  1. Barcelona eye Chelsea's Juan Mata after report of contract dispute with Jose Mourinho Already there is a contradiction going on in the first two paragraphs...
  2. It's in Spanish. Anyone care to translate?
  3. TBF, I think it depends on what stories are being posted from Goal in here. If it's a news story about someone saying this and that with quotes etc, then it's fine. BUT if it's some BS story they completely write up like how The Sun, Daily Star etc do, then yeah. That should have been prohibited. Think the accurate report is the Sky Sports one. Saw on Twitter that the Dortmund Sporting Director actually said they still hope to get KDB on loan as opposed to the Goal article where it says KDB wants to join Dortmund (which is likely true anyway if we decide to send him out on loan but not the case now I guess). Won't mind that at all.
  4. That is precisely why I found it amusing that people think having a strikeforce of Lukaku, Ba and Torres next season will be enough. Won't get us anywhere with that and we'll be fighting to stay in the Top 4 again. Mourinho won't put up with that. And at the moment, the overrating or overhype of Lukaku borderlines ridiculous. Had 1 great season at West Brom yes but many already think he's world class and can lead the frontline at the highest level when he's still got plenty to prove and improve on before he gets to that stage.
  5. Really? On Twitter, there seem to be quite a number of people that still thinks it's worth keeping Torres on the basis of "oh. Torres is improving. He's getting his confidence back." and all that. And that is rather funny considering basically everyone here is against keeping him at the club.
  6. Speaking about long passes from Mikel, have a look at the 2nd goal here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqffYs3XOg8
  7. Blimey. The thread has gone quiet for the past 2-3 days. @CHOULO19 basically just praised the execution of a pass (only 1 pass!) and suddenly here we go round and round again with the Mikel debate...
  8. Agree that attacking wise, he can still do better but defensively, he has been rock solid. Arguably our best defender last season. To have a new RB over him as you mentioned in the previous post would be very very harsh.
  9. Kinnear is bitching about again. And Yohan Cabaye has suddenly become Yohan Kebab. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kuAVjLpU9cU
  10. Wouldn't blame him really. He after all hasn't even played for us! But as @Atholy pointed out, don't think we should be worrying too much about this. He did say he wanted to work with Mourinho one day recently.
  11. They must be in heaven. Suddenly they have like 3-4 fellas next season who will give them quotes after quotes after quotes or chance to make big headlines to sell papers. You talking about AVB here? It baffles me how he got linked with Real Madrid, apparently Napoli and now PSG, after practically only 1 year of success in his career!
  12. TBF, Marin was like half injured most of the time during the season. And given Benitez was under pressure to making sure that we continue to win as much as possible, he was never really in a position to give Marin lots of game time and chance to play him into form. Had to play those that is fit and ones that can come in to do a decent job immediately.
  13. Mata in Michael Cox's European Team of the Season... http://www.zonalmarking.net/2013/06/12/european-team-of-the-season-201213/
  14. No. I think you are overrating him too much and I don't think we need him, even if he was available. But anyway, lets just agree to disagree...
  15. Long time ago or not, the point is he hasn't fulfilled his potential. It's unfair comparing to Ronaldo yes but again, he hasn't exactly turned into a player that most would have expected him. On his day, he is better than the average winger but that day is far and few between. It's consistency to consistently deliver at the highest level that makes a player good or great and Nani is neither of those. Has the talents but is an average player. And no. It's not Nani doesn't fit into Fergie's system but for the reasons mentioned. He's inconsistent, blows hot and cold and hardly ever delivers what is expected of him.
  16. Yes, I know. It was hilarious. But still, the goal originated from Luiz's mistake in the first place.
  17. Not denying Isco has got talent and ability but best not to rave so much about his performances in the European U21 Championships. He, after all, has got way more experience than majority out there having played so many games at the top level with Malaga in La Liga and the Champions League.
  18. @CHOULO19, Nani is not only inconsistent offensively but inconsistent overall as a player. You will see him perform OK for 2-3 games and then see him go completely missing for the next few games. He touted to be the next world class player, the next Cristiano Ronaldo (similar ilk) and all that but up till now, he hasn't really fulfilled his potential including maximised his talent to stand out from the rest. Even when he's not injured, he's always been in and out of Fergie's squad previously and that itself should already tell its own story about him as a player. Moreover, the fact that United are even thinking of selling Nani should already give you a few hinters on what they think about him. If he's good like you're trying to make him out to be, they would be adamant in keeping him but yet, we keep on hearing these rumours about him being sold and other clubs interested in him. Nani may be one of the traditional wingers left but I wouldn't want another inconsistent and average player in the squad when we've already got a few. And those posts have been moved to here...
  19. Now you're talking... Decent players there you mentioned but not sure how many of them are better than Schurrle especially when you don't really know how much they would cost. And Nani? Really?! NANI?!!
  20. They could do with lending those players to Tahiti. Even the playing field a little bit.
  21. Being silly I guess but am somewhat nervous waiting for the fixtures to be released. Curious to see who we face. Just hoping it's not some big team, at least not away from home.
  22. Funny. Those players you mentioned, we either have bought them or sold them. Get where you're coming but your inability to name a player that is similar to Schurrle right now and cost half of the price we bought him makes your point rather invalid here. You have the point but no name to back it up. We already had that discussion. Won't go into that again...
  23. Spain's bench tonight vs Uruguay: Reina, Valdes, Albiol, Azpilicueta, Monreal, Martínez, Mata, Cazorla, Silva, Navas, Villa, Torres. That bench is just ridiculous!
  24. And you also can't forget that our last 2 managers mainly prefers 4-2-3-1 anyway. All fell into place perfectly.
