We're gonna have major goalscoring problems if we have just Torres, Sturridge & Lukaku in the striking department for next season. And Sturridge has got SOME learning to do?! My word. He has got a LOT of learning to do.

Funny. Only awhile ago people was complaining about Ramires was crap when he wasn't playing well whatsoever. And it wasn't a surprise that he failed to do well under Ancelotti especially in the first few months. Still new to the PL then and still adapting. But no doubt that he has improved steadily since the second half of last season.

Mata may not have exactly blown us all away in every game but he is consistent especially when you consider that we have flogged him to death for most part of the season. He's still producing the goals & assists unlike Silva who has pretty much played lots of games like Mata too but had no goals or assists from Jan 22 till City's recent game against West Brom. Also, it wasn't his fault that he failed to do much in the Barcelona tie. The game plan was never suited to him in the 1st place and had no idea why RDM played him in both games.

Just watched Mancini's interview with Sky yesterday. Geoff Shreeves(again!) scared the crap out of him when he asked Mancini about Kompany's red card!

Playing a 4-4-2, whether it is the normal one or a narrow midfield, is a recipe for disaster against Bayern in the final. Go with the normal 4-4-2 and we will get overrun in midfield by Bayern's 3. Adopt the narrow diamond midfield and you're pretty much giving the license to Ribery & Robben to run riot down the flanks with only our FBs up to defend against them! IF RDM is struggling to fit in players into his 4-2-3-1, he can still go with a 4-3-3. Mikel, Lampard & Essien in midfield and Mata & Kalou out on the flanks. Only problem with that is you have Mata playing out wide, which will negate his strengths but it is still an option to use. Also, Torres seems to have found a bit of form recently with 4 goals in 2 games. Why try to destroy his confidence again by playing him out wide?! AND as some have pointed out here, if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. Now it is not the time to experiment new things to the lineup where every game matters to us. IF RDM does that and fails, pretty sure most people would be moaning about it. Any experimentation to the lineup should be saved for next summer during the pre-season. At the moment, just stick with what has been working so good for us, which is the 4-2-3-1.

That's because they've hardly played. There are still 4 more games to prove themselves to RDM. Even if they don't play themselves into good form, I would still rather have us play a proper balance team with players played in their proper position rather playing one out of position OR change to an entire new formation for a cup final of such high stakes.

Still time for either Malouda or Sturridge to find form. Better to start slightly out of form players than changing the entire formation and system for a cup final of such high stakes.

Still no. He doesn't have the ability to switch play from one side to the other. He doesn't have the eye to look for those decisive/incisive passes. He is nothing more than a combative midfielder IMO. If he is as good as you said, then how come Mourinho is not utilizing him more at Madrid rather than flogging Alonso to death??

That's the problem. He may be fine it comes to defending but we still need offensive threat from him going forward. His love-in with the ball is just embarrassing to watch at times!

Again, no Mata on the flanks. He's not good enough defensively and it will just negate his strengths going forward by sticking him out wide. Stick with him in the 'hole' behind Drogba/Torres!
