Not offside ffs

Like I get the narrative of "coming home" and "unfinished business" but come on.. Please no! How do we even line up!? We've seen Kai excel in a further position up the field, shunted out to the wing or side, does not work.
-
So would I, if I were an agent, £.
-
Of course, you could say that about any transfer really or rumour, none of us work for the club etc. even the figures you've quoted there are within a measure of whats been rumoured, first it was €130m, then £130m, then... xyz, so on and so forth. We don't know the wages that Lukaku would command either, being arguably the top striker in an under performing league for two years. We are UCL winners, we are not short of money, we are doing an awful job at offloading hangers on and we are losing some talent in the process.. Its shaping up to be a very disappointing summer on the back of a huge elation with us, yet again, not backing a winning manager. Also, I am so so so disappointed we haven't backed Tuchel so far, he is by far, personality wise and coaching wise, my favourite coach. I'd hope we learnt from our Conte debacle, yes difficult prickly manager, but he took us to a league title none of us thought we'd be in for that year. Bottom line, nobody knows the figures, but what has been quoted so far, to me, a fan on a forum, believes that we could achieve with our financial muscle. Considering Haaland would give us years at the top level being so young, its a safer long term investment than say, as I said, Lukaku who has played since he was young, had fitness issues and arguably has 2-3 years left, with us losing Alonso potentially, in the process.
-
For me, its nothing to do with the player himself, its all to do with the cost and the return on investment. If we are going to invest that money, is it beyond us to stretch to Haaland? I would honestly roll into the season with Kai and a £25m Danny Ings, rather than invest £110/120m + players into Lukaku, who had fitness issues whilst he was not under a strict coach and will give us 2 to 3 years at the top level, possibly. Nobody doubts that he will score goals, he is a machine, but ultimately he dictates how a team must play.
-
What will he do when the golden generation are gone, back to obscurity. He used to annoy the hell out of me with his Eden interviews and quotes about transfers etc. way before he even got a move.
-
100% I have always said this. It’s not uncommon either, where I played football as a kid this was frequently done to get kids into academies against a younger age group.
-
Gutted if it’s Lukaku, £100m for 2-3 years.
-
Kane hasn't reported for training.
-
My point is that we have little to no chance if we let it get to next summer, sadly.
-
That’s quite mad, I mean, from my own perspective I thought £130m was enough. But seeing the figures around, including fees and such, mental. But we are in this position of our own making to be honest, it is what it is. We are not going to be in a stronger position than we are now, as UCL winners, same as 2012. I said this ages ago, much like others, do we have any concerns with Tuchel? No, we are all concerned with the board doing the right thing and backing our winning manager.
-
Good deal for City. Building on their foundations and improving their squad, simple as that. Credit to their board, Irrespective how they balance their books, they back their manager that brings in trophies. Something we are yet to see for us despite winning the biggest trophy in club football. Their mentality? Win and “how can we improve?” Our mentality? “We won the UCL, squad must be fine”
-
The notion that Spurs even think for a second we’d do business on any significant level is laughable.
-
We’ve seen everything from £130-£200m thrown around by everyone and their dog. Tiresome and it’s a real shame. Great fit for us.
-
Wasn’t the deadline for this on Monday? Dortmund stuck to their deadline with Sancho, so expectation here is the same, glad this will be over by then effectively, either way.

Either love or hate Grealish, I'm on the bandwagon, I think he is only going to get better, but in order for that to happen he needs to leave Villa asap and stop imitating Barkley off the field. Essentially, he has proved himself there and that he is able to step up when needed. He would definitely improve City and under Pep for sure, he improves any top team. Is he world class? No, can he be? I believe so under the right coach and in the right team, copy and paste that to any talent, I suppose. That said, I am absolutely off the Foden bandwagon, I never got on it, good player, not great. The word(s) great and world class are just thrown around so easily these days.
-
Fair to Rudi that he was immense toward the backend of the season, but prior to that, shaky. I'd be against making him one of the highest earners considering his history and age. I wouldn't shed a tear if he went, though like I said, toward the backend of the season, his attitude was good to see.
-
Was thinking exactly this. Chap at work is a Fulham fan and he said that realistically he probably has aspirations of challenging Kepa.
-
I'm not going to wish ill on any player in blue, I hope he does well and proves me wrong, from what I have watched of him during last season, forget the Euros, I see nothing special and I'm concerned this is our level of target. Like I said, hope he proves me wrong and is a worldy.

Disagree regarding Varane, I personally think he’s going to be found out in the premiership. Does he have the attributes to acclimate? Of course, still think he should have stayed put. Kounde, totally agree, I don’t see the hype, bang average and I can’t believe we’ve started our transfer business there, aside from a possible keeper.
-
Side note, David Brooks still looks classy, albeit the miss. I still maintain he’s premiership quality.
-
Big chance missed today, needed one or two more touches on the ball than most, awareness was poor when pressed. Hoping it was nerves? Doubtful but hopeful. Onto the next match.
-
And also Tammy wonders why we are buying or needing a striker.. missed three good chances early on.
-
I disagree that he was overrated from an ability perspective. He couldn’t stay fit or last 90 minutes since he was young, his technical ability was never in question before his achilles, in my opinion. Just sad in terms of what could have been.
