First of all all young players make ridiculous decisions especially if they are played out of position as was the case last season with Sturridge. Despite that he doesn't loose the ball as often as Torres; has more touches when he plays because he is more mobile and easier to find and doesn't walk into 4 defenders loosing the ball constantly the way Torres does. He also doesn't hesitate the way Torres does, when he has a chance alone against the keeper. The only reason he was not played is obviously the instructions RdM had about playing Torres at all costs. The first time Torres was dropped RdM promptly got the sack and the only coach to ever get Torres into the World Class bracket was brought in by our Board with pretty obvious motives. I love the fact you talk about Sturridge leaves our full backs exposed but when Hazard or Mata do the same no one is making the same criticism and during the same time frame last season in my opinion Sturridge was better than Hazard has been thus far this year. Drogba is an anomaly, comparing other striker's defensive work to Drogba when he was fussed is virtually a contest that no player can possibly win. HE STARTED TWO GAMES FOR FUCK SAKE Sturridge in his two full games is 89% passing completion against United in the Capital One Cup(20 more passes than Welbeck* or Hernandez) and 85% against WBA(a game in which he made more passes than Moses and Torres), the average passing completion for Torres this season is 70%. This shows that despite the tag of a greedy player who never passes - statistically you are off the mark. Just a very bad decision maker sometimes. He had 3 key passes against United(third highest behind Mata and Hazard naturally); two key passes against WBA(as many as Moses & Mata had). Anyone who thinks that Torres has started all our games apart from two due to how hard he trains and footballing reasons is out of their freaking mind What about Man Shitty game where he provided the assist and won us the penalty or this pretty chart below: *Game Changing Goals - GCG

Spot on He was available for 14 matches this season which is a total of 1260 minutes this season and played 320 minutes. The one game he started instead of Torres he only started because Torres was suspended. Despite everything over the last 3 years he has a better goal per minute ratio than the blond bugger. Outscored Torres; Anelka and Drogba's combined tally while on loan at Bolton for half a year leading their line. Had as many Goals(9) that won us points as our top contributor and penalty taker Lampard last season despite not playing much in the second part of the season. Those were goals which either opened the scoring; equalized or put us in front - of which Torres only had one against Swansea in the game he got send off. Was asked to play in a new position in his first season as a first team player at Chelsea and performed as well as anyone in the first part of our season. Borini being better than Sturridge at this point, is a fucking joke simple as that.

Borini might develop to be better than Sturridge down the line, but overall your statement is laugh worthy

Another bit of awful business by the club, we need two strikers lined-up in the winter.
-
I just don't see Falcao being sold in the winter while Atletico is trying to finish in the top 4. Madrid have failed to qualify for the CL in the last few years, qualifing for the CL is a major cash crop and Falcao would still be worth just as much in the summer as he is right now(perhaps more if they qualify for the CL). I think Ba is the best option to displace Torres for half a season, and we need to unload Torres even for free as long as someone else is paying his contract.

When you are looking at a striker of course you are going to look at the amount of time on the field it takes him to score a goal. Virtually all the top strikers when on form score a goal every 120 minutes or less they are on the field. Virtually all other top teams cannot afford to have a first choice forward who takes two and a half games to get a goal. Statistics for a guy like Torres are comparable to lower level teams who don't have many options up top and are forced into playing the same players every game like Wigan(Franco Di Santo); Everton(Jelavic); Sunderland(Fletcher); etc not something you would expect from a Club challenging for titles. Brining out statistics like Torres has more goals than Rooney; Aguerro; Balotelli etc when he has played twice the amount of time compared to the rest of these players is frankly pathetic. It's no wonder the last time Torres was in form at Liverpool he had a goal every 88 minutes which was 4 years ago. When you are virtually the only choice here(Sturridge started one game up top when Torres was banned and Hazard was played ahead of him against Juve), compared to a guy like RvP who gets rested for some of United's easier games to keep him fresh is funny. What would have happened if Sturridge/Lukaku had played up top against some of the struggling teams which Torres bloated his goal tally against like the Nords; QPR; Genk; Leichester; Monterrey; Wolves; etc he would be on 10 goals right now. Last season the only goal which was either an equalizer; winning goal; or opening goal Torres scored was against Swansea all the rest of his goals were absolutely pointless in terms of our team winning games or securing points.

