  1. @Tomo,@Reddish-Blue, Carlo gets away with it i feel, because he's this glorious gentleman. I may have missed some of his miraculous healing acts or his cure for cancer but that shouldn't cloud or even be brought into the equation when evaluating his talent as a manager. The Rafa=Carlo comparisons are good, because each team they manage seems to focus mightily on that competition, and are perennial favorites to possibly win it every year. If Pep could do it in England that would be impressive, because frankly his spell at Bayern Munich has been unimpressive to say the least. It'd be interesting to see him try and turn City (if the rumors are true) into a dominant possession based side, in the English scene. If he pulls that off, then he can really solidify his position as one of the best. We'll never get that rags-to-riches story from Pep, but that's ok, he can't really control that because his first managerial position was at one of the giants in the football world. JM was trying to break through, and his treble at Porto helped do that for him. I take nothing away from his accomplishments at Barca. As we've seen with Carlo Ancelotti, managers can royally underachieve with tremendous talent. And the way he oversaw the passing of the torch from Ronaldhino to Messi which was done successfully is nothing to sneeze at. They were still a major force in Europe and winning La Ligas all while Messi became the vocal point of the team at age 20! He definitely earned his stripes during his tenure as Barca manager, and all managers have dips in their career and Bayern (to me) appears to be that. Just like Real madrid in totality was for JM.
  2. Reus and this fella, and we'll be golden.
  3. Wow what a major move it would be to see Pep in England. You almost got to wonder if JM knew about this happening given what he was saying about Messi and throwing shade on Pep's achievements with that side and what not. Will be interesting to see if Pep has what it takes to be successful in England. His time at Bayern Munich has been a black mark on his career and I still can't get over the fact he chose Bayern in that poor league. And I have no sympathy for him being judged solely on his CL endeavors while at Bayern because he knew what he was getting himself into.
  4. What a match that was.. can't believe Ronaldo missed that pen and RM hit the woodwork 3 times. La liga is all but gone now,, only Carlo Ancelotti can go on a 22 matching winning streak and let a 7pt lead slip. Only Carlo! Such an average manager, and how he gets away with it is beyond me. But that Isco goal was something special!
  5. And to top it all off, Forbes ranked us as the 3rd richest club according to these Super Six factors. Our overall Worth, is obviously behind the Spanish Giants and MU, but still, full praises to the Board and JM, as we continue build our financial muscle. http://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2015/05/06/real-madrid-tops-ranking-of-the-worlds-most-valuable-soccer-teams/ And if you check this link out: http://www.forbes.com/soccer-valuations/list/#page:1_sort:4_direction:desc_search: You can also see the club has no Debt aswell.
  6. Yeah a lot of people really are getting too scared of FFP, if we wanted to, we could easily blow the bank, easy. However, the club have been working very hard, especially since the Torres transfer to rid themselves of a free-spending side. The mood has changed where clubs no longer demand us to pay the transfer fee in cash all upfront and we've finally shed 'The Chelsea Price' which saw us spend 5-10M more on every transfer because clubs knew we could afford it. Our wage structureis top notch, and 100k/pw is no longer the norm for every player. And we no longer dole out heft bonuses for every little win in Europe/domestically.
  7. I find it amazing how out of the MAZACAR *cringes* trio, after so much debate throughout the years and projections on which player had the most talent, which player would go on to be a Chelsea legend, which player had the most upside and in 2/3 years would take the EPL by storm, it is Hazard who is left standing. Obviously Oscar hasn't left yet, but the writing has been on the wall for months now. We need an upgrade on him because frankly he's holding us back in the big games, ins't technically solid, and has gone MIA for the 2nd half of the season for now 3 years running. From being ok, in his first season. To being the 'chosen one' upon JM's arrival, to being a weaker link in the team (not saying he's trash) but yall know what i mean. How things change man.
  8. But wait, like @Lionsden said, at least Bayern stuck to their true philosophy! Yeah, its not like they were missing Robben/Ribery and Alaba... I wonder if Bayern Munich won a moral victory yesterday? Because that match easily could've ended 5-0. Lets flashback to last year Semi-final First leg: Real Madrid v Bayern Munich. Where the future champs had 28% possession AT HOME. I wonder if the Real Madrid fans enjoyed that victory?
  9. Reus played RW for borussia mönchengladbach and got into the team of the year in 2012 as a RW. Since his move to Dortmund he's played numerous positions all across the front line. As a ST, LW, RW, CAM. He's the man i feel we need to complement Hazard imo.
  10. This was me texting my boy back during the Round 16, you can even peep the date. Might as well gloat incase Juve let me down...
  11. It'll be very interesting to see what we do with him this summer.
  12. I don't know how Matic is not in people's top 3. When all 3 of our losses came when he didn't start. We were all worried for both Newcastle and Tottenham away, because we knew No Matic=No Party. I think a lot of people are overlooking the effect Matic has on JT and the entire defense. Edit; Wow, don't know how i messed that up, he did indeed play against Spurs. I was sure he didn't. :tophat:
  13. Haha your right @The Chels,. It isn't like last year where our needs were glaring Now that we've won the PL, all that these journos know is that JM has said we'd make 2/3 signings, all they can do now is link #CFC with every prospect under the moon. I just hope we don't have a long drawn out transfer saga. Don't think i can survive another Cavani and Hulk saga. That shit was so annoying lmaoo
  14. Hazard gets 200k, after his new deal. Here's all the player wages: http://www.totalsportek.com/football/chelsea-player-salaries/ As you can see, we really have a stable wage structure...
