  1. Pardon me for being paranoid or negative or whatever, it feels as though the stage has been set for Drogba to score at the Bridge and knock us out of the Champions League...
  2. Willian and Salah are impossible. As for Schurrle, well if I'm being paranoid, then maybe just maybe there might be a chance with that but mainly, don't think it will happen.
  3. As some have mentioned above, since we already got Salah, don't think we'll be looking to get Griezmann anymore and that is a tad unfortunate (prefer him over Salah personally). He mainly plays on the left but is always constantly rotating position which he sometimes appear on the RW or even the centre forward position. Moreover for someone who isn't that tall, he has a decent heading ability and always look to get at the end of passes, crosses etc inside the penalty box and that is certainly reflected in the number of goals he has scored for Real Sociedad this season. It has gradually increased each season. In fact, Griezmann is in the Top 6 of the highest goalscoring player in the Top 5 leagues with 15 goals, only Suarez, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Costa and Sturridge are ahead of him. And not to mention, he's one of the only 2 players in Top 20 who isn't mainly a ST that has reached double figures in the goal tally (Yaya Toure being the other).
  4. Aren't Man City already look a bit dodgy in complying with the FFP rules? If they want to continue playing in Europe, I'm not sure if they can genuinely go around and splash big money to sign players for fun like in last 2-3 years. Then again, don't think Pellegrini has a lot to fix in this team with the exception of his defence and if Southampton continue to resist and be stubborn as they appear to be now, then I don't think they'll sell Shaw to them, even for £30m. City might in the end go for someone else. Heck Pellegrini might even return to Spain and raid one of the LBs from there. I'm not sure if Shaw is that kind of person or would do it but he can force Southampton's hands a little in making them sell him to us if it really comes to a bidding war. True but then again, they are probably looking at long term investment here and I believe the City's team are lacking HG or English players for that matter.
  5. It has always seem that way in the past but yet somehow, we do seem to produce quite a number of dull draws against these lots. TBF, think they are decent side going forward and Holtby has done alright for them since moving to Fulham. It's defensively that they are rather awful and with a little bit more luck, West Brom could have put a few past them last weekend.
  6. I seem to remember Mourinho saying Schurrle was exhausted too because he hasn't played a lot of games in recent times and that yellow card was just an additional factor in taking him off.
  7. That is true but not an excuse for the goal conceded, certainly not in the manner we allowed that to happen. If you're gonna concede, then make sure the opposition have to work extremely hard for it, make them earn it if you like and don't give them any easy ones to score. Chedjou's goal yesterday was such a preventable goal had Terry and Cech done their job properly.
  8. Never mind the support at the Turk Telekom Arena, there is already a huge difference in the atmosphere and noise created by us fans that travel to away games and those attending the home ones. Don't even think a 50% of that is replicated at the Bridge.
  9. You know, rather than moaning about the game, performance etc here, why not react to some positive (and hilarious) news...? http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/17715-chelsea-collaborate-with-the-simpsons/?p=858021

  12. Indeed. Never easy against these lots. Always seem to turn up against us even when they look absolutely average and the games are always tight and dull. When we win, it's usually by 1 goal or if it not, it's a drab draw.
  13. Terry's defending for the goal conceded was just piss poor, especially after the high standards he has set this season. As I mentioned in the Cech's thread, both of them were at fault and in Terry's case, he should done his job properly, mark Chedjou and don't give them any chance to score but we did and against a team that was rather ordinary. Ugh!

  16. Both at fault IMO. Terry should be doing his job, mark Chedjou and don't give anything away while Cech should be more assertive/commanding in those situations. As TOPTB mentioned above, this was quite similar to the Crouch goal we conceded at Stoke. Utterly poor from both players.
  17. Mourinho certainly has got a point there..
  18. A 1-1 draw is a decent result in the first leg away from home but it's a tad frustrating. We could and should have killed the game off in the first 30 minutes. Had so many chances on the counter, thanks to Mancini's tactical suicide, but we didn't make it count and all because of our poor passing and indecisiveness in the final third. Played poorly in the second half but didn't look overly threatened and yet still managed to give away such a cheap goal from a corner against a side that was nothing special. Nothing! Terry and Cech were certainly at fault for it; one left his man unmarked and the other didn't come to collect/punch away the ball when he should have. Poor. Also, the referee Carlos Velasco Carballo was quite literally taking the piss. He continued where Lee Probert left off at the weekend; favoring the opposition with his decisions. Every time we make a challenge and a Galatasaray player goes down, it's a free kick but when it's the other way around, nothing was given. Worse of all is that he went card happy for a moment dishing yellow cards on such cheap fouls for us and yet someone like Melo who has been going around making crude challenges on several occasions didn't even get a yellow card. Utterly pathetic showing from the referee!
