will call for Roman's head!

good thing i'm in india then. one thing good around here is that my place is green and technology is not as developed as the West. still have a good time hanging out with my friends
-
probably. both played poor on saturday. couldn't handle Shane Long at all. i think Azpilicueta should continue at Right-Back and Ivanovic should play Central Defence till Terry returns
-
i think its fair. Luiz has been worse recently. Cahill was excellent against ManU - LC, Swansea - alongside Iva and against Liverpool - alongside Iva again. Not blaming Luiz but you see, Luiz's mistakes are directly costing the club points. Plus, the worst thing is they are completely Avoidable. can't excuse Luiz now. i always thought he would transform into a solid defender in the future but 2 years on from signing, i don't think that will ever happen. Luiz makes mistakes even when he has a good game. against Newcastle earlier in the season, he blindly tried to play his way out of trouble and was robbed off possession. Had Papiss Cisse scored, fans would have said Luiz was poor etc. He didnt score and it became a minor blotch in an otherwise good game. All these errors are simply that much more frustrating than Cahill. Plus, Luiz is First Choice defender (a pathetic one at that) and Cahill is a squad rotation player who's exceeding expectations
-
Cahill was poor. Not particularly solid and uncomfortable with Luiz. total defensive breakdown at times. Long and Morrison were incisive in their link-up. David Luiz was also poor. But that's what i expect out of him now. Any decent centre forward can turn him inside out and his lapses of concentration is costing the club points. no point defending his ability if he keeps making mistakes EVERY single game
-
terry-Luiz hasn't been tested enough to say that they are "solid" and cahill-luiz is just codswallop. we need to have a stable partnership at the back. i believe the chopping and changing has also affected the defence. it's not just luiz. luiz has made basic errors but none of the partnerships in defence is actually good. we need a good defender and soon.
-
without luiz, the back Four has defended as unit. we barely let in a shot on target until Suarez corner goal and the 2 cb's were excellent handling the pace of the Swansea attackers. rather unfortunate that they have no clean-sheets to show for the 2 performances nonetheless , the defensive work has been great these last two games
-
The thing with luiz, he has better potential than all our other defenders but at the same time he should be solid whenever he plays. yes, he wins the ball back and all that but his ratio of winning the ball back to making a rash challenge is still high. everyone thought that by now, he would have settled and transformed into a solid Ball-Winning centre-back but sadly the basic errors still undo all the work he puts in
-
nah. Wigan, Stoke, QPR are hardly a challenge. Luiz-Terry did not play against Newcastle, our first tough game and made errors against Arsenal - dropped way too deep for the Gervinho goal. Swansea away and Liverpool home are far tougher and Ivan-Cahill and Terry-Iva, Cahill-Ivan were very solid. we defended as a unit
-
Notice how the defence in the last two games has been markedly better with no Luiz there. Luiz should sit out a couple of games and should know that his place in the team is not a given. As for the amigos, I'd bring in Moses for one of the amigos. that's all. maybe use Marin late on for Hazard and keep people fresh for the Juve trip
