  1. And you're late to the party. That was already posted a few pages back.
  2. Great deal! But am wondering though, how much are we getting out of this in this 10-year deal because the current one isn't a lot...
  3. That did happen, but half of it. 4 goals and 1 missed penalty.
  4. Now now Ryan. Careful with that kind of statement. Otherwise, the sharks will be out to get you.
  5. OMG! He actually scored this?!! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x113orw_nig-1-1-uru_sport?start=1#.UcOFm1fxySw
  6. Think you have to take into account that Ramires was playing a somewhat restricted role in the pivot last season. He didn't always get the chance or wasn't allowed to bomb forward in order to protect the back 4 and allow his partner to venture forward instead. And that stat doesn't mean he's not a great runner. (stats don't always tell the whole story) We have seen him making deep and late runs from midfield, breaking past the opposition defence when used rightly in games and hardly anyone has able to match him when that happens.
  7. Why so? Care to elaborate further? Ramires has always been a beast when it comes to playing the ball into a space in which he can run into. Have hardly seen anyone catching up with him once he get started on the engine-esque run of his.
  8. Juan Mata staying at Chelsea and will get Mourinho call to rubbish Barcelona links A complete turnaround from the Mirror...
  9. Won't be surprised if we see someone post 'Torres > Cavani' if the latter doesn't score more than 4 goals against Tahiti.
  10. Looks like Torres is gonna 'cheat' his way to winning yet another Golden Boot...
  11. His 3 goals against Tahiti is his 3rd hat-trick for Spain. His previous 2 came against New Zealand and San Marino. Massive...
  12. Maybe it wasn't even on in the 1st place. Just some people here had believed it was.
  13. Possibly. Then again, people are always prone to believe things like this when they want to.
  14. Think we have seen Torres getting more involved in 1 half here against Tahiti than he did in all the games he played for us last season.
  15. Like I said, that was more down to his way of taking penalties. His other missed penalties is an example of it. His technique and style isn't exactly the best. And admittedly, Mata did look nervous when taking the penalty but arguably understandable considering he has never found himself in such high pressurized situatiob before. He will learn to get stronger from such moments, as every player does. Think it's myopic to just put down a moment of brilliance down to goals. Delivering assists and quality assists at that is also as important as scoring vital goals in big games and Mata performed magnificently on both fronts last season. I mean how many times have we looked clueless when he's not playing last season? How many times last season, when we are not winning or losing, Mata comes up with a crucial opening goal or delivering a quality assist that leads to a goal for us and save our bacons? You talk about Drogba's header in the Champions League final being a moment of brilliance. Yes, no doubt it was brilliant and crucial header but funnily enough, had Mata not delivered the right quality of corner then, Drogba wouldn't have scored it. And mind you, Drogba's last minute goal against Man United in the 2007 FA Cup final was not a moment of individual brilliance. It owed more to a moment of team play brilliance between Lampard and Drogba. I asked you for 'vital moments' that you think Mata is not delivering and yet all you have given is just comparison with another player. Not giving the moments like I asked kinda defeat your point about Mata doesn't have the 'X-Factor' in him. You say it but don't have the substance to back it up. And think it has been obvious that you like Isco very much judging from your post above and the one posted in his thread IIRC but it seems to me that you are using him as a reason to downplay the quality of players we have, first Oscar and now Mata, all because you want us to buy Isco.
  16. Ramires will basically be like what Essien was to us, before his injuries, under Mourinho. No surprises to see Mourinho likes him. You always need a willing runner and someone with loads of engine in the team like Ramires.
  17. Him not scoring penalties is down more to the fact that his penalty taking skills are average and predictable if you like, nothing to do with his mentality. Care to mention those 'AT THE MOST VITAL MOMENT'?
  18. Those quotes seems a bit dodgy. Feels so open, random and casual about it. Could be a mistranslation/misquote with these kind of interviews.
