I don't know if I should speak English, it's an Italian forum and I find it strange to post in English. How bad is google translate? Do my posts make sense in Italian? Edit: After seeing what Rospo said, I will post in English That's a very good question. Some of the media think it will be Benítez, I hope not he is awful. I don't think we can bring anyone in that will do much better than him. Mourinho won't come back, Hiddink just joined Anzhi, we don't want van Gaal or Lippi. I guess the best we could probably get if we sacked Villas-Boas would be Hitzfeld.

Hello DJ, I've joined your forum Please excuse my Italian, I am using google translate and the only Italian I know is Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Hazard, a couple of decent centre midfielders that can offer something other than being able to run around all day and/or take long shots, 2 full backs who are capable of attacking and defending and someone who can be a creative force to take some of the pressure away from Mata. Another striker, to phase Torres out, would also be in order but I suppose we can get by with Sturridge and Lukaku for a few months. That looks around 100 million pounds, if we are able to sell a few players, such as Lampard, Ferreira, Meirieles and Malouda, we could get around 40 million for those, and I'd imagine getting them, as well as Drogba, Kalou and the other soon-to-be free agents would save around 40 million in wages. We hopefully won't actually be spending a fortune.

Why not Lukaku? We've hardly given him a chance this season to prove that he's more than just raw power. Of those 4 I'd like Falcao the most, Cavani is certainly one of the best going around but for some reason I feel he won't be a success at Chelsea.

Hello

Not as such, I'm sure he went shot less. That's not entirely his fault though, many of the others were too happy to take potshots from distance.
-
Give him some credit mate, at least he was trying. More than I can say for the likes of Meireiles.
-
He is still strong physically, but I don't think he has the motivation to play well regularly. When he plays for Côte d'Ivoire, he plays much better because he still wants to win something with his country.

I think the time has come for Villas-Boas to be a bit pragmatic. Suck up to the legends, ally yourself with them at every possible opportunity, then get rid of them as soon as they expire their political usefulness, all whilst building a cult of personality akin to Mourinho's, a la Stalin with the similarly vicious left and right wings of the old Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

We had those 2, plus a couple from corners, and one late on that Drogba fluffed. We also had a half chance, where Ivanovic dribbled some 50 metres with the ball but couldn't quite get enough space to shoot, although I think if that was a striker who'd gotten in that position, he would have had a go.
-
He was awful this morning, and from what I've heard, has been so for some time now. Cut our losses and get rid of him, I'd accept even 3 or 4 million for this clown.

What will sacking AVB actually achieve?
capriccioso replied to Tomo's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
He must stay. We cannot afford to change manager yet again. We finally have a manger in a position where he can effectively end the player power that has so plagued our club since before José left- simply by releasing the main politicians within our squad, Drogba, who currently rules the roost, and Lampard, who looks like he's had enough of being demoted. The others involved, such as Terry and Cech, won't really bother with it as much as they'll lose key allies this summer, and won't have the power any more to challenge a manager. I hope we give him a sizeable war chest during the off-season. Something in the vicinity of 100 million pounds, and hopefully we can garner some 50-60 million through sales. That should allow us to buy 5-6 good young players, with hunger and desire, and without delusions of political supremacy over managers. -
I think, since we'll hopefully be letting go of ~ 8 players, we have to match that with players we bring in. We can get a couple of reserves promoted, but we'll still need to make in excess of 5 signings.

Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

As a huge Blackadder fan, thats a :goodpost: -
Who's been voting for Bosingwa?

Sacking Villas-Boas at this point would achieve nothing. Not even José Mourinho could achieve anything with this squad. Get rid of the players.

That was the worst fucking performance I've seen by a Chelsea defence. What the fuck was that? Raul Meireles and Lampard need to leave right now. Raul was a fuckwit on the pitch, and Lampard, who the fuck do you think you are? You come on and take 2 wasteful long range shots that wouldn't have gone in if I was goalkeeper in 20 minutes and that's all you contribute? Fuck off, you've had your time here and I respect you for that but its apparent now that you've become a waste of space. The entire back 4 should be dropped or perhaps even fined wages for that. Credit to the attackers, at least they managed to fashion a few chances. Mata played well today, Malouda and Sturridge weren't too bad and Drogba was ineffectual but that's hardly his fault. I'm glad I don't watch Chelsea often these days. I don't know how you people can deal with watching such shit on a regular basis, this kind of thing usually has me fuming for most of the day.
-
I think we're fucked. We've been in awful form of late, we would do well to keep it scoreless then steal a win with some flukey 35 yarder/own goal.
-
Look at this. 5 months to go in his Chelsea career, and he's still more bothered than the manager to provide a team talk. It also shows that he is the top dog at Chelsea, and the arm band around Terry's shoulder is nothing more than a scrap of cloth: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/236241/Didier-Drogba-delivers-Chelsea-team-talk-in-tunnel/?

The decisive moment in our season will start in Italy
capriccioso replied to BLionheart's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
UEFA don't hate the English, imo they just hate upstart clubs like us that upset the status quo. We come barging in with no history and threaten to be the greatest force in football, UEFA don't want to see the big Italian 3, Spanish and English duo's as well as Bayern Munich lose their power. So they keep coming up with shit to keep clubs like us, Man City, Anzhi etc. down. FFP is something that supports my opinion, there will be absolutely no chance of clubs like AFC Wimbledon becoming the champion of Europe. I have to agree though, these next couple of weeks will be vital in shaping our future, not just our season. -
Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas
capriccioso replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
It's not about being more powerful than them. They have the respect and like of Roman. Drogba has previously (working with Cech and Ballack) engineered the sacking of a manager, by basically talking to Roman and asking him to get rid of him. If he really is bothered, he can do it again, especially when you consider Scolari actually performed slightly better than Villas-Boas. -

Worse than Scolari? Wow, that would take some doing! -
I wouldn't gloat just yet. Napoli could (and probably will if we keep playing like we did against Everton) beat us by a similar margin.

I'm sick of all these managerial philosophies. Come in and be pragmatic, you won't make a lasting impression on the squad anyway as you'll be sacked in 24 months so why bother? If only all our (or any) managers brought that attitude. We'd be a lot better off. All I have against him at this point are awful substitutions and poor work in the transfer market. Romeu and Mata have been good, yes, but the signings of Cahill and Lukaku seem pointless. I'm also unhappy with the treatment he gave Alex. He's also caved and allowed the players to gain power over him. Tactically, he is not very astute but at least if he figures out our strengths and plays to them, thats all we really need. Motivation is something I've noticed has been lacking since "bad moment". I'm not sure this is the managers fault, I think our senior core have simply got the attitude that enough is enough, we've had successful enough careers, we don't need to bother anymore.
