Exactly pay 32 million so Madrid have some cash to pay Torres's wages - I wasn't aboard the Costa train but if the deal involves Torres ALL ABOARD!
-
He is asked a question by the media and answers it. Anyhow other than saying Liverpool are a bigger club than us(which every player who joins them says) and saying people didn't believe in him at Chelsea - please dig out some of these quotes of him bitching about Chelsea. Personally I'd be livid if I was a striker and Fernando Torres was starting ahead of me.
-
The only goal celebrations I've found cringe worthy were Tevez; where he would take something that he had kept up his arsehole and place it in his mouth.
-
He is massively overrated by our fans, fantastic work rate but very little end product. For a 30 million pound player I feel that he gets away with a lot because he works very hard, needs to improve in both his final ball and chance taking. But please, do carry on the jizz fest
-
Salah is the most dangerous player we have on our bench - possibly Lampard. Can't bring Torres or Ba on expecting anything other than them falling on their arse a few times and loosing the ball Schurrle I sometimes forget we even have him
-
Never mind the fact that they were all over us even before he came on and Oscar/Ramires were awful in this match - blame Mikel
-
No intensity in the second half, barely created any chances the entire 90 minutes; invited West Brom to have a go at us. We have to face it that with current form of Oscar; the end product of Willian and the lackluster strikers we have - when Hazard has an off day we are clueless. Especially when players don't approach matches seriously. I dont know what they expected West Brom to accept the result and roll over - they were simply far more motivated to get a revenge for not winning earlier in the season and our players lacked the same motivation. I would place some blame for today on Jose for not firing them up and making strange substitutions. At the same time it's not the end of the World - we lost to West Brom away the previous two years; just this weekend City dropped points to another relegation threatened team. But this is why I dont think we are going to be the main favorites for this season - we lack match winners. You can't bring on Mikel; Torres and Salah and expect them to change the match.
-
The truth is that Hazard chance where he failed to release the ball was our only clear cut chance in the second half West Brom were all over us in the second half
-
Salah our last hope
-
Off all the shitty strikers to score against us - fucking Anichebe
-
We've been bloody awful for the entire second half - not too sure what this is about, in a match where we need a result players don't seem to have any intensity about them
-
Mikel to bring on his nerves of steal into the match and his goal scoring form
-
Hazard needed to pass much earlier not sure what he was thinking - maybe he was surprised to see Torres in the box
-
Matic is massive
-
West Brom to move the bus in the second half allowing us to score a few more goals hopefully
-
Awesome assist by Luiz - our defenders breaking the deadlock
-
BRANA ANOTHER KEY GOAL!
-
Eto'o our best player thus far - the rest need to wake up
-
Jose not amused

You should look up how many millions were spend on Neymar, last I heard he cost around 80 million for Barca Balotelli has a worse record in both goal scoring and assisting over the last two years. He is 3 years older and cost Milan 25m. Also he is crazy El Shaarawy isn't a striker and has been awful ever since Balotelli arrived Benteke is older and is currently struggling - even in his poor form he would cost 25m at the very least. Mario Gotze would cost 40m at the very least. So basically all of the players you named are either older/worse or will cost more than Lukaku - great arguement
-
When you are buying Lukaku - you are buying one of the best youth strikers in the World - please tell me another player his age that is playing regularly in a top league and has as many goals and assists over the last two years. We bought him for nearly 20 million, if we were to sell him than 10 million profit is the least we should be looking to make.

And 21-year-old Dan Burn, who previously lined out for Darlington before his move to west London, could not believe how similar his Old Trafford debut felt to his days in English football’s fifth tier. ‘I was just saying to the lads that I’ve never headed that many balls since the Conference!’ said Burn.

No I don't believe that for a second myself, what other defensive midfielders offer is movement. Mikel is slow and doesn't move enough which is his main deficiency - if you look at Lucas for example he also offers very little going forward but covers a lot more ground at high speed. In our system we need a more mobile player than Mikel in midfield - that's the reason Matic was signed and Luiz has been playing there on occasions. Mikel would be a good defensive midfielder in a system that didn't rely on him to cover large spaces as it's required in our current system.

Lack of pressing would obviously be an issue since that's definitely be one of the things Jose would drill into any striker that we sign. But as we have seen with Hazard - Jose challenges players to do something and it's up to them to live up to expectations. I don't think it's a problem for Daniel to have this drilled into him. In terms of Tactical understanding - Daniel is very fluid know how to pull defenders out of position and his cleaver movement leads to chances even against packed defenses. I wouldn't say that Sturridge isn't the type of striker Jose likes in a team - I think first and foremost Jose looks for players that follow his instructions. All strikers have a selfish streak to them, usually for Sturridge it has been showcased when he is on a hat trick for Pool but very rarely when it's a close match. There are preconceived notions based on his game on the right wing for us, which is nothing like the way he plays for Liverpool - either on his own or in a more fluid system where Sturridge and Suarez both interchange positions. I saw enough against West Ham and United last season to think he would thrive with the type of service our attacking midfielders provide. He is the perfect striker in fast fluid football where the ball is passed into space or at the feet due to his movement; first touch and capability of beating defenders with both dribbling and speed. His conversation rate w/out penalties is absolutely class - he is more clinical than even Suarez/Kun. Basically he is the type of player we though we were getting when we signed Torres. First of all I doubt he would that much - his transfer fee would probably be similar to Costa. In terms of other clubs laughing at us, if Jose decides he is the man for the job than I don't see why we would care. Just like not caring when Mata was transfer or when we signed back Matic. What previous managers and transfer policies we had shouldn't effect us. And I would never care what other people think as long as Jose is calling the shots - if we are looking at Costa we should look at Sturridge their scoring records are pretty much the same in top flight football. They are both just about to hit their prime 24 and 25 year old respectively. They both offer different strengths and weaknesses but first and foremost they offer the most important thing we should be looking for - someone to put the ball in the back of the net and provide relief to our midfielders so they don't have to feel they have to do everything. Personally after Cavani/Suarez who are probably the two best striker that we "might" have a chance to sign. The next best thing we need to be aiming for are Costa/Sturridge/Mandzukic - not exploring the possibility of signing Sturridge just because we sold him an year and half ago would be a bad decision.

Mata is so much better than the rest of their players Rooney and RvP have been woeful so far
