Are you being sarcastic there or something? Losing a semi final and losing in the final is basically no different because at the end of the day, you don't win the trophy and competition!

Lets not go blame everything on Benitez here even though we all hate him. Yes, it's Benitez's fault that Oscar mainly plays out wide rather through the middle but not sure how you can blame him for Oscar's performance. Throughout the season, his performances have been mostly up and down, even under RDM. Oscar has had a couple of good games and then average ones. This has happened as a result of the number of games he has played since last year and IIRC, Oscar has played over 60/70 games this past year including the Olympics. It's tough for any player to play well consistently going through that amount of games, let alone a 21 year old.

The date and time for the two matches against Basel: 1. The first leg will be played on Thursday 25th April, 8.05pm UK time at St. Jakob Park. 2. The second leg will be played on Thursday 2nd May, 8.05pm UK time at Stamford Bridge. Have included it in the 1st post if anyone need to check again later. And I did see the club's official website had the 1st leg to be played at 6pm UK time but BBC, Guardian & ESPN stated it will be played at 8.05pm instead. Am going with that since I doubt the match will be played earlier as it's not in Russia, Ukraine etc UNLESS they want to have the EL semi finals to kick off at separate times. Will inform later if there's any change or not.

Can't asked for a better draw. Playing arguably the easiest remaining(when compared with the other 2) though still a tough team to beat. A short distance travel and playing the 1st leg in Switzerland first. Nice. Our schedule during that period will then look like this: 21st Apr - v Liverpool(A) 25th Apr - v Basel(A) 28th Apr - v Swansea(H) 2nd May - v Basel(H) 5th May - v Man Utd(A) Also... Chelsea have only played 1 Swiss team previously in European competitions - St Gallen in 00/01 UEFA Cup. Lost 2-1 on agg in 1st round. P.S. Have edited the draws in the 1st post. Posted the date for those matches but just not 100% about the time yet, though it will probably kick off at 8.05pm UK time. Would just wait for confirmation.

Lets face it. That run is gonna end sooner or later. If we are gonna lose it, would probably be better to lose it against a quality team as opposed to some random lesser team in the future. And anyway, we must avoid having this going into ET. We have Fulham away on Wednesday to come!

Basel are no doubt a good team themselves but they are the easiest of the lot. If we get them, then it would provide us a chance to rotate a bit compared to if we get Fenerbahce or Benfica where Benitez is likely to play a full strength side in both games.

If he does well till the end of the season and helped us to achieve our targets, then good but honestly, he needs to be sold in the summer regardless. Do not want us to be in the situation where he goes all crap again next season and we are stuck with having him in the team as well as constantly talking/moaning about him. Whatever happens, HE NEEDS TO GO IN THE SUMMER!!!
