The problem is not with the sacking, as much as the time Robbie was sacked and who he was replaced with. If Roman had gotten his man(Pep) and he sacked Robbie knowing Pep is coming than I'd understand that decision but sacking Robbie after not backing him in the first place and sticking in Rafa for 6 months is a joke.

I would think you would not buy into such crap, there is no quote of Sturridge ever saying he expects to be first choice striker. There is plenty of quotes about him wanting to have a chance playing in this position - but unlike Torres he doesn't expect that position to be given to him without actually earning it.

I meant that up until this point our Flair player bailed us out but now that they have been played so much they are starting to get tired and loose their effectiveness when we most need them.

After recent results I can't blame RdM for trying something new - I personally feel we would have lost this game whatever lineup he tried because we cannot address the problems with defenders being exposed and attackers not finishing off their chances. I think a lot of it stems from over use of Hazard and Mata which is degenerating their effectiveness. A lot of people have been spoiled by Lampards longevity and consistency they expect flair players to also be able to play 90 minutes every game with the same effect. Just recall Robben and how often he was out of the side due to injuries - the way especially Hazard plays takes a great toll on his body. Especially today as the match went on Mata and Hazard were not able to keep up the press and trickery. Marin; Moses need to be rotated with those two with greater effect if we want to use them in their most devastating form in matches like the ones against Juve.

Now that Sturridge has been injured we are back to the same loop. Loaned Lukaku, didn't sign a 3rd striker, didn't play Sturridge. Bamford on the bench against City I guess.

The thing is - we all know that Di Matteo was only kept due to our CL and FA Cup win, I don't think he had any say in transfers and who was loaned out. I think we should give him support and backing till the end of the season provided we keep up with the League Leaders - the next few matches are key for RDM.

Donetsk need a win or draw for first place I doubt they will play reserves but if the result is a draw by the 60th minute I expect both teams to not be too fussed about scoring.

I'm pretty sure it was Drogba. It was the lost points against Donetsk away and Juve at home that cost us qualification - and those were dropped because inept defending. I've no clue for the reason we've been defending like giddy school girls for the last few years but we have started shipping increasingly more goals the more veterans we loose. In any case, I doubt any formation would have gotten a result at with this type of defending we were practically leaving acres of spaces between the lines.
