If he was a young player on reasonable wages, he would be considered to have done okay. Now he is the seventh most paid footballer on the planet with huge expectations and compared to any other striker who earns even half that amount it's hard to find someone who has done worse than him. Being Chelsea's undisputed number one striker and with the teammates he currently has playing beside him he should be contributing as much as the likes of Van Persie or Aguero are. Hell, at the moment I would even settle for him being as good as Jermain Defoe but we can only keep on dreaming...

I hear you. I don't even remember how many times I've had an American ask me what it's like to have polar bears walking the streets here in Finland even though it's a fact that not a single polar bear even lives in this country. Ignorant cunts.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2229167/Chelsea-set-sign-Wallace-Fluminense-5m-deal.html#ixzz2BX2RAFHd Daily Mail seems to think the transfer will be made official on Monday. According to them he would then join Chelsea as early as January or alternatively be loaned back to Fluminense till next summer.

If we're looking to buy a new striker, Fernando Llorente would be a realistic option and I think we should at least be looking into that. Maybe he's not exactly on the level of Falcao or Cavani but neither of them are available in January and would cost at least five times as much even if they were. Llorente's contract is up next summer and he's been sidelined this season by Marcelo Bielsa after he declined to sign a new contract and tried to force a move in the summer transfer window so I'd guess he's willing to leave in January and not wait till next summer to find a new club. A maximum of £10-15m for a very much proven goalscorer doesn't sound all that bad, does it?

That's just the Belgian in you talking, no need for comments like that here. At the moment he's definitely not better than Cech, our reliable number one keeper for 8 wonderful years (most of which you probably haven't even seen if you only started following Chelsea since the Belgian revolution, but nothing wrong with that of course). Despite that, I believe he has the potential to become a far better goalkeeper than Cech after the head injury and that is why at some point we simply have to put aside our emotions and make Courtois our first choice goalie or else we will lose him. Maybe one or two more seasons out on loan and then another season where Cech and Courtois could share the responsibilities and Thibaut could also learn from one of the best before finally taking over as a regular starter. Cech could then either accept the situation like Cudicini once did and continue as number two (obviously the ideal scenario) or move on and play a couple more seasons at the highest level with some other team before retiring.

Too many penalties and tap-ins, he's shit.

I'm feeling sad. I was just informed that a former classmate of mine has died today. I wasn't even that close to him and hadn't seen the guy in a year or so but we occasionally kept in touch on facebook and it was only a few days ago when I last heard from him. At this point I have no idea what happened to him but some sort of accident would be my guess. He was only 20 years old.

Not a chance we'd be willing to let Courtois leave on a permanent deal in part exchange for Falcao. Courtois is already worth around 20m (see De Gea's market value a year ago and Courtois is doing better in the same team than De Gea ever did) and his value is only going to increase if he continues to perform like that. Maybe we could make an exception here and extend the loan for one more year instead of sticking to the original plan of loaning him out to a PL team next year but no matter how good Falcao is, I say it's not worth permanently letting go of a future top3 keeper in the world. Not to mention Atletico would make a huge profit on him in a few years when Barcelona or some other top club desperately in need of a goalkeeper came calling, making us look like idiots in the transfer market once again.

Kevin taking a bath with his teammate Theodor Gebre Selassie after today's game. I have to say that looks kinda gay.

Come on Suarez, get booked you fucking cunt!

That's a woman, presumably his wife.

No it doesn't. If we lose this one but win Juventus and Nordsjaelland, we'd end up with ten points whereas Juve could only achieve a maximum of nine points if they won the other two games. That being said I don't fancy our chances of getting the three points at Juve, so a win against Shakhtar is a must. Even a draw in Italy would be a good result imo so we can't really afford to go into the game with the away win as our only chance of qualifying. Last year's group stage was tight enough when we had to win Valencia at Stamford Bridge to go through but beating Juventus at their stadium is on a whole new level compared to that.
-
If we want to qualify from the group we definitely have to win this one. It's going to be hard even if we do get the three points but if we don't then it's pretty much game over, assuming Juventus don't fuck up against Nordsjaelland again. Hopefully Mata is fit to start...

