TBF we had been doing well from set-pieces even before JM arrived, and as the season progressed it just kept getting worse and worse. One reason i was upset at KDB leaving was because he offered us a lot of creativity on set-pieces as well. We had some beautiful set-plays in the pre-season but that went missing. Him along with mata leaving and we were left we no true dead-ball specialist, Hazard barely takes them, and between Luiz/Oscar none are as lethal as say KDB/Mata .

Agreed, technical strikers are hard to come by these days. Unlike most i'm still holding the faith that Cavani could be on his way, (naive probably to think so, but hey crazy things have happened). The only striker 'semi-available' that fits the bill is Cavani,, God knows he wasnt talking about Costa with that description. Cavani-Lukaku-Eto'o (if he stays) and Schurrle is a fine combination IMO. One thing i'd like to see form JM next year is Schurrle as a second striker. Never saw that this season, only a false nine. Pulling a 442 against the lower teams can help throw a different look and keep the oppositions CBs occupied instead of the lone-wolf when we defend.

This could be one of our most important summer transfer windows next to 2012. I hope we do our business as early as possible and get everybody settled down. One thing this past season has shown is that leaving things till January can really hurt one's season. No matic, No salah. It creates complacency as players know they will start/miss certain games for rest/rotation purposes. I just hope we get Shaw, first things first. And then top class signings in CM and ST. Honestly kind of nervous to see if the club see the same things we do in our team's weaknesses.

This season will be looked at as a failure, no two ways about it, and there's no way you can convince me otherwise. The way we lost this title race almost makes me cry, and what a pathetic way to end the season. At this rate you almost hope we make 3-4 big signings because we lack real options and competiton. The likes of Oscar, Hazard and Willian are too comfortable i feel.

The only thing worse than English and Arabic and Brazilian Liverpool fans, are all Liverpool fans. Boom.

Let's try and end on a solid note. I know we'll all be hoping Liverpool and City lose this weekend, but i don't think that will happen (even with City's poor record at Goodison Park, watch them win it.) Hurts deep down to know that we had our PL fate in our hands, tough one to swallow this season will be no matter how much of a 'miracle' it is that we stayed in the race till this long. Kind of weird seeing us end the season with almost no silverware, No SuperCup, No Carling Cup, No FA Cup (how'd that happen!), NO UCL, No EPL (seems like it). Honestly just want to fastforward to September and get the new season started (with our new signings/recalls.) Things can only get better and want to see JM with 'his' squad.

Outplayed. Could see that AM were always the better side after halftime and to conceede the way we did before half-time was heart-breaking. I will say, im surprised JM opened the gates in the second half,, thought we were gonna sit back and then go for the goal in the last 10-15mins, by opening up the game early we played in AM's hands. Im dissapointed, crushed and at the same time proud. We really were about to so something special but when you saw AM's passing and general play they completely outplayed us in that second 45. What i hope we do is become more complete. Playing ramires and 5/6 defenders is almost reminiscent of the days of RDM. We have the summer and i expect JM and Co. to make this team more solid.

100%. Even though he wasn't feeling good, on days where he's not ill i wonder how much stress he puts himself under. Because clearly he's not going anywhere anytime soon, but he honestly looks like a work-a-holic. Just goes to show his love for us.

Think he needs to bulk up, but other than that,, great performace and looks Chelsea material. Could have scored too! Feels weird giving our youngies a chance, we should do this more often.

Steve's backpass in 2009 helped us win the PL. Could Steve's slip-up in 2013 help us win the PL this year? Stranger things have happened. Hahaha

Word, even i was suprised to us resort to THAT infamous tactic again. But i dont think we will see that type of football untill we have a solid striking core, and another CM to complement Matic. But i agree, would really like to see us take that next step and really have confidence that we can pass our way to victory at times and not always resort to Countering and/or the Bus. Been a while since we seen a Chelsea side really boss a top team, (in terms of possesion) i mean besides PSG i can't really think of one. But i'll give it till after the summer to see who we sign. We have a lot of stop-gap players, time to take that final step and build a new core. A more technical core at that also.

Is it too late for the FA to change this match? Like push it back and make it a mid-week game after the CL semi final-2nd leg?

Recall Curtois! But nah Cech is a true Legend, wish him the best. Cant believe we're getting these injuries NOW. I trust our medical team, definately the best in the league, maybe even all of Europe. Dont't even want to think that he could have played his last game for us, not now.
