Falcao did that too with Porto and Mata with Valencia. What's wrong with wanting the club who made him the player he is today to get as much money as possible from the sale? Malaga are in financial trouble and selling Isco for a hefty transfer fee will help them a lot.
-
That was hardly the point in my post and even if Belgium are ranked number ten that still doesn't change the fact that Courtois was very much unproven at the time he joined Chelsea. But that's enough of that, no need arguing about this any further. Let's just wait and see what happens.
-
Sacked at half time?
-
I won't complain any further, at least in this thread, but one has to wonder what made him include an unfit Benayoun in the lineup, a man who has not played football in God knows how long. At this point, the only option that makes any sense is that he's actually taking the piss with the fans who constantly slate him. Benayoun is probably not even going to play so why include him at all? Instead someone like Islam Feruz could have been on the bench and if we're winning comfortably then maybe he could even have got some minutes.
-
Benayoun on the bench instead of Feruz or some other promising youngster, are you fucking kidding me Benitez?
-
André Ayew would be great but I doubt we're really in for him. Who is this Alessandrini dude?
-
As an unproven player I mean a guy who had only one season of professional football under his belt in a league which, with all due respect, is not even in the top10 of European football. £8m for a guy like that is a lot of money and Atletico aside, which clubs were willing to pay that much for him? And where have I said that Chelsea have been largely involved with his development and achievements so far? I am merely stating the fact that Courtois is a player of Chelsea FC and he should act accordingly. So far he hasn't done anything to suggest otherwise and everything is just the normal media bullshit but soon there will be a point where Thibaut needs to make a decision. Will he fight to become Chelsea's number one keeper and be willing to leave the comfort of Spain or will he burn his bridges to everyone at Chelsea FC, club and fans included, to pursue his career elsewhere. All I'm saying is that option number two won't be easy for him and things will probably get ugly if he decides to go that way. Personally I rate the guy to be one of the finest goalkeepers in the world already and think we should do everything in our power to keep him at Chelsea, including sacrificing Cech for Courtois within a few years, but Courtois himself needs to make some sacrifices too.
-
I disagree. The way I see it, he signed a contract till 2016 and should he become a troublemaker Chelsea could easily destroy his development by letting him sit in the stands and train with the youth team for the remainder of his contract without letting him play a single first team match ever. There goes that national team place forever... Of course that wouldn't be in anyone's best interest but it's ridiculous to say that Chelsea don't have a say in Courtois' future and that should the player decide it's better for him to continue his career in Spain permanently he could just play Chelsea for a fool and leave the club who took the risk of paying £8m for a 19-year-old unproven keeper for peanuts. He could easily have been just another Matej Delac, who Chelsea also paid a hefty sum for with nothing to show for it a few years later, but Courtois has proven to be well worth that money and his value has now multiplied. If he doesn't give a fuck about playing for Chelsea and isn't willing to work for his place (that means spending a year or two on loan at some club which he might not fancy as much as Atleti) and wants to leave to join Barcelona or Atletico, I'm sure Chelsea will have no problem with that as long as the price matches his value to Chelsea, which would be something around £25m in my opinion. I can't see anyone paying that much and Chelsea have absolutely no need of letting him join our European rivals Barcelona for anything below that. With Atletico a deal could probably be worked with Courtois joining Atletico in a part-exchange deal for Falcao, but that's a whole new story. And yes, Atletico might be paying the player's wages now that everything has worked out brilliantly but had he been another Matej Delac they would simply have sent him back and we would have ended up with an expensive reserve keeper on hefty wages and absolutely zero market value. It was Chelsea who took the risk here and not Atletico, so he should show some fucking respect. Just to be clear, so far I haven't seen him say or do anything disrespectful towards Chelsea but this speculation started when someone said something along the lines of Courtois not owing us anything and that he should be let go if he prefers playing in Spain.
-
Aren't you forgetting one of the most important things here? In 2011 he agreed a long term contract with Chelsea, which I'm sure gave him a nice little pay rise compared to what he earned at Genk and he had no problem accepting that and at the time he was also happy with the plan we had for his development. It was Chelsea who loaned him out to a top culb like Atletico Madrid to gain valuable experience and because of that experience he has been able to play for the Belgium national team in the first place. Before that he wasn't even considered to play ahead of Mignolet. I think it would be rather disrespectful to the club who owns him to decline a loan move to an English club just because he's so settled in Madrid, because if he is to become Chelsea's number one keeper he needs to show he's willing to work for it and if that means he need to spend a year on loan at some less glamorous city than Madrid then so be it. He has to realize that Chelsea have to make sacrifices too regarding Cech if we're just going to hand out Courtois a starting spot in the Chelsea lineup so he really shouldn't be developing an unhealthy attitude here. And do you honestly think his place in the Belgium national team would be threatened if he played at some English top half side? Mignolet plays for fucking Sunderland and isn't even doing a very good job there...

