Would be over the moon if we got Pulisic! But we all know the move isn't going to happen...

Couldn't watch the match last night and only watched the highlights. Hull were rubbish but scored 4 really excellent goals. I know we were 4-0 up at HT and teams easing off in that situation is nothing new but we seemed to give away too many chances to Hull in the second half. Giroud seems to fit the team like a glove (work for Morata to do) and I know one was in the shootout but IIRC, Caballero has saved more penalties for us than Courtois (2 to 1).

W 2-0 Man Utd D 2-2 Liverpool W 1-0 Arsenal D 2-2 Juventus That's some pretty impressive stuff from Spurs, it has to be said. Wonder how we'll fare with our own set tough games that's coming up...

Is there any chance that we'll actually sign him? I know we are reportedly interested but a lot will depend on whether we'll continue stick with the back 3 - aka will Conte stick around? - and what we're gonna do with Luiz and Cahill.
-
He's turning 29 this year and only has 2 years left on his contract. The club better not think of doing anything stupid!
-
His second goal last night was somewhat similar to his second in that 5-0 win over Everton last season.
-
I believe Opta tweeted that after he scored his first goal? Should that be 105 instead of 104.

It's not the main criteria but it's an important one, even more so in the current system that we're playing. Imagine having 3 passive CBs who only pass sideways or backwards. You might disagree but Christensen definitely uses the ball more productively than Cahill. The latter, quite literally, doesn't take any risks or even try to be a tad positive with his passing. When there is an opening to pass forward vertically or when there is a chance to break the opposition pressure by passing into a player in space between the lines, he will choose to pass sideways or backwards and let someone else take responsibility instead. Not to mention, Cahill is utterly predictably one-footed. Never does anything to try use his left foot. Only have to look at the recent Bournemouth game where they constantly pressurized him onto using right foot and all he constantly did was just passing sideways or backwards.

As @LAM09 pointed out above, Barcelona lost to Espanyol in the Copa del Rey some weeks ago.
-
That's looking way too far ahead!
-
Or that he constantly talks about being interested in Real Madrid. Not going to endear himself to the fans if he's always having one elsewhere.
-
If people want an example of the difference between our CBs when it comes to using the ball, that is one. Others will look to be proactive with it while Cahill always takes the passive approach. He could have easily passed to Fabregas or even Azpi on the right but instead, he passed it to Rudiger, passed it to the side where West Brom were pressing heavily. We ended up losing the ball down that side and gave away a decent chance for them to score. It's a joke that Conte continues to pick Cahill. All the other CBs in the squad can do what he does and give even more than him.

But the face, the complexion!

People voiced their support at the Bridge for Scolari, AVB when they were under pressure? Really? Don't recall that. Only Mourinho and Conte has gotten more support than anyone else.
-
Made one huge mistake in the second half, which Rondon should have punished him for but otherwise, another solid game. Could even see the difference between him and Cahill with the use of ball. One looked to be proactive and the other took the passive approach and dare I say, coward approach.
-
Did Morata undergo some anti-aging treatment when he was out? Looks like an 18-year-old all of a sudden!
-
Were there vocal support for Ancelotti, Scolari, AVB? Conte even has his own banner at the Bridge! Don't think even Mourinho had one in the past?
-
Good home debut. Held up the ball well, linked up well with others - seemed to have struck an instant understanding with Hazard already. Should have scored that guilt-edge chance he had. All in all, promising stuff so far.

So, so good. Underrated player. Deserves a contract for life at the club.
