Be a Bayern riot if they let him go during Nagels first season, no shot surely, especially when he needs to guarantee the continuation of the Bundesliga titles rolling in. Just inviting pressure onto yourself.
-
Woeful, such a shame, if he were to get back on track then that was it. I am looking forward to TT preseason though, as others may still be at the Euros or on break. It allows for a proper look at some of our perceived deadwood. All for a redemption story, no matter the player as long as it’s in our blue.
-
Let’s say we did get him, what formation are we looking at? We’d have to stick with a back 3 right? Rumours suggest TT wants to go back 4, though it’s speculation, but it makes sense being in the market for a ball playing RCB.

His team play and first touch +1 definitely agree he has grown as a footballer under Conte. what concerns me about Lukaku, you look at his goals and most come inside the box, we create those chances sure, but also Serie A defending is comical. Unsure if it’s just this year or because I’ve watched more A games than usual due to being interested in Juve/Inter, but my God, it is a farce in terms of marking and knowing where your man is. I don’t doubt he will get goals, I’d wager that a lot of strikers would, it’s whether he’s the right type of striker for us af perhaps he is, interested to know others opinions. I guess against teams who sit back he’s an option to go short and lay off to MF like Drogs used to do. *edit* comical is harsh, but you tend to hold it to a certain standard because it’s Italy and it’s just not good from what I’ve watched.

United need so much more than a few quid from us, long may Ole reign there 🤣
-
Still remember RLC beasting Y Toure way back when in preseason, we’d all seen youth highlights but he really announced himself. Sadly it was a total and utter waste of unparalleled talent in terms of academy prospects.
-
Timo is always going to play on the left side though right? Hmm realistic destinations for Ronaldo otherwise? PSG? Doubtful. I think it’s worth a punt considering you know what you’re getting, same as T Silva. Dreaming though, I know.
-
I really thought he would do well here, quite a shame, very wasted.
-
That’s one more manager out of the Spurs running.. Lovely.
-
I won’t sit here and say that I believed in him the whole time etc even though he’s listed as my favourite player. Dave was woeful at times and to the frustration of most of this forum as well, including myself, but players are capable of turning it around and he absolutely did, so credit to him and the way he led us when Tuchel came in. I certainly did not enjoy his antics at getting sent off and the almost red card for the last man pull back, nor seeing him at RWB, but Tuchel had his reasons and we saw James take back that position, Dave shifted back to RCB-back three and was immense. Long may that style and attitude continue, though I have a feeling the reason we are in for a new CB is to shift to a back four.

I wouldn’t be disappointed to sign Lukaku because he’s miles better than what we have, that said, it would leave a bit to be desired. personally, I would take a shot at Ronaldo, even if that’s for a season and then activate Haaland’s release clause. No guarantee he would come to us, but ultimately, as a stop gap I would still take Ronaldo over Lukaku. Pure finisher and capable of interchanging, but also ruthless winning attitude that our young lads need more of. Juve doesn’t want him, they may not have CL due to ban, he won’t cost the world in terms of transfer fee and I would honestly take a shot at someone who is known to keep themselves in peak physical condition and still want to win more. Look at the striker problem again next summer when Haaland is available or elsewhere.
-
Just read Barca, Real and Juve will be banned from champions league this week. Obviously they will appeal.. but bodes well for our third CL.. 🤐

Simply the job came too early for him and we were all sitting here with our blue tinted glasses on hoping for the best. As it turns out, debut season wasn’t half bad, considering circumstances, but ultimately that seemed to have enabled his ego to take over and stick to his guns when asked what the plan was by the board/transfer targets. Appreciate what he did for the club, but simply not there yet, best of luck to him and I hope he works on his media, that always rubbed me the wrong way, he seemed to bite at most dangling questions by journalists.
-
Hope we draw them next season to be honest, Tuchel will eat Carlo alive tactically.
-
At this stage, clubs who have a project in mind will stay well clear and the guy is a winner, so it’s not like he has to accept something deemed beneath his stature as a coach. I still rate him very highly, his personality won me over, but at the same time it was the same thing that had me tired of him in the end.
-
Not even sure Spurs is a realistic option considering his track record for ensuring control over transfers, which Spurs do not allow. One season and gone, though I think he will at least take them back to top 4. Everton? Almost want to laugh but realistically, what other clubs are free?
-
What is happening, Carlo?? How has this happened!? ~edit~ Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and that eyebrow of his, but I was very glad when we changed it up, tactically wanting, I am genuinely shocked shocked shocked that Real have gone there.
-
True, I would even throw Ziyech in there. Preferably, I'd like Callum to go to Dortmund, he needs the experience and they have a good pedigree with young English talent, plus some time with Jude might do us well in the future. I echo your point though, pipedreams....
-
What was the main issue with the stadium? The real estate around that area is just insane after all, so if we had to convince people to move.. I can understand it.
-
Honestly, considering we could throw Callum in on a one/two year loan deal, which he could greatly benefit from + cash, I would say we do. Based on the fact I've been staring at a block of 8 players+ against us too many times this season. I'm convinced thats why Pep went with such an attacking formation, because if we concede first, we always have such a difficult time when men at behind the ball and commit horrendous errors on the counter. That said, Callum loan + £50-60m, a snip in todays market considering our war chest this year.
-
As impressive as that stadium is, we really missed a trick by not getting Battersea station, as I understand it, it wasn't our fault as the property game ultimately won, but still, would have been a sight to see.. And easier for me to get to.. 😏
-
Who is going to pay that? City have players + cash, but ultimately, do you want someone else's rejects? I mean, Ake has been injury prone all year, Laporte is a good player, but are they after a CB as a priority? Jesus? The guy lost his hunger after a year of pay checks. Unless they offer Sterling to a deal, which I doubt Sterling goes for surely? What I'm saying is, are there actually that many clubs that will pay for Kane? We may be the only viable cash choice, I don't disagree there would be serious unrest amongst fans, but there already is. What is the alternative for Levy? Let Kane devalue and devalue, sell him next season for 50-60m? ~edit~ To clarify, I'm not saying that this will come off, I'm saying that what is the alternative that Spurs have if we are the only ones with the cash structure to do it.

Champions League Final 2021 - Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Getting two is absolutely massive, to be put amongst the clubs who have two already, to be considered not a one off in 2012. It really is an achievement, I didn’t think it was going to happen again in my lifetime, considering how close we’d gone on so many occasions. To get three would truly blow my mind. -
I actually don’t think the club would have an issue in structuring a deal worth £120m, considering the amount of player sales we are going to generate.
-
Realistically who would they even be interested in from our cast offs? Tammy?