Post of the month. I was just discussing this matter with a United supporting friend of mine. He brought up a very good point when he compared the ballboy's actions to those of a pitch invader who is only there to delay the game. If some drunken idiot, against the rules, enters the pitch and starts running around, how many referees would give a red card to a player if he chased the bastard down and somewhat lays his hands on him so that the stewards can come and collect the cunt so that the game can continue as soon as possible? How would that differ from this fiasco? The way I see it that ballboy is just as bad as a drunken pitch invader, both are doing something they're not supposed to do and with their actions are delaying the game. In fact, the ballboy's actions may be considered even worse because it's his job (and his only job) to help the players continue the game without interruptions and his sole intention seemed to be to delay the game as much as possible. I believe the big deal with this Hazard incident is not the act itself, but the fact this supposed 'victim' is only a 'child'. Personally I don't consider a lad who's old enough to be drinking and driving an expensive car his millionaire dad has bought him a child anymore but hey, that's just me.
-
Spot on, apart from the last part which is classic Joey Barton. I'm surprised pretty much no one, Barton aside, has called for Swansea to be fined for this. Their job is to get the ballboys to do their job and nothing else. Of course it's normal for them to take advantage of the situation and delay the game a little when the home team are ahead but what that cunt did was laughable, shielding the ball with his whole body so the game can't continue. And who the hell is a ballboy at 17 anyway? Too bad he's the son of the Swansea director Martin Morgan. When the game was still on I was calling Swansea to be fined a hefty sum for that and thought about how hilarious it would be if they then sent the bill to the ballboy's family, but it's not so funny anymore after I found out the kid's the son of a multi-millionaire hotel owner. By the way, Chelsea stayed in the ballboy's dad's hotel.
-
Apparently the ballboy's girlfriend is on twitter and she has threatened to kill Hazard after this incident. By the way, the sheepshagger kid's girlfriend is named Lamb. You just couldn't make this stuff up.

Yeah, I'm sure the board are very proud of their decision to sell Meireles and loan out Essien without buying anyone to replace them. At the time everyone could see that those decisions will come back to haunt us and it didn't even take very long, did it? When Romeu got injured for the season I thought to myself that must have been the point where even the blind cunts at the board would realize that at least one new midfielder to replace those three (!!!) players would be needed but so far there haven't even been any rumours and instead they only started playing Luiz in midfield. For fucks sake, if they're worried about not buying anyone because the next manager who may or may not be coming in the summer might want someone else instead they should have at least seeked to sign someone on loan. A loan signing similar to David Pizarro to Man City last year would have been a perfect short-term solution to help us with our problems but I guess it was too much to ask for...

I laugh at the people who go on about Hazard being some kind of monster and the ballboy is just some innocent child who's like 10 years old, when in fact the truth is the "boy" is actually a 17-year-old guy who, judging from his profile picture, is old enough to be drinking and driving a fancy car. His tweets reveal he had this all planned in advance so he gets absolutely no sympathy from me. Hazard was of course beyond stupid to act the way he did and deserved his red card too but it's definitely not as bad as the media are trying to make it look. Just watch the Daily Mail article and especially the pictures of the incident and tell me they don't have an agenda here. If someone has not seen the incident and sees only those pictures it looks like Hazard is kicking a young lad in the head and then stomps on his back. In those pictures the kid looks like 12 too.

