  1. To say this was a huge win would be an understatement and that's not only because it's Spurs, we play City next week or important for our title aspirations but also vital for our top 4 hopes. Beating the teams around us for the top 4 has become as important, if not more, as beating them for the title. For the second straight week, I'm kinda glad that we are able to win in different ways. Thrashing Leicester, United, Everton etc was all good but digging out results like we did at Boro and today was great - especially after those capitulations against Liverpool and Arsenal - and showed that we might just have what it takes to win the title this season. On a slightly different note, our inability to keep possession and our composure when being pressed is something else. We've had this issue for years and yet there doesn't seem to be much improvement. Kept giving the ball away so cheaply in the first half and towards the end of the game and this same thing also happened at Boro. If we do this and start like we did today at City next week, we will get ripped apart. They won't let us off so easily with those mistakes.
  2. What did Pochettino tell Conte during that second half exchange? If he did something similar to what Mourinho did a couple of weeks ago, he can go f*ck himself!

  5. Weren't you the one who insisted Kenedy can be great as a LWB?
  6. True but I'd say Alonso is worse than Moses in defensive situations. The former has been getting beaten a tad too easily - especially against pacey players - but we are fortunate that we haven't been punished for it yet.
  7. Oh the outrage if we drop points against this lot on Saturday...
  8. I don't disagree but you should also know that it takes more than just success to get total respect from people. Mourinho deserves respect for what he's achieved yes but success only gets you respect to a certain extent.
  9. Who's defending Wenger? The point here isn't even about who won the title and when they last did it. And please, not all Chelsea fans were on the same page when it comes to praising Mourinho.
  10. They are good managers but think you might have overestimated Koeman, Ranieri and Mourinho (we should know best about him!). Having no 'Plan B' is different from having the ability to outwit a manager. And no one is underestimating Conte's tactical acumen, but merely acknowledging that someone is going to ask serious questions about us and our 3-4-3 soon and it might just happen in 1/2 or next 2 games. The pressing bit is interesting - Boro did that yesterday and we didn't manage it very well (probably not helped by players being tired after the international break). Certainly need to improve on that against Spurs and City and not give the ball away so cheaply like against Boro.
  11. I guess if any manager is going to outwit Conte's 3-4-3, it would be Pochettino or Guardiola or maybe even both! Big tactical test for Conte after the failures against Liverpool and Arsenal.
  12. Well, thank god Adama Traore didn't have a football brain. We couldn't handle his pace and dribbling and would have been in serious trouble had he known what to do with it.
  13. TOP OF THE TABLE! Average performance today but not easy to win after an international break. Gladly take the 1-0 win and run. Was a potential banana skin today.

  16. Not saying Wenger is a saint but he certainly doesn't go to the extreme like Mourinho does. That's the point.
  17. Costa is still on 4 YCs too! And we have Spurs and Man City next.
  18. Conte won the MOTM and Hazard the POTM. What are the odds of us dropping points here?
  19. Using league titles to demand respect? Delusional. Wenger may not have won the league in ages but at least he doesn't act like a twat and treat people without respect.
  20. That was pretty obvious last season, especially when you saw how fresh he was when he came back in March/April. Only the Mourinho apologists refused to see the reality and chose to buy into his 'betrayal' conspiracy.
  21. We should really stop trying to label cringeworthy title for our players. Remember Mazacar?

  23. Mourinho doubted Smalling's injury and questioned his 'bravery' last weekend and it turns out Smalling does have an injury, since a few weeks ago.
