  1. Actually, Van Persie did get a yellow card for removing his shirt during the goal celebration but unfortunately, that was his first booking of the game. And maybe this is just me but the title stating we were robbed of a famous win kinda make it sound like we were a small team, close to a victory at Old Trafford.
  2. No. That free kick situation could have happened even if we had taken an attacking approach. In fact, that can happen at anytime and anywhere on the pitch. It's nonsensical to say that situation came about because of our approach in the final quarter of the game. You said it's Jose's job to keep them out of such situations. I could easily turn around and say, it's Jose's job to think of the best approach, adopt it and trust the players to carry out to perfection. Instead, the players switched off and it cost us the goal. Had we seen the game out at 1-0, would anyone even complain of what Mourinho did? Doubt it.
  3. Funny that when it was the players who made the mistake for the goal conceded. Instead, people are going more for the easy target when the players on the pitch let the manager and fans down.
  4. Jose Mourinho's touchline antics make him box office but he took it too far shaking Louis van Gaal's hand in Manchester United dugout
  5. For amusement purpose, would like to see Mourinho attack a big team away from home while we're having a 1-0 lead and then concede 2 goals to lose 2-1 because of that. Would be really interesting to see what people have to say then.
  6. One quiet game and the meltdown here is just
  7. The problem with Hazard's finishing is that he tends to go for low and sometimes not very powerful shots. Not that they are bad but if you do that, then you're running the risk of making it somewhat easy for goalkeepers to save those shots and even easier if they have been studying Hazard's style in taking shots. Hazard seems to like going more for placement as opposed to power shots. He has scored 34 goals in all competitions since joining us and 24 of those (including the penalties) have been low shots.
  8. http://www.espnfc.com/club/borussia-dortmund/124/blog/post/2110464/borussia-dortmund-desperate-to-be-themselves-once-again He was talking about the FK goal they conceded by the way..
  9. Torres... https://vine.co/v/OMBO69n9B5P
  10. Mata in his latest blog.. http://juanmata8.com/blog/en/it-was-a-special-game/
  11. That was too obvious because if I remember correctly, they wasted time on purpose by taking ages to take the goal kicks/free kicks. Could just get Fabregas to hack down someone or two.
  12. Play him in the last 10 minutes against Shrewsbury and get him booked. Misses QPR game, back against Liverpool. We should be able to beat QPR without him..
  13. Louis van Gaal’s and José Mourinho’s caution comes at cost of creativity
  14. I know manager and players are biased towards their own team but after watching the post-match interviews yesterday, I ed at them. On what earth did United deserve the win? On what planet did United create more chances than us? A draw was arguably a fair result but United are really kidding themselves if they thought played better than us.
  15. When are people gonna stop resorting to cliches and not call West Ham a shit team?
  16. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/10/chelsea-statement.html Replacing Gourlay with an ex-Liverpool managing director....
  17. Well, don't think there was anything wrong with him suggesting that. He's a good and solid defender but still a newbie to the Premier League and playing with the other defenders in the back line.
  18. Ivanovic is suspended for this game. And it's FILIPE Luis, not FELIPE.
  19. For all the struggles of Newcastle this season, they are only 1 and 3 points behind Spurs and United respectively. Funny old game this.
  20. But counter attacking can also leave a team open, especially when one loses the ball whether through bad passes or just attacks that didn't come off. With this United game, you can say we dropped off quite a lot but I don't remember them having any meaningful chances and in the end, they needed a bit of help from Phil 'Rubbish' Dowd and our defenders to score, from a set-piece at that.
  21. The big man proved me wrong. Thought we were almost goners if he starts against United but he played well. Held the ball up well and linked nicely with others. Fantastic header for the goal too. Had no idea why Van Gaal put Rafael to mark Drogba rather than Van Persie, who was standing at the goal post. Absolutely ridiculous but not going to complain much about that. And if he was 100% fit, think he would have converted that chance in the first half.
  22. It's quite unbelievable how reactive certain people are to results.
  23. Like The Chels said above, Zouma was ball watching. As the free kick was delivered into the penalty area, Van Persie took 3-4 steps to get away from Zouma while the latter was just watching the action unfolded in front of him with that Fellaini shot. Then, when the ball fell to Van Persie, Zouma couldn't get any block in because he just realized where the striker was and was just a tad out of his reach to deny him. Should be watching his man.
  24. Both approaches are risky. To say one is more risky than the other is a bit nonsensical in my opinion. I don't deny that if you just defend, you're just one random chance or mistake by a player or the referee from conceding but why not point the finger at the players for making the mistakes at crucial moments? The manager can hardly be blamed for everything when things like this go wrong. On the other hand, if we try to attack and get the second goal when we already have the 1-0 lead but concede. Then, where's the logic of making ourselves open to conceding? It's a catch 22 situation really.
