The price doesn't bother me, especially when you consider the fact he may service this club for 10+ years, i think it's worth it. Stones and Zouma is a mouth-watering proposition. Both are mobile, young and showing showing such great promise already. Throw in Baba and Azpi and suddenly we can play a high line, compress the field, and that makes Costa and Company's pressing job that much easier. Matic has less ground to cover too, and when we win the ball high up the field it makes for easier goal-scoring opprotunities. And if it costs 40M to do this, then so be it.

Typically we would have started the season on good form then have had a very dark/toxic cloud around Chelsea in October/November. I'll take some solace in the fact this is all happening in August, after matchday 2. We still have 2 weeks to splash the cash (God help me if we don't) and months upon months to recover to get our shit together, because Man City will go through a tough patch at some point. At least there's that.

I for one don't. He's the most overrated manager ever imho. At what point does his "Gentleman persona" make up for his horrible league performances year after year after year at the biggest clubs across Europe. Also don't forget the Ray Wilkins fallout happened under his watch. (not saying he was responsible for his dismissal, but he is responsible for the results that followed.) But I agree generally that it's getting annoying always having one major Negative PR story surround our club. Every manager has had one, but JM loves stirring the pot even when it doesn't need to be touched at all. I'm just surprised he always has the energy to create a conflict at any given moment, doesn't it get tiring?
