I don't get why the CB rumors have kept on persisting. We aren't selling Rudiger, we aren't selling Tomori, we aren't selling Zouma and Lampard has already ruled out selling Christensen, especially after he backed up his words by playing him at the weekend. If there is a defensive position that we need to bolster in January, it's the left back position. Otherwise, it's a waste of resources to consider it at least until the summer.

Also, just noticed that he's already 28 year old...maybe time to sell him (cc @Vesper)

I'd call that Lewis Dunk rumor BS. It came from The Times and we don't look like selling a CB this window, especially after Lampard backed Christensen in the public through his words and action by playing him on Saturday. Also, it makes no sense to go after Dunk when we could buy Ake for less and he's more versatile too! Don't be surprised if we end up not buying anyone though.

Lampard explained why he chose Barkley for yesterday's match in his post-match Chelsea TV interview (from 3:12). Lampard said Barkley was selected due to the nature of game where we would likely have more of the ball etc and he also mentioned that it would be mad to drop Kante too many times. So yeah...

It just means that he's open to joining but doesn't necessarily mean he will join.
