Or maybe he was just trying to be controversial to retain his 'Most Controversial Member' title. After all, someone has said recently he was losing his edge.
http://www.thefa.com/News/2013/may/david-bernstein-stiliyan-petrov.aspx Stiliyan Petrov has announced his retirement from football. Great. That would probably give Villa more encouragement to perform for him on Saturday.
Here's something for this game... 1. Chelsea have only won 2 of their last 13 Premier League visits to Villa Park - W2 D7 L4. (Only 7 PL wins overall in 20 visits). 2. Rafa Benitez has faced Aston Villa 6 times at Villa Park in the Premier League and his results read - DWDWDW (earliest to latest).
You do know we have yet to secure a Top 4 finish, don't you? That lineup is asking for a defeat, just like the one Benitez fielded in the away league game against Southampton.
Am still feeling very annoyed with this result. It is so undeserved for Spurs. And just why oh why are we not ruthless enough in front of goal this season?!!
I'm having this feeling that Benitez will field a similar weak lineup here like the one he did in the away league game against Southampton. Then again, maybe it's because I'm just feeling pessimistic right now.
With Benitez around, it's always scary and there's always that doubt as to whether we will win a game, even when we play the lesser sides. He isn't one that instills confidence into people.
2 points dropped. Took the lead twice and gave two very poor goals away. Created tons of chances but failed to convert them, as always. Paid the price for it this time and Spurs leave the game with an undeserved point.
If only it was the other way round. Mata playing that backheel pass to Hazard instead. The latter would have ran clean through and be 1 v 1 against Lloris. Shame.
Oh gawd. Just bloody win this game so that we can feel a little more relax in the last game against Everton. So do not want the scenario where we have to win that game to finish in the Top 4. Please Chelsea. Please.. P.S. Do note that this game is a lunch time kick off on Saturday.
