Have to agree with all the comments here. He doesnt get half the recognition he deserves, especially from fans outside of Chelsea. But hey, thats anybody elses loss, to have such a good player on our team is nothing but proud!

I know exactly what you mean. My facebook has become full of people joking and sounding pleased about it. Saying his 'shocking form and fitness' this season meant he shouldnt have been going to the WC in the first place. I dont get it. Like you said, most matters change when it comes to national teams. Surely most people would be disappointed if any big England player got injured so close to the WC- obviously not!

Couldnt suck any more eh? FA cup final and a WC year!

Well thats one way to stuff up your world cup summer!

Just got back from the game (the joys of going to uni round the corner from Deepdale!). Some good atmosphere down in our end, and we played well, they didnt make it overly easy for us. Glad to see Sturridge and Anelka on the scoresheet! Hopefully Lamps sub was just a precaution, he was limping abit before being taken off and something wasnt right but hopefully its nothing serious.

It can just be abit hit and miss. Either these older players tend to make it or they dont, and thing of the 'hype' around a lot of them aswell. A certain mix is good and everything. Though your point about Arsenal, they may have gone trophy less for numerous years but when all the youngsters come through, they could very well be more of a force.

Its a great position to be in, if nothing else. No reason why we cant build on...besides, who doesnt wanna be top at christmas!

^ I agree. Its not like we bought hugely this summer but knowing the transfer window is there and at least having the opportunity should we need it is the thing going. Saying that we're lucky with the squad we have now and theres no doubt we can still achieve great things.