Who would've thought that this topic is back on top after Fellaini scored two good goals in the same match? Why are some of you so interested in his performances when he's played up front with Jelavic and Mirallas because he would most definitely not play in that position for Chelsea and his role would be much more limited? Don't get me wrong, I rate the guy and think he's a great player but I don't believe he would be ideal for our team at the moment. We would probably play him in the double pivot but in my opinion he would be wasted there as all of his recent performances have been further up the pitch when he's played almost as a striker. If we bought him and gave him a free role behind the striker I believe he could continue to impress but let's not kid ourselves and think he would drop any out of Mata, Hazard and Oscar to the bench. Okay, being a very physical lad he could maybe offer us something completely different for the AM positions compared to our current options but that's hardly a priority at the moment and if we're looking to improve the midfield I think we're better off looking elsewhere. I have to admit I would find it very difficult to say no to buying Fellaini if he was available for a reasonable price and he wanted to come but we shouldn't expect him to keep scoring goals every week like he does now.
-
Not good enough, this was a game we definitely should have won. None of the guys did well but Cole, Romeu and Torres were abysmal and should be dropped for the next game against Shakhtar. Di Matteo really needs to sort this out as soon as possible because if he doesn't our season is going to be over before Christmas. Oh well, there's always a silver lining to everything and today it's City drawing at West Ham and Tottenham losing to Wigan at Three Point Lane. Fuck you AVB!
-
It's better he doesn't get too emotionally attached to one club and also he needs a season on loan at a Premier League club to get used to playing and of course living in England. If he stays at Atletico for a third consecutive season I would say he's as good as gone and will never be Chelsea's first choice goalkeeper. Not because he's not good enough but because sooner or later another top club will snap him up if it is becoming clear we aren't going to get the best out of him.

Danny's dance moves are horrible. A shame I couldn't watch the game properly because my ISP failed me and I could only use the internet connection I have for my iPad which is slow as fuck. I managed to get some laggy stream up and running but the quality wasn't good. A great win anyway, even though I would have preferred to win before extra time. Now Mata and a couple of other important first team players had to play the full 120 minutes and that's definitely not good but at the moment it's the victory that matters. :blue scalf:

Dafuq? And you honestly call yourself a Chelsea fan?
-
Fuck, my internet connection has been down all day. If they don't fix the problem soon, I'm afraid I won't be able to watch the game.

A recall on the cards for January? Last week Di Matteo mentioned about the possibility of getting him back in the winter transfer window and today Clarke didn't seem too confident about keeping him for the whole season by saying it's out of his hands. From what I saw yesterday I was very impressed by Lukaku's movement. If he can make himself available in such good positions as he did yesterday with players like Morrison and Gera supplying him, I would very much like to see what he can do with our three little maestros. His finishing should have been better as he got two great chances in the first half, both of which he wasted but a goal early in the second half somewhat made up for it. West Brom play Southampton next, hopefully Lukaku can start again and score a couple of goals against their defense which has been the worst in the Premier League so far.
-
My thoughts too. If we get even one referee decision our way on Wednesday, that's all people are going to remember and they can then take moral high ground and tell us to stop whining about the events of yesterday because they too are not complaining about the cup game where the referee was in our favour. Only difference is that yesterday's game has potential to be a title decider come May but this one is just some second rate cup clash. Despite this being a not too important cup game I still want to smash those cunts and get even a little bit of revenge. Cech Azpi - Cahill - Luiz - Bertrand Ramires - Romeu Mata - Hazard - Marin Sturridge If Marin is fit enough to start, he should but if not then Moses can take his place.
-
Can't blame him for the sending off because that was a ridiculous decision by Clattenburg but Torres was useless today and was rightfully about to be substituted for Sturridge before the red card. Watching the game I couldn't help but be jealous about United's options up front. All of their strikers offer far more to the team than Torres does and for example Van Persie was all over the pitch today, always dropping deep to fight for the ball but still he always managed to be in the right place at the right time when they were attacking. Torres just stood there with two or three defenders always marking him out of the game and still he didn't do anything to make himself available. Very frustrating to watch... If there's one good thing about him getting sent off today, it's the fact that we get to see Sturridge play on Wednesday when we face those United cunts again in the cup.
-
Great effort and I'm so proud of all the boys in blue. For obvious reasons it wasn't enough to get any points today but no surprises there, that's United for ya. I hope Robbie tears that cunt Clattenburg a new one in his press conference after the match. Doesn't matter one bit whether he gets a lengthy touchline ban or not but something has to be done about the clear corruption of the FA. It's a fucking disgrace. Btw, why is Clattenburg not included in the MotM voting?

@SkySportsStatto: Chelsea are the only side in PL history with more wins (13) than defeats (12) against Man U

Sure, but the thing is that the players keeping Romeu, Azpilicueta and Bertrand out of the team are actually playing well and there's no need to drop them other than giving them the occasional rest. Of course those three maybe should have played a game or two more but it's definitely not the same as it is with Torres because with his form he should never be starting games in the first place. If Mikel, Ivanovic or Cole start playing like shit on a regular basis I'm sure Di Matteo will drop them and give the younger ones a chance but somehow Torres seems to be undroppable.
