  1. Some cracking ties in the Europa League Last 16... Juventus v Fiorentina Porto v Napoli Tottenham v Benfica Sevilla v Real Betis
  2. He has looked out of his depth but tonight's ridiculous comeback against E.Frankfurt has probably kept him his job a little while longer. And not too sure about the resignation part. Only saw there were rumours on them.
  3. Yeah, they will be. Showed the character and fight under Garry Monk that were missing previously under Laudrup. They just probably need to cut out the defensive errors at the back. Otherwise, they should be fine.
  4. Swansea lost out to Napoli in the end but they so do not deserved that. Completely outplayed Benitez's side over the two legs but shame they just didn't take their chances. Had so many in the first and second leg combined but not clinical enough. Swansea did themselves proud nonetheless and typical jammy luck for Benitez but maybe the exit for Swansea will be a blessing in disguise. Can concentrate on Premier League survival.
  5. I seriously hope it's sooner rather than later because the improvement, if there has been any (this problem has been apparent all season long), hasn't been that obvious at the moment.
  6. Worth noting that Lampard is currently on 170 goals in Premier League history, just 5 behind 3rd placed Thierry Henry who has obviously scored 175 goals.
  7. I actually had Lampard on 7 goals this season...that was till I saw he mentioned 209 earlier on Twitter. Ugh!
  8. Tiredness certainly could well be a factor in our drop of performance level recently but only to a certain extent and not buying into how some have completely blown it out of proportion, using it as a main excuse for the average performances especially when we have had quite a fair bit of breaks in between matches since January. That being said, another way of examining this tiredness factor is our lack of goals in the last few matches. In the last 8 matches, we have scored 6 in those but in 5 of them, we only scored 1 goal in each and in the other 2 games, we failed to score at all. We create chances but we don't convert enough of them and because of this, we are having to exert even more energy than we would like either through vigorous defending or charging forward to get the second goal and kill teams off. And it's probably not a surprise that we have only won 4 of the last 8, drawing 3 and losing 1
  9. 6 I believe. Apparently his goal against Sunderland in the League Cup has gone down as a Cattermole OG.
  10. Lampard awarded last-gasp Chelsea winner against Everton by dubious goals panel That is Lampard's 209th goal then..
  11. Opposite of Eto'o. All of 8 of his goals have come at the Bridge.
  12. It's 16 starts boy. 11 in Premier League, 1 in League Cup, 3 in Champions League and 1 in UEFA Super Cup.
  13. Thanks to the abysmal Spanish referee yesterday, we now have 3 players who are 1 yellow card away from a suspension in Europe heading into the second leg - Mikel, Lampard and Ramires. All central midfielders...
  14. Not saying this on hindsight but think Mourinho should have brought Mikel on earlier a bit yesterday when Galatasaray were already putting some pressure on us rather actually doing so immediately after we concede.
  15. The London derby mini league so far this season... Worth noting that 4 of our next 5 league games are London derbies.
  16. Never mind the conversion rate statistics, the bigger point here would be we need to be a lot more clinical in front of goal. Other teams only need like 1-3 chances to get a goal while we could need up to 10 just to score 1. Don't necessarily agree that our AMs need to supply more chances to our STs. Considering we are a team with AMs that score goals themselves, the ST upfront also needs to be comfortable in creating for others (hence why a poacher would be a disaster in this team's setup). Another issue is that there is not enough people making runs off the ball and get behind the opposition's defence. The likes of Willian, Oscar, Hazard etc all want to get on the ball and they are not making enough penetrative runs to receive through balls and score. Even when they do on the rare occasions, they over-elaborate things in the final third. If anything, it's only our STs who do that but even then, they are a bit meh. There is no point in supplying more through balls if nobody is making the runs. Only Schurrle (and maybe Salah) out of the attacking players we have can make runs behind the defence and give us something different in the attacking third. Otherwise, all the play is in front of the opposition's defence. Don't think we have cut through teams this season on a consistent basis.
  17. Eto'o and Ba shrug off Mourinho comments about Chelsea strikers
