Guardiola has been found out...
-
It's not just the journalists, it's the pundits as well. Even people like Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher etc are playing it safe when it comes to criticizing Mourinho and Man United.

Ivanovic in for Luiz.

When will he ever learn that all the constant crying and moaning will not get him those lost points?

Antonio Conte always wanted to build Chelsea around 'off-form' Eden Hazard

TBF, United did dominate Zorya, as FB has said. It's just that they didn't create many clear opportunities - their play was pretty ordinary - and it took until a moment of brilliance from Mkhitaryan to break the deadlock. I know we all criticize Mourinho these days but TBF, he was really good between 2004 and 2010. 'Worse' is the wrong word to describe the Premier League back then. It still has its qualities during those days (remember how the English teams always reach the semi finals and finals in UCL?) but it's just less competitive when you compare it to now. Football has changed from that period, but sadly, Mourinho hasn't changed.

This doesn't bode well for Sunday...

It's amusing that the only time Mourinho has been able to blow his trumpet this season is after United win a Europa League game. And his latest stance is that no one has been playing better than them in their last few matches. For someone who usually cares more about results than performances, he sure has moaned a lot about how his team's performances have not produced the results.
-
It's amusing how often he moaned about we didn't deserve to lose last season on the basis of a good 10-15 minutes spell in second half of matches.
-
Even then, I don't think you can really afford 'passenger' in the team unless he's contributing massively in attack. Otherwise, Fabregas would have played a lot more than he has (granted his injury hasn't helped but yeah) under Conte.

I don't dispute that last paragraph but on the other hand, it feels as though Guardiola's trying to be too smart for his own good, almost as if he's trying to show off his tactical brain by constantly changing formations and playing players in 'alien' positions. Trying to make his team unpredictable is one thing but if his style of play is good - which it is - and he has good players - which he does at City - then he doesn't need to come up with like a new system every week. Just find one or two and settle for that, at least till the players totally understand everything before coming up with something new, and trust it along with the players to make it work and get the results.

Chill Mana. He has been taken out of the equation.
-
Mourinho is seriously delusional. He seems convinced that he should have won every game. Saw his comments earlier and he was moaning how United shouldn't have lost at Feyenoord, Fenerbahce etc because they had the game under control bla bla bla.
-
Pretty sure he only wanted to go to Barcelona then. The bigger question is, why didn't we try to sign from Barcelona few years ago?
-
Agree but Guardiola isn't helping himself by constantly tinkering his formations and players. He clearly doesn't have the same quality players at City like he did at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and the least he could do while implementing his style of play is stop over-complicating things. He never tinkered much at Barcelona but started to at Bayern and while I understand his reasoning to make his teams less predictable with the tinkering, he is really taking things way too extreme.

Huh? West Ham scored first in that game.
-
Depth is one thing but quality is another. We still don't know whether Christensen, Zouma and Ake are capable of playing in the back 3, both physically and tactically. And will those 6 players be good enough to help us challenge the Premier League and Champions League in the long run? I have my doubts.
-
Gotta feel sorry for Stones in some ways. Played for a manager who didn't bother about the defensive side of things at Everton and now playing for another similar one at Man City and even worse is his manager likes to over-complicate things. Can't be good for someone who's still young and trying to develop his game.

Looking like scoring is one thing, but creating chances to actually score is another and what Spurs did was the former. Majority of their shots came from distance and they never opened us up like City did last weekend. The only time I remember them getting behind our defence was when Kane (or was that Dele Alli?) got through to set up Eriksen's chance at the near post.
