  1. Spurs could have scored 2nd? Did they even create any clear cut chance to go 2-0 up in that game? Regarding United, we can all talk about luck but it's not just 1 game we're talking here. It's like 4-5 games in a row. If they can't win those games, even after dominating, then there's clearly a bigger issue than just luck. If you look through that United squad, apart from Ibrahimovic, there's hardly anyone else who can contribute goals on a regular basis and IMO, for a club like United to be relying on a 35-year-old as their main striker and to get the goals, regardless of whether he's good or not, is just poor management.
  2. United's board don't have a clue, do they? Said it before, the club have been a mess ever since Fergie retired, both on and off the pitch.
  3. At this point, I'm going to say Kenedy and Baba Rahman are overhyped and overrated. Neither has done much to have us go 'wow, he's good!'.
  4. The 3rd round game will be played between Jan 6-9. So our games from early Jan to early Feb will be: Jan 4 (Wed) - Spurs (a) Jan 6-9 (Fri-Mon) - Peterborough/Notts County (h) Jan 14 (Sat) - Leicester (a) Jan 22 (Sun) - Hull (h) Jan 27-30 (Fri-Mon) - FA Cup 4th Round Jan 31 (Tue) - Liverpool (a) Feb 4 (Sat) - Arsenal (h)
  5. Selected/Notable FA Cup 3rd Round Ties: Man United v Reading West Ham v Man City Chelsea v Peterborough/Notts County Everton v Leicester Liverpool v Newport/Plymouth Preston North End v Arsenal Spurs v Aston Villa
  6. Peterborough or Notts County at home in the FA Cup third round.
  7. Regarding that Spurs game, yes we played badly in the first half and they played well but did they really create any good opportunities to, say, go 2-0 up at HT? While Courtois had to make some saves, a lot of their shots came from distance and I can hardly remember them getting in behind our defence and having clear sight at goal like City did on Saturday. On the bigger picture, I don't quite get how people describe or think Spurs are an attacking side. They may be fun to watch (can't believe I just said that) because of their workrate, the way they pressed and harried teams out of possession but whenever they win the ball back and get into the final third, they become headless chickens. They lose the composure, calmness and do not have that guile/creativity to really unlock the opposition's defence and have a clear sight at goal. It's always just frantic stuff from them and not the quality to go with their play.
  8. It was after. Said that we scored the goals from counter-attacking situations when none of them were. He must have been hurt by the sight of us going to a team managed by Guardiola and destroying his side on the break as devastating as we did, something that he has never quite achieved against Guardiola. And not to mention, even if we don't play on the front foot under Conte, at least there's still desire to play on the break and go for the goals. With Mourinho? Granted, our players' average/poor decision making doesn't help at times but mostly, we set up way too defensively and didn't have any ambition to win the big games - especially away from home.
  9. Okay Tomo, we hear you. Don't have to repeat it THREE times!
  10. Because people are being paranoid? There haven't been genuine stories that say Real Madrid want Hazard or Hazard wants to join Real apart from the fact that he used to idolize Zidane when he was still playing. Instead, it's the paranoia in fans that think Hazard will go to Real just because they always go for the best players around. It's like Tomo alluded to, I'm not saying Hazard will 100% not join Real but people need to stop acting as Hazard will 100% go to Real. If we remain competitive and continue win trophies year in year out, then there's every chance Hazard would want to stay and you also gotta wonder if he wants to deal with all the politics, drama and spotlight - mostly tends to be negative - at Real to begin with.
  11. Not this Hazard-Real Madrid nonsense again
  12. It's like he's still living in the past, thinking people will just blindly fall for his every word. How often he has tried to spin something to suit his own agenda, even when we can obviously tell it's BS like his latest comments? He's 6th in table, 13 points off the top - and only 12 off the bottom side! - not in great form and he has the audacity to throw jibes and insults at others, who are doing 10x better than him. You just have to wonder whether he's actually more interested in picking up fights with others than getting results. Other managers and teams, winning or losing, are doing their talking on the pitch while Mourinho/United are the only ones not doing on it but more off it.
  13. Someone's feeling the pressure and can't handle the fact that another manager is doing a better job than he did with basically the same squad.
  14. How Antonio Conte beat Pep Guardiola in the battle of three-man defences
  15. It's imperative that we win our next 5 games. We have Spurs (a), Leicester (a), Hull (h), Liverpool (a) and Arsenal (h) from early Jan till early Feb. Can't afford to drop any silly points before then if we are to challenge for the title or make sure we finish in the top 4 at the very least.
  16. And last game at home to Sunderland too! Maybe it's an omen?
  17. Warning Fernando, there was hardly any analysis and Chris Sutton was talking BS about the game.
  18. OI! Don't jinx it man. We're playing a couple of defensive-minded teams next.
  19. Guardiola's record against Chelsea - D4 L2. We're the only team he's faced more than once and not beaten in his career.
  20. You have to remember, people like to moan and when we win, there's nothing to moan about. You only have to look at Henrique's absence. I can certainly give the one-thread-for-all idea a go for the Sunderland game and see how it goes. Too lazy to change the West Brom one now.
  21. TermX, is that you? Did you hack into Blue-in-me-Veins' account?! In all seriousness, nothing wrong with your suggestion but if anything, I would prefer to just have one thread for all things on the match - pre, live and post.
  22. And it's not the just that. He's been showing his mental strength of late too. He's no longer throwing tantrums, picking up fights but instead, he's stepping up in the right way and helping the team to victory - e.g against Spurs and City.
  23. Alonso isn't great defensively but he's pretty good going forward, something that Ivanovic can't boast about.
