Like all of us I'm delighted with the financial lifeline CFC earned by taking part in the CWC. Going into it I had no expectation that we might become world champions. My ambition was that we would maximise our income by reaching the quarter final before being eliminated there by PSG. At no point however did I feel towards the competition what you are now trying to tell me that I did. It is far, far, more valid than its predecessor and, unless damaged in the way I describe below, will only grow in prestige. 
The biggest threat to the future of the CWC might come from the top players because it would make no sense without them. While the financial incentives for clubs are overwhelming, the players bonuses won't mean as much to already super wealthy footballers. They would, I'm confident, love to continue participating in the CWC but may well request that the overall number of games they play be reduced by shortening or eliminating other competitions. Only if these conflicting interests cannot be resolved do I see a threat to the CWC and its status.
I believe that people belittling the CWC are in the same boat as those who poo-pooed the nations World Cup when it was first introduced. That's to say one which is destined to sink without trace.

Some fans and ex players of unqualified teams cried and coped by pretending not to care but two of the world's truly great clubs, Barcelona and Liverpool, gave the game away by begging for invitations despite failing to qualify.

These bozos have somehow managed to finished the window with us being heavily reliant on J.Pedro not getting injured for the next 2-3 months. Look at the fixtures for the next two months… we are in need of a miracle considering Pedro will have to play 99% of those games.

Estevao and Santos were already on the cards and Essugo was a late winter purchase. They have done well in bringing these players on but all of the names mentioned are below the age of 25. Ok, that might not matter to most but we all know from experience that experience is vital if we want to win the proper titles, not the tinpot Conference League. If we hadn’t won that, it would have been incredibly embarrassing.

Haven’t addressed the Colwill inury.. and now if Chalobah goes down we are truly fucked as Fofana is permanently in A&E.
Brought in two back up/developing wingers in Kittens and Cheesy Nachos of the combined price of over £80m’s.
Left Maresca to die in public crying for CB reinforcements with no answer.
Fucked around lying about us being interested in Xavi and Lopez. 
 
Used the Delap injury to being Jackson back with no intention of reintegrating him back into the squad but simply to apply more pressure on Byern to get the deal they wanted.

I’m going to back every player in Blue and the gaffer as he deserves it but i’m for one not holding my breath of us doing much this season. I hope they prove me wrong and it doesn’t end in a disaster. I want to be proven wrong.
I just feel idiotic for starting to believe all the media outlets, content creators and others saying we will show serious intent in the market now we have CL football and after winning the CWC ect to only finish the window feeling utterly underwhelmed. 
 
 

You and some others were already ranting just in the middle of last season and proved wrong already. Instead of giving a club support you were calling for protests against owners. Thankfully it didn't destabilize the club and we finished the season successfully with accomplishing all our goals. CL qualification and one title. Out of nowhere we even become World Champions which no one saw coming. So we overachieved actually. 
We have very strong core of players that every team would wish for. Cucurella, Colwill, James, Caicedo, Enzo, Palmer, Pedro... I'm sure even you don't think they need upgrading?
Very happy with Neto so far. Estevao is most exciting player coming from South America since Neymar more than a decade ago. Thrilled we got him! Even Roman never pulled those deals. Excited with what is coming from Hato, Acheampong and Santos. We are talking world class potential here. All agreed Chalobah, Tosin and are great squad options and that Delap is great pickup for a backup. 
Lavia has injury problems unfortunately otherwise looks amazing when available. 
Even Gusto looks solid recently. 
Garnacho gets a lot of hate but clearly wants to be here so let's give him a chance could surprise many. Have a positive feeling about him. Calling him names without him kicking the ball...
Regarding your complaints, you really want Jackson back? I'm happy he is gone, you don't want toxic player who also didn't want to be here. 
Let's see how long is Delap out shouldn't be that long with hamstring injury unless it's grade 3. Plus international breaks coming. Saying Pedro injury away from disaster well ofc, every team on the planet playing with one striker and losing first two options would feel devastated. 
Do we really need Simons or Fermin who don't look like bench players to me when we already have Palmer, Estevao and Enzo occupying the same area? 
Again, think Garnacho is great pickup for that price. You probably wanted Rodrygo for twice as much who scored same number of goals last season in the much weaker league with much better teammates. 
In the end it's all down to GK and new CB which majority wanted but club opted against it and stats back their thinking. Third best defense last season and only one goal conceded in three games so far. You know Hato or Acheampong in a year can be what is Colwill now? He was there just recently but we gave him a chance. Fofana will be given another chance. 
Selling non important players for almost 300m is amazing work because it gave us the chance to reinforce our attack which was biggest problem last season and we addressed it with 4 new players there Delap, Pedro, Garnacho and Gittens plus Estevao. 
In the end of the day every team has weaknesses. City won 100 points with Zinchenko/Delph as LB. Real won CL and the league without a striker except backup Joselu.

People are actually upset about Simons not going through when we have Cole/Pedro/Estevao for the middle, Estevao/Neto/Cole/George for the right, Garnacho/Gittens/Neto/George for the left.
You don't go out and buy a 60 mil striker if one of your guys goes down for 6-8 weeks. We had two strikers. You recall one in Guiu, who is exactly the type of cover you need for this kind of situation, and you have the likes of Neto, George, etc if things get super bad.

I understand why people always compare to Roman era, and Roman signed so fucking class talent let’s get it right, but he also signed some fucking absolute dross as well, so far this seems to be the same as of now, the only difference is we are also selling most of the shit we buy for decent money as well, and we have one of the most exciting young sides in the league that will only improve, different ways of doing things and the last 3 years hasn’t helped as far as league position goes, but we are getting there.

I really don’t think it’s that bad. 
 
If you’re okay with going to Spurs it tells you where your ambition lies. Not high enough. 
 
This isn’t anywhere near as catastrophic as people make it out to be. We are fairly set in attack anyway.
