That is the problem. They have been coddled and pampered far too much by the likes of Mourinho with all that "Untouchables" bullshit. There can't be a phasing out with this lot- its either sell them or play them.

But as we saw last season, they won't be happy with being phased out. Off the back of the CL win they'll still believe it's in the best interests of the club for them to play as many games as possible.

We're playing at the most 10 games more than we did last year, and that's only if we get to the final of the CWC, League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League. More likely we'll end up playing only 1 or 2 games more than we did last season. We played 61 games last season. 13 CL, 38 PL, 7 FA Cup, and 3 League Cup matches. The most we can have this season is: Community Shield (1) Super Cup (1) CWC (2) CL (13) FA Cup (7) League Cup (6) PL (38) That comes up to 68, and realistically speaking we're not going to play much more than 60: 12 CL (semi final exit) 38 PL 4 FA Cup (we can't win it every year, can we?) 3 League Cup 1 Community Shield 1 Super Cup 2 CWC That comes out to 61. Identical to what we played last season. The only 'rotation' will be perhaps one start a month, at the very most, for fatigue. I can't see players like Lampard/Ramires/Marin/Oscar/whoever else being happy with that. This is why keeping guys that don't expect to play that often, is far better for squad depth than to pack your team with star players who demand 50 starts a season.
