Fantastic goal by Bamford for Derby
-
Remy is simply a lot better on the counter attack it's when teams don't allow Newcastle to counter that they struggle and Remy is usually isolated or ineffective. He does have the capability to score crackers out of no where from time to time
-
A few of you are being far to harsh on KdB, people forget he is a young lad - I'm sure if he had experience he might have stuck around but a young guy needs a bit of trust from his manager, not just a few games. Best of luck from him I think he is a quality attacking midfielder but sadly for him we have plenty of better players he needed to play ahead in order to develop and get used to the way we play.

My main concern over Looney isn't his age. I's the fact that his best position isn't playing as a lone striker - he is far more effective in the hole where his passing is being utilized as opposed to be marooned up top on his own and loosing his marbles. I think there is a reason why United went out to buy RvP when they had a chance. You could say that's probably due to their weak central midfield and needing to exploit Looney's creativity but than again I've always rated Looney's passing and vision as his best attribute. Secondary concerns are over his physical build which suggests he would age like an oversexed prostitute The third concern is his injury record. For a player at his age and wages he'd demand, you'd have to look at those factors as well. I'm sure he can have a good season or two here but injuries and age will catch up to him fairly quickly. He is a greedy scouse bastard, if Jose signs him than obviously I'd support the overweight cunt but hopefully we find an alternative

I hate Barca more than most of our rivals in the EPL, nothing will bring a smile to my face more than seeing Messi; Sergio; Xavi; Iniesta; Alves; Valdes etc in tears - I'd prefer we send them out personally but also know that, I would much rather not risk facing them at all in the CL. "More than a club - More than just cunts"
-
If by brilliantly, you mean - brilliantly fucking up our Title chances in the EPL
-
I don't know why you bother talking with different level, a player who was our top scorer in the League the previous season while playing out of position - didn't make an impact or take his chances. Torres hasn't managed to be top scorer in the League despite starting the majority of matches in his preferred position 3 seasons in a row. Torres would probably be happy to score over 10 goals in the League in a season at this point.
-
I don't think Jose has ever cared about "protecting" Lukaku - obviously he didn't rate him very highly when he arrived, if he thought Torres should be ahead of Lukaku in the pecking order at the start of the season. Since than they have had several jabs at each other in the media. I think Lukaku needs to do exceptionally well against the top clubs like United; City; Arsenal; Liverpool; Tottenham etc in order for Jose to even consider him for the number #1 striker position at CFC. In any case it appears that there is simply not a striker of Jose caliber available in the winter. Torres has started brightly in 2014 but he is known for his purple patches and fading into oblivion. I think he has as many red cards against United as goals against them - hence he should not start. Danny Welbeck has as many goals in the League as the combined total of Eto'o/Torres/Ba - our strikers are simply a joke and might be the thing which costs us the League Title. Mind you if we had an incompetent coach like the FSW this season I think we would have been scraping for 4th place instead of even being in a position to challenge.
-
I just realized Welbeck has as many goals as our striker force's combined total - Torres; Ba and Eto'o are the joke of the Premier League
-
It's a clause in their contracts - they need to remind their fans of their history every 2nd interview in order for their fans not to get depressed about how long they've gone without a League Title. Anyhow this loan isn't working out wonder how much we can get for Moses if we try to sell him in the summer; with so little play time and ineffectual performances off the bench I doubt we can get more than 10 million pounds.
-
26 million euro is a great price in today's market for a player of Matic's quality. Now we would only need to sort out our striker position, by clearing out the deadwood Eto'o/Ba/Torres and signing a World Class striker in the summer while bringing back Lukaku. Can't wait to see Matic in a blue shirt again.

