  1. To me Mourinho is more than just another rival manager. Nothing embarassing when the thread existed before he returned to the club
  2. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/04/diego-costa-100-staying-at-chelsea-to-be-part-of-new-chelsea-rev/ Costa staying according to Matt Law
  3. Finally Antonio Conte - Chelsea manager
  4. Who would you prefer if you had to pick one? Kante or Radja? I'd prefer Radja
  5. Begovic is homegrown. Not in favour of losing a homegrown player
  6. Close to joining Juventus. Don't think this means Bonucci is leaving. Juve play 3 defenders and recently released Martin Caceres.
  7. Keep Diego Costa. Selling Costa and buying Batshuayi and Morata(?) Lukaku (?) Higuain (?) not only weakens the squad but does so with a net loss of 50 million. No brainer for me that the club should do all they can to keep Costa. All the talk of not wanting an unhappy player at the club, here's the thing - Conte is yet to work with Costa. If, Costa still wants out next summer, then I'd consider selling him but selling a striker in his prime who is performing well after the season we have just had. Plain stupidity
  8. Oh no. The option to buy him expires today
  9. We will likely spend over 50million (conservative estimate) on two strikers should Costa leave. Unnecessary imo There are several positions where we need an upgrade. Striker is not one of them. Costa is a perfectly good striker to lead the team and signing Batshuayi and whoever else will weaken the squad. I'm not for a change
  10. BBC and Sky rarely get it wrong. But it is besides the point. It makes no sense to sell Costa and replace him with Batshuayi (and probably another expensive striker). The club should retain him. Costa is yet to work under Conte, I doubt he's unhappy about the new setup at the club
  11. Atletico wants him doesn't mean he is unhappy here. Yet to find a reliable outlet reporting that he wants out.
  12. All very very expensive and none really an upgrade. Keep Costa
  13. I disagree. Replacing Costa with an unproven Batshuayi (and maybe a new striker) doesn't make sense. Costa, at 27, is naturally to be the senior striker in the team. He is in his prime, playing well and with two years of experience in the Premier League. He's said nothing that suggests he wants to leave and is by all accounts happy at Chelsea. I actually think Costa and Conte will be a perfect match.
  14. It's been years since we had two top strikers at their peak at Chelsea going back all the way to the Drogba-Anelka days. I remember 2012-13 when we went with just Torres as the striking option at the club. (Sturridge was used on the wing) and then in 2013-14 having to endure the season of Torres Ba and Etoó. I am hopeful that Batshuayi is signed as competition to Costa rather than as a replacement because replacing Costa with him is making the squad weaker than it is, which is the last thing we need at the moment.
  15. Irish.. Left Back. Probably Home-Grown. Cheaper Ricardo Rodriguez Irish Aaron Cresswell. Sign him up
  16. It's a reasonable bid. The fans, by character, are impatient but its good to hear Chelsea is still negotiating a deal for Radja
  17. He reminds me of Damien Duff
  18. http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2016/6/14/11930774/antonio-conte-bbc-intro-chelsea-italy-belgium Video hype for Conte. Nothing like cut-in interviews mixed with memorable quotes to hype someone
  19. Hahaha. Sign Steven Fletcher from Wolves. Good days on the forum.
  20. The real Steven Fletcher is a free agent. Sign him up
