  1. I share the above sentiments - when Jose says he's bringing him into the squad I assume he means a couple of bench appearances and possibly 5 minutes at the end of our FA Cup 5th round match if he's lucky.
  2. I rate Bertrand highly, he always plays well when called upon and would have happily seen him start for us this season - or start more anyway. Although obviously if you don't rate him as highly then I can see why you may not be as bothered but I do think people who pass him off as just a 'dependable squad player, and nothing more' underestimate his ability.
  3. If he does well he rises his stock for the summer so he can then be sold. It's quite obvious that's why he's going on loan. Sadly another young player who we've failed to develop, after coming back from a good loan, to simply be a part of the squad. Some of those players left early in their Chelsea career. Bertrand shows patience/loyalty, and of course still ends up being pushed out. He's a good LB, will improve Villa immensely, and will get some deserved regular playing time after 2 and a half years of waiting.
  4. Although we haven't seen much of him to gauge a playing style, a lot of features I read about him seem to see him as some sort of box to box midfielder. He does have the leggy stride of a Yaya Toure type player but not sure if his fitness and defending abilities are anywhere near good enough. Certainly now he's a no.10/winger type of player.
  5. As usual people looking for any excuse to start shouting obscenities at a player who doesn't deserve it, still people trying to kid themselves that he's the devil's spawn and not good enough for us. All he's said there is that Liverpool was the right move. Things at Chelsea weren't working so he went to Liverpool. And obviously it has worked out for him, (and not worked out for us). He then goes onto (shock horror) praise the club he plays for(read the quote where he praises Liverpool. No conparison with Chelsea). And then people try to say they're not bothered by him leaving, let it go.

  8. I read somewhere that Derby don't have any other options other than their main striker, maybe that's where Bamford comes in.
  9. ^Thorgan's extract from this article: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9094094/targets-belgium Basically Sky Sports' Belgian correspondent's views on 5 young Belgians that are being linked with PL teams. Seems like he rates Thorgan Hazard highly, and he is actually quite critical of other players in the article.
  10. Thorgan Hazard Age: 20 Nationality: Belgium Club: Zulte Waregem (on loan from Chelsea) Position: Winger Good fit for: A Premier League loan move The wordHazard is hoping to follow in his brother's footsteps at Stamford Bridge but he is aware that a loan switch elsewhere is likely to be his next move. "After one-and-a-half years at Zulte Waregem I feel I'm getting closer to the level of Chelsea's first team, but I'm not there yet," he told Sport Voetbal Magazine. "I don't think Chelsea will be the next step in my career. If you see the difficult times Kevin De Bruyne, a Belgian international, is having at Chelsea, if you see how many other stars they have on loan all over Europe. I hope my next step will be one abroad, on loan." Kristof's expert view The brother of Eden is the best midfielder in the Belgian league this season, scoring nine times and assisting 10. He's a different type of player as his brother, who's an explosive winger. He's less talented, but more determined and physically stronger than Eden. He plays as a real number 10, has a good technique, dribbles well, has excellent passing and scores goals. He also has pace and dictates the tempo. He has a good chance of winning the Golden Boot, the award for the best player of 2013 in the Belgian League. He really is the beating heart of Zulte Waregem. He is likely to play there for the rest of the season unless Chelsea decide to call him back (which he doesn't expect) although Anderlecht are also keen to take him for six months. Next year he wants to join a team outside of Belgium on loan and his ultimate dream is to play with his brother in the same team.
  11. Chelsea are ready to send Jeremie Boga away on-loan. The young midfielder has been a star with the U21s this season. The Sun says Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic are all keen.
  12. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/9087710/romelu-lukaku-insists-he-has-no-problems-with-chelsea-manager-jose-mourinho "I've had Jose Mourinho as a coach for two months," he added. "Something special. "He's building the foundations of an unbeatable machine again. We didn't have problems." Lukaku found further respect for the Portuguese tactician after Mourinho received his request for Premier League football with understanding. He went on to say: "He wanted me to stay and asked me why I wanted to leave. "In some interviews my words were twisted, but the truth is that he accepted to let me leave. "He did understand what I wanted. That's what I really appreciate in him." "Am I getting ready for Chelsea next season?," he asked rhetorically. "Yes, why else would I have signed a contract for five years? "I will return to Chelsea as one of the best strikers in the Premier League." "I still want to become one of the best strikers in the world," he expressed. "I hope that you can put me in line with [Edinson] Cavani, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, [Robin] Van Persie, [Luis] Suarez and [Robert] Lewandowski in two years' time. "I analyse them all. I look at their movements. The presence of Ibrahimovic, the left foot of Van Persie, the right foot of Cavani, the movement of Lewandowski and the dribbles of Suarez. "He is that unpredictable. In three years of the Premier League I haven't seen anyone doing what he did."