He was a forward. The only reason I've not written our chances this season is because we have Jose. Fergie had amounted an average group of players and got a lot out of them but he always had multiple players capable of scoring loads of goals through out his 20 year career. Unlike our board he seems to realize it's important you have at least a few players scoring double digits. Its one of the reasons he has been so successful he build sides around getting the most goals out of particular players. An average central midfield can survive as long as they have confidence in what's in front of them. Case and point United last season; Liverpool this season; Do I even have to mention that Everton are performing better currently than at any time during Moyes because they finally have a consistent goal scorer as opposed to a Torres like player in the form of Jelavic. Goals win matches and as long as your whole squad is confident in a striker/forward/goal scoring midfielder it makes a World of difference . Like I've said you put a player of the highest caliber in our side 3 years ago; we would have challenged for the EPL titles and would have probably won at least one. You're downplaying what a goalscoring striker can do for the confidence of the rest of the team
-
Sorry to break it to you but Gudjohnson counts as a striker. I'm blaming anything Torres - it's not his fault, it's the boards fault for indulging a footballer like Torres. If you think we wouldn't have challenged for a title if we had a World Class striker instead of Torres these past 3 years that's your problem. Sure our problems wouldn't have been resolved but you just have to look at United last season and ask yourself would they have been in place to challenge for the title if RvP was not signed ? The same team this season is having problems to even get into the European spots because RvP's form declined.
-
Yeah we surely would not have won a title if we had signed Kun; RvP; Falcao; Zlatan etc instead of Torres. Your jokes are funny Have a word with yourself and please name me the last team that won a Title in the EPL with a main striker who has less than 10 goals to his name in a season If you are able to find a title winning team in the last 20 years in the EPL who's won a title while their main striker scores a maximum of 8 goals in the League I will never post in the thread again. Each season Torres has started ahead of superior footballers he has been like a noose tied around the club's neck - especially in the League. Anyone who denies that if we had a striker who knocked in 15-20 goals in the EPL in a season would have propelled us to challenge for the League should have a word with themselves. The sad thing is we've sold one such player and loaned the other one.
-
I've seen people support players at Chelsea who have stated they don't care about the club and don't care if we win or loose - maybe you should have a word with them? That's far worse in my book I don't care if we invested 100 million in Torres; because he is clearly not worth 1/10 of that. Our board are a bunch of muppets caving into a past it footballer and relying him in the last 3 years. He is a mental midget who can't reach double digits in the League 3 years in a row and is the main reason we haven't been challenging for EPL titles since he arrived. I don't blame Lukaku or Sturridge being frustrated being on the bench and watching Torres start ahead of them if I was in their place I'd say far worse things.
-
Maybe if Carlton Cole scores 20-30 goals in a season I might consider been bumping his thread - but neither do I rate him as a striker capable of scoring 20-30 goals; neither do I find his game enjoyable.
-
If you don't like the guy why do you spend so much time in his thread. If I dislike an ex-player's thread I would not be spending time in their thread, I doubt you go into J.Cole's one to call him a cunt every time he plays. Blaming him for going to Liverpool after he was on the bench for Torres since RdM took over is a lot of sour grapes.
-
Chelsea has never overpayed for a player or made a bad transfer - dats a facht Transfer funds are being taken directly out of BlueMourinhoKing's pockets - dats a facht Sign some one like Meireles or Sidwell for 5-7million dats the Chelsea way
-
What are people expecting a cheap transfer in January? I hope you're happier when realizing we are paying 35 million euro for Matic rather than 15-20 million for Guarin
-
If he had played up top, instead of out of position - his selfishness wouldn't have been a problem. The problem was always managers preferring a 50 million flop to play ahead of him
-
Torres fanboys - he didn't pass to him remember; he doesn't have problems passing to a World Class striker like Suarez
-
Very selfish player - only 8 assists in 32 matches
-
Torres got the important goal today - that's his job, hope he keeps it up I've been critical of him but this type of performances is what I expect from our strikers. Hazard MOTM and I'd also say Cesar and Cahill's did really well tonight
-
That's probably the reason they don't pass to Torres Just wrote that and he scored!