  15. What if i told you the same can be said about Marco Reus :eyebrows:
  16. Pogba would only come to Chelsea because he wants to try and be a legend in the EPL scene, he views England as the toughest league and wants to challenge himself,, he falls for Jose Mourinho and wants to work under him along with the prospect of playing with Hazard/Cesc/Matic/Costa. We may offer Juve a bid just as high as the other clubs, but i don't see the Board and JM offering Pogba the farm, which would be the transfer fee AND top wages. The wages PSG/Barca/Real offer will all be higher imho, and with PSG offering already around 215,000 Pounds/pw, (converting the above mentioned 15M Euros after taxes that @Nadav TKL posted) and while JM mentioned how wages made us avoid Di Maria all together, in this high-profile transfer saga and with his obnoxious loud mouth agent there's no way we could even give him high wages without the world knowing. For me, i'd make an exception for such a great young talent in Pogba and offer him wages equal to Cesc/Costa already. But the Board & JM will do what they deem fit. My hopes are slowly fading because saying no to Barca & Real is a hard thing for any footballer to do. He'd need to have the mindset of Hazard who from day one said England was where he wanted to be. Nothing has leaked as far as his motivations behind his next move, and thats good on him for focusing solely on his job at Juve.
  17. Not really. It's just because Gary Neville mentioned it yesterday on MNF. Yes Bale has been treated so poorly from the fans and media. This season alone, CR has cursed him out on 1-2 occasions for not passing to him. Fans have whistled whenever he tries to shoot, and on 2 accounts have hit his car ( one was early in the season around Aug. and recently after the El classico defeat.) To put it bluntly, he's been treated like crap, and is the new scapegoat for the madridstas. And although he has been poor this season, none of these actions should be condoned. However Florentino Perez has vowed that Bale is going nowhere, because this was 'his' buy, and he's anxious for him to be universally accepted by the fans, but that hasn't been the case so far. Bale even recently said he's going nowhere. And if they sold Bale, many teams will look to rip them off (as they should) because they know he's not wanted there, so all in all i think Bale will stay.
  18. We should be going all out for Marco Reus. With Klopp leaving, reports of Hummels/Gundogan on the way out, they will most likely look to cash in on their stars and rebuild the squad. I highly doubt Reus wants to spend his prime years playing for a team going through a major overhaul. Things have changed greatly since his contract extension in Jan. so I'm sure he'll be available. He can play anywhere across the 3, and as a ST. He has a high work-rate and tracks back, sound technically, good at set pieces, and can be another major goal threat. Marco Reus,, Koke/or some other CM who can be trusted in the major matches. A backup GK, promote some youth players thaat will honestly play like RLC & Ake. And we should be set to defend to title. ------------Courtois(new 2nd GK) Ivan (Ake)--John Terry--Cahil (Zouma)--Azpi (Luis) ----Cesc (RLC & another CM)--Matic (Mikel) Reus(Cuadrado)--Willian(Oscar)--Hazard ----Diego Costa (Remy & Reus)---
  19. Goal: Moment: Maybe i'm prisoner of the moment here, but that game vs Leciester away. Everybody was having a go at Didier 'Tha King' Drogba, and while he was poor in that first half, some of the comments were soooo out of line. Yall were acting like it was his fault Costa & Remy weren't available, and he's simply trying his best. The team was sluggish/poor in the 1st half, everybody was having a go at the team and JM for our bad play the past couple of months and you could sense some people thought we may not even be that worthy of champions. And then the second half happened. We really looked like title winners, scoring 3 unanswered goals giving Leciester no sniff at all on goal. Drogba scored to answer his critics, 'Capitano' fantastic popped up with another crucial goal like he always does, and Rambo turned back the years with a strike from his 2011/12 season. Winner winner chicken dinner as we all breathed a sigh of relief that we were 3pts closer to the title. :blue scalf:
  20. There's been a bad omen with the Community Shield recently, where the past 4 winners haven't gone on to win the League.... Having said that, i dont think i'd mind losing to Villa
  21. Great article from Fabregas on the telegraph.. And happy Birthday Cesc! You'll slowly become a true blue i feel. Jose Mourinho best manager Ive Had
  22. As far as Icardi is concerned (and myself as an Inter fan), he really should stay at Inter to continue to develop. He doesn't have much versatility to his game like Remy who can play RW if need be. He plays almost exclusively on the shoulder of the defender looking to run/recieve passes into the channels. He's not a dribbler/link up maestro, so i can't see what he doesn't offer that Remy and Costa don't. He is lethal, but so are our 1st and 2nd choices STs already.
  23. He didn't just come to the dark side, he came to the winning side! It's amazing how many players view us as the side to join when they want to win trophies nd all. I had feared we were losing that bit as the Mancs kept exchanging league titles, but Cesc, Costa, Luis, Willian and Hazard (after the CL win), all had that feeling that at Chelsea they'd win important titles. That's a great trait to have, at the club. Long may it continue!
  24. We're currently on a 15 match unbeaten streak, really dont want to lost that as the season winds down tbh. Hope we dont completely turn off, but its whatever if we do. But I swear, if RLC and Ake aren't given significant minutes in these final 3 games...