Benitez is lucky that all the attention has turned to the ballboy and not him. What the fuck was that today, Rafa? Two goals down and he decides to bring in two new defenders. I was watching the game with my brother and at the start of the second half I told him Benitez is going to wait at least till the 70th minute before doing anything and his substitutions will be shit. And what does the waiter do? Brings in two new defenders. Well done, Rafa, well done. Maybe he should just focus that the players get their lunch on time because clearly as a manager he's absolutely clueless. Roman has sacked managers for way less, why does the same not apply to Benitez? Today makes it three competitions he has fucked up since taking over only two months ago. Sure, the Premier League title was never there for the taking to begin with and I can't blame Rafa too much for that, even though the gap between us and United has grown since the waiter took charge. Losing miserably both the Club World Cup and the League Cup which no longer had any decent teams left is simply unacceptable and he should be sacked on the spot. Oh wait, not really. They should use the Di Matteo treatment and wake him up 4am in the morning to tell him he's fired.

Something like that would be great. Obviously it would be a big risk playing Oscar and Lampard in the pivot but being 0-2 down we really can't play it too safe. A couple of goals with an overly attacking lineup early on and some luck to keep them from scoring and then hopefully a couple substitutions to balance the midfield. Other alternative would be to start with the more balanced lineup and then take risky substitutions if the scoreline isn't good enough for us but I have lost all faith in Rafa's abilities to make good substitutions at the right time so that's no the way to go imo.

Good old Joe Cole, watching that last highlight video brought back some very good memories. In his prime he was definitely one of my favorite players, too bad his career was ruined by injuries. Made a mistake in joining Liverpool but I'm glad he's left them now and it's good to see he's had a good start to his second spell at West Ham. Doesn't he have like a goal and two assists in three games or something?
-
Maybe a bit off topic, but which player you actually like at Chelsea? So far I've seen you say that Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Courtois etc. are all shit and it's funny because those happen to be the players many Chelsea fans are most excited about. Maybe you'd prefer someone like Downing instead?
-
Have you actually got anything good to say about any Chelsea player? More and more I'm beginning to believe you're just a troll but what is beyond me is why you even bother?
-
And to think some people actually wanted Maicon instead of this guy... Maicon has played what, 5 games for City and he's been shit every single time. That old timer is also nine years older than Azpilicueta and on massive wages too. Last summer I wanted either Debuchy or Azpilicueta and I'm very glad we ended up with César, although I have no doubt Debuchy would have been great for us too. I have to admit, that even though I knew Azpilicueta was a quality player he has exceeded my expectations. I definitely didn't expect him to make the right-back position his own so early in his Chelsea career. Of course it's partly because Terry has been unavailable so much this season that Ivanovic has had to play CB but with the kind of performances Azpilicueta has given us I don't expect Ivanovic to take back the RB position even after Terry has returned.

A good win but not a good second half performance. It has gotten to a point where the first half is usually great but something happens at half time and the opponent completely dominates the second half, doesn't matter if it's a shit team like QPR or a top side. Something needs to be done about this, surely someone at the club has noticed this too because us fans sure as hell do see it every time beforehand and it's frustrating.

Bring on Demba, sick of watching Torres. Great first half. Now let's see if Benitez has learned anything from the last games. If the team is once again half asleep after the break, I will punch someone.
-
Torres doesn't look like a ladyboy anymore, might have to stop using that nickname now.
-
The worst thing about this is that we again have to watch Torres play shit for at least 80 minutes before being subbed off. Most managers would at least have the balls to take him the hell away from the pitch if it's clear from the first minute that he didn't once again show up, but Benitez is too afraid to take off his golden boy.
-
Fuck, the ladyboy is starting. I'm not so excited about this game anymore...