Don't rate Gomis at ALL, irregular scorer we should be aiming higher because he won't improve us at all. His scoring record is similar to Torres's record while at Chelsea I'd rate him about as high as Chamakh

Three of his 5 goal tally in recent games have been down to lucky rebounds, the Thin Spanish Waiter can't complain about luck - he was getting the rub of the green against some abject opposition.
-
He was bought in to get the best out of Torres it's obvious he won't say a bad word about him after Torres being the main reason he is even here.
-
It was pathetic, and before someone blames Rafa the first to the chopping board are Buck & Gourlay. After we won the CL a certain Spanish twat, questioned our management, questioned his role, questioned the happiest night for millions of fans around the World. Instead of telling this Spanish twat to pack his bags after a season during which he went 24 hours without a trophy. Buck & Gourlay decided it is a good idea to sell Drogba and Kalou; let Lukaku go on loan; fail to sign another striker and obviously not give a chance to Sturridge cause Torres needs to play 90 minutes every game. Inept board who later fired our CL and FA Cup winning manager after the first game he had balls to drop the passenger from the side. They hired a fucking FSW to manage us who polarized our fans and made them question the club. Buck & Gourlay OUT, even for a second those two should not think they can wash their hands with FSW.
-
Moses was so poor yet the FSW kept him on until we actually went behind what an absolute joke of a tactician
-
Poor Robbie, he should have been leading us in the CWC instead of this Fat Spanish Wanker
-
FSW is to blame
-
Poor second half, Corinthians starting to have more chances and more control. FSW needs to start making substitutions - Moses the first one who should come off.
-
Nice curler by Moses, goalkeeper with his fingers keeps it out. That was the first good move by Moses in the match
-
Jesus, Corinthians miss the best chance of the game
-
Actually Luiz is our best player during these first 30 minutes, Cole is also doing alright.
-
Cahill has been pretty poor at the back.
-
This had the feeling of a friendly game, no intensity required from our lot. Hopefully this easy game doesn't make the players over confident for the Final because Corinthians are a tough nut to crack.
-
Good three games from Torres, but lets see how he does in the Final against some real opposition and than if he can maintain this after we return from Japan.
-
Torres with an epic first touch and control
-
What an absolutely classy goal by Mata! Oscar and Cole just ripped them apart.

The problem is exactly the context, he was played on the right wing when he is a left footed forward. He had never played on the right wing before and he had never trained his right foot for crossing in particular. First of all Sturridge is not overly selfish - he makes a wrong decision on a regular basis which is normal for a player who only recently started playing regular football in the EPL. But it's also the manager's decision to play a player out of position in a place where a one footed player might find it difficult to cross from. AVB decided not to sign a right winger and play Sturridge there as a left footed player who is not used to playing as a winger(just spend 6 months leading the line for Bolton), it's natural he would cut in and sometimes take the wrong decision. But at the same time he had twice as many goals as Moses from a wide position - despite having about 10 shots less than Moses last season. He had the most through balls out of Nani/Sinclair/Moses with a pass every 3 minutes. He is a young player who on-loan at Bolton had a total of 50 shots, 20 of which were on target and 8 were converted into goals. We have not given him the time on the field to really prove himself here he has been at Chelsea for 3 years - before going on loan to Bolton he had 3 starts the entire first half of our season against Ipswich; Zhilina(2). He had 4 goals in these 3 games, next year when he returned from his loan he played one match up top together with Lukaku I believe against Blackburn. He doesn't moan any more than Theo moans about starting centrally for Arsenal; or Dzeko at City for not starting. He has played 1/4 of their time this season despite being available for 14 matches this half a season out of those 14 matches he started two and played as a striker for a total of 200 minutes(120 United; 30 W'Brom; 10 QPR; 10 United(when we were down to 9 men); 21 Donestk; 9 Liverpool). Liverpool will no doubt employ a tactic where players drift out of position with Suarez; Sturridge and Sterling interchanging. I'd wager you an avatar change that he gets into double figures in Liverpool in half a season provided he doesn't get a long term injury if you are so certain he will flop. He had the most through balls out of Nani/Sinclair/Moses with a pass every 3 minutes. First of all the whole tracking back; defending and being able to tackle and winning the ball back is a lot of tripe - Mata and Hazard aren't any better at doing any of those thing either. Because it's not their job, if you want someone to get stuck in as our forward maybe you should you check out Torres's red card against Swansea last season - meaningless, that's why players trained to defend need to get "stuck in" all we can ask from creative players is to pressure defenders and try to intercept balls or wait for defenders to screw up(like against United) Here are some stats for you to maul over from last year, him and Lampard won us the most points via their goals last season. People only want to notice the "bad" parts of Sturridge game - I have not heard a single person mention the three chances he setup for Moses against United, two of which came before he had scored in that game. One was a clear scoring chance from a few yards away with no defender in front of Moses who fired it straight at the keeper after Sturridge laid it off to him from the right flank. The other chance was similar to the chance Sturridge setup for Hazard against Donetsk a clever one touch allowing Moses to be one on one against a United defender and the third was the one on one chance Moses missed at the end of the game. The other positive was he continued to make runs for 120 minutes and his head never went down, he continued to try and although he made 3 awful decisions that match, that was understandable after playing for the first time as a striker at the club since Blackburn last season and first start this season after about 60 minutes on the field as a sub in the rest of our games.
