Just saw the first goal... Nah. You can't blame the keeper for that. Obviously that Leeds one was shocking and the Leicester one should have been saved, but nah, today was a strike that just went in. Cech had far worse showings than today and no one batted an eyelid. Mendy is in a bit of a slump, but not concerned. He has small patches occasionally like this. It is just made worse by the fact the team has been shocking. To Mendy's credit, he made some huge saves in the Leicester game to keep us in it. We can't just highlight the one bad thing he did.

Didn't get a chance to watch today due to the bad time for Australia, but is it our midfield again? Given our defence, I don't think that is the problem. Even with a great defence, you need your midfield being that first line of help, and it seems that is where all of our problems are... There is no connecting piece to link from defence to attack. I'll go out on a limb and say that I think we would be fine in attack, not great, but fine, if we just had better midfield creation. Jorgi is the biggest thing holding us back IMO, but we don't have anyone who can carry the ball. Hazard used to do that for us. Kante believe it or not, did that for us a fair bit. Kovacic does, but he is injured a lot too. We are small, fairly slow and no one can carry the ball in midfield. We therefore rarely catch teams in bad positions and capitalise, but set up against more set defences and walls. Given that we are fairly slow, we are also getting outworked when we have to defend. Get a DM and someone who can carry the ball forward, because that is the biggest thing we are missing.

I've never said he hasn't been trash the entire season. But he isn't exactly in a great spot atm, and he has played the right way given the game IMO.

Kai has been working upfront on his own holding the ball up all game. Some of you are being awful harsh. He has put a shift in up front. Think he has been vital for us today given how the game has unfolded. Sure that was a shite touch earlier, but dude is probably spent.

Can someone actually explain what Jorgi does for this team? Honestly want to know. I'm trying to work it out. Because if they need someone to just pass it backwards and "recycle" possession, I'm happy to take his salary and do it.

Agree. I'd never want him at wingback. James is an animal. So, so good. I wouldn't be against another RWB so he can rotate between RWB and even midfield. We'd be extremely physical and skilled with both RLC and James driving the ball forward.

From all reports, it seems as if TT was not onboard with the Lukaku signing... Raphina, Sterling, Gordon, Auba, Leao, etc... All the forward players we seem to want or got are great at pressing and putting some pressure on. KK, Fofana, Kounde, De Ligt, etc... All defenders who are great at playing the ball out and distributing the ball. Let him build the damn team. He came in and won a CL after half a season of making players fit. He then had a season where we were banned from transfers or contact to other teams to even spend money due to sanctions. You guys are munted if you think anyone could do a better job given the circumstances. He has a pretty clear vision if you look at the players he is trying to get. We clearly need a goalscorer and a DM. We can't get it all sorted in one transfer window unfortunately. I'm guessing the plan is Rice next year. Get a stop gap forward like Auba for this coming season to at least compete, etc. Next year will be the one where we are fully locked and loaded. Only fair to give the man some time to build his team. Try and be a team that wins the cups. We aren't loaded enough atm to be consistent over the course of a season, but we can compete in cups.

He was the worst player on the pitch... But I don't know what to think of it considering he was playing next to the worst player in Jorgi who shouldn't get game time at all. Our midfield gets run over if Kova or Kante aren't playing. We need Rice more than anything. A DM would solve so many of our problems.

He is the only one that has impressed for me. Plays direct and drives the ball. Seems our mob is a bit confused by this as they would much rather pass sideways and lose possession. Hopefully he doesn't fall into the easy habits of the rest of the team, and they catch up with him as opposed to him settling into the easy way of things.
