I want to say Lampard has no choice there because the backup is Caballero but god knows the state of Caballero right now. He is already 38, could still be decent or could be worse than Kepa. So, I don't know...

But who is actually good and we can get this month?

No, I'm just surprised that there has been a lack of attention over his form. Maybe because he doesn't have some big personality but you've seen what the English media do with players like Pogba and yet, there's barely anything on Kepa. They don't even question Lampard despite his dodgy form, Kepa having one of the worst save ratios etc.

The funny thing is, even Sarri managed to make good use of Giroud last season despite seemingly playing a football style that doesn't suit him. But Lampard...?

But hardly much. Kepa is the most expensive keeper in the world but the media don't seem bother to even create some sort of drama and ask questions, like they typically do!

I don't think anyone thinks Lampard doesn't want to sign anyone this month. He has been consistent in his message that we will only sign players if they are the right ones. The question is, who are the right ones this month? If we sign Dembele, does that mean we say bye bye to Werner? If we sign Zaha, bye bye Sancho? And none of the other names we've been linked with this month have been inspiring either. So unless the board are secretly working on a deal so secret that no one outside fucking knows, then it feels we're just trying to get players that we have been linked with and they don't scream world class/quality.

By the way, any idea why Lampard is constantly sticking Willian and Azpi on the same side? To protect the latter defensively? When Azpi switched to RB after James' injury, Willian also went to the right side. Why...WHY?

No questions about Kepa to Lampard. Of course...

I'm sure the constant digs from Deschamps have played a part as well. But Giroud was ditched long before those digs came, no? He was still getting OK game time when that Sept international break came about but Lampard just started going all in on Abraham.

But but Lampard loves him and wants the club to keep him...

Don't disagree but is it really just the competition factor? He certainly lacks the killer touch, the decisive quality at the moment and we're paying the price for it. He needs like 10 chances to score 1 goal in a game.

Perhaps it's with the benefit of hindsight but Lampard's management of Giroud this season has been pathetic. He could have been a useful Plan B against deep defensive teams like today but has somehow been ditched after that Super Cup game. And he actually did well in that game too!

Maybe he'll get there one day and while he's not the only inconsistent player in the team, we're living and dying by Abraham's goals. He has 13 league goals overall this season, which is decent when you look at it, but he's scored only 3 goals in his last 10 league games. That's not good.

Lampard needs to be questioned more over Kepa's form this season. Been getting away with it!

It's getting to the point where it feels Lampard is just shoehorning Kante into the XI because it's Kante and he doesn't want to upset people. Kante was not needed today, not against a team that has been parking the bus in almost every game this season. Kovacic should have started, not Kante!

Okay, you keep on saying we need to buy this month but who is actually quality that we can realistically get this month? Give us names!