  13. Sorry should have said I meant experience at the top level, experience in Europe, and big game experience. KDB only started playing at a top European league last season in 12/13, Schurrle has been a regular in the Bundesliga since 2009. KDB did have some group stage games in the CL with Genk, one of them against us of course but no experience in the knockouts. KDB also only started starting for Belgium around the time he joined Bremen.Oscar is maybe more similar to KDB, he only came to Europe last year. But when he was being bedded in, he wasn't reduced to starts every month despite being more inexperienced than those around him. He was allowed reasonable minutes to bed in, and it didn't hinder us, he improved over the course of that season. Why can't KDB do the same? Also a nice piece from John Chapman:http://www.belgofoot.be/we-still-need-to-talk-about-kevin/
  14. Where did I say he had an amazing game? I said he was ok. Meanwhile there have been people who genuinely said things ilke 'Luiz completed more long passes than him, HE'S WANK'. And throughout the post you seem to keep referring to how I want KDB given chances other the other 5 players we have for the attacking role. I don't. What I don't want is him to be given one start a month and unless he has a MOTM performance it stays that way. At what point does this suddenly turn to me not being happy if Chelsea win if KDB doesn't play. I am also less than impressed with how Jose has used Kalas (who he said had done enough on loan to come back and be a part of the squad in summer) and Bertrand this season. You seem to keep thinking giving KDB more game time will also somehow hinder the team, again starting to exaggerate about how the other 5 AM's will have to move out the way for KDB. I happen to think it could simply give us another viable option, which is only good for the side, because I don't believe he's any less talented than the other 5 AMs at all. More inexperienced - yes - but still no reason for his exile from the first team proceedings.
  15. KDB wasn't awful last night for a start. Those 4 starts have come in a period 4 months. A start a month, what do you expect him to do? It is baffling that people seem to expect a masterclass performance and nothing else. You mention he's not creating chances - what chances did Schurrle, for instance, create last night? It has already been mentioned how KDB had a big hand in the goal, forced a good save from the 'keeper and I can remember at least one chance from a low cross that went to Ba. Willian has 1 goal and 1 assist in 11 appearances, Schurrle has 3 goals and 1 assist in 17 appearances. None of their stats is hardly inspiring. 4 of those 9 appearances were subs. You can't just manipulate stats to suit your lopsided view on de Bruyne's time at Chelsea so far. No one is saying he should start every game. I do believe, however, that he has been misused. Can anyone justify getting dropped to train with the reserves for a week and no appearances for a month because of one bad game, or is this some sort of selective treatment that can only happen to KDB. Starting once a month is not enough to build a case to get into the team, do you really believe that if KDB was rotated in and out the side our squad would be worse off? He is a good player who could quite easily contribute a lot to our season if given the chance - just like he has for Belgium and just like he did for Bremen.
  16. This is a lie. How do you explain the goal then? Or the time he set Ba up from a low cross or forced a good save from the 'keeper? If we treated other players like we treated KDB and they would be the same. Especially a young player with his relative inexperience. Especially one who actually started the season well. First bad appearance in the C1C - boom, dropped to training with the reserved and didn't make an appearance for a month. Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Willian and Schurrle have all had more chances than him and more bad games than him. They've also had some good games, as they don't start once a month. Seen nothing to suggest KDB is any less talented than them.
  17. He was decent tonight. People saying he's 'wank' I have to assume have a limited knowledge of football. Someone mentioned Luiz completed more passes than de Bruyne; therefore de Bruyne had a 'wank' match. Neanderthal logic, Neanderthal language. Luiz is a central defender, KDB was an attacking midfielder. Luiz will have probably completed more long passes then the whole front four. How you expect KDB to complete more 'long' passes when he's meant to be impacting the game in the final third defies belief. Not only that, how many 'long' passes did KDB actually MISplace then?
  18. Did fine in his 10 minute cameo. Hit a 60 yard pass to Hazard's chest and set up a chance for Ba.
  19. Considering we got him got £8million rising to £10m Piazon would already need a big bid to take him away from us.
  20. Chelsea Youth ‏@chelseayouth 1m Think of all the #CFC loanees at Vitesse, Van Aanholt is the one closest to/most deserving of a shot at a squad place back at Chelsea. He's developed into a player capable of handling himself physically, impacts the game in attack, secure enough in defence and very composed.
  21. http://inbedwithmaradona.com/100-2013-review/2013/11/15/thibaut-courtois IBWM say nice things about Courtois. (IBWM is just a football blog, but genuinely very informative about the players they feature).
  22. Mourinho may just not be a fan of him, like Rafa clearly was. Although I'm surprised he hasn't looked at utilising him, Swift or Baker as a 5th option in midfield now MVG's out for the season.
