Rumours that we've signed the Dutch Bosingwa, Van der Wiel, are indeed false. Let's all hope he will never come. Hazard is 100% sure and Hulk is also very likely to happen. I am excited about Hazard but think Hulk is a bad deal. He is going to earn a lot and 48 million is a lot for somebody who is a bit overrated.

The most important thing is giving opportunities to the youth players. For example, Barcelona's acadamy isn't much better than Real's acadamy but Real doesn't give any opportunities to their youth players whilst Barca does. I believe youth players often are good enough but they aren't given any chances to shine. Everytime Bertrand was given an opportunity he was at least decent. I am from Holland and in Holland we give opportunities to youth players. Not only in this day and age but also when Dutch clubs were one of the best in the world. When players like Seedorf and Bergkamp made their debut, they were 16-18. Coaches like Van Gaal and Rijkaard gave players like Messi and Xavi their debut at a very young age. O fcourse these are all exceptionally talented players but they are just the first examples I can think of. "When a player is good enough, you shouldn't look at his age" - Johan Cruijff (or something like that)

Like they say in this article, http://www.weaintgotnohistory.com/2012/5/30/3050693/hulk-to-chelsea-fc-yes-or-no, we already have a lot of options up front and some talents who are ready to make some appearances. We already signed Hazard, Marin and De Bruyne and apparently Malouda's contract will be extended so I don't think Hulk is necessary. Especially not for that fee (40 million pounds)
-
I agree that we should strengthen. I just think that buying Hulk would be spending money just to spend money or to make a statement. If we spend money, we should spend it wisely and not to 'strike fear into the hearts of our opponents'. Buying Hulk would, in my opinion of course, seriously obstruct the development of younger and possibly more talented players. Not only the ones I named, but also talents in our acadamy. We shouldn't now spend lots of money like we did when Mourinho was our coach. We should spend smarter en also think about our youth players. At least that's my opinion.
-
I don't but now we have Marin, De Bruyne (if he's not going away on loan), Hazard, Mata, Sturridge, Ramires (as a right winger like this season), Lukaku and Torres for our attacking positions. I don't see any reason to pay so much money and fee for Hulk when we have all these young, talented players.
-
It would make sense. We already signed Marin, De Bruyne (and Hazard). We could of course sign Hulk as a second striker but seems unlikely to me.
-
@LOSCNewsEng is fake I've heard. According to Louis Saha Hazard is "Apparently on his way to Chelsea. I would be happy if it's all over and he joins us. That will also mean that we won't sign Hulk. Hazard en Marin as wingers and Mata as '10?

It's on Eurosport here so I can watch every match and Aké is the best player of his team. He is playing as a DM and was very important with an assist against Georgia!

"stadium is rectangular in shape with four separate stands. The design includes a bigger family area and more room for disabled supporters" Does that mean that some stands will be less close to the field and there will be a 'gap' between the field and the stands where the disabled supporters sit? It will be sad to leave The Bridge but necessary for our transformation to become a financially healthy club. I hope the design looks nice, because so far it sounds not great.

Gesink is very talented indeed, but unlucky in big courses. I think he fell and broke a bone in both the Vuelta and the Tour. I don't know what happened. There has always been a lack of mountains ofcourse in Holland. Maybe doping has become more important. You see a lot of South-European/Spanish cyclists now. I don't know how big the influence of Fuentes was, but he sure had a lot of customers.

I actually quite like F1. But then Ice skating for ten kilometres is the best were at so F1 is exciting for us.. You´ve got something to say about Dutch athletes/sports as well? @Those who asked Perez and Kobayashi are Sauber's drivers. Perez is talented and Kobayashi is a 'natural driver' who shows some nice things once in a while.. In this season they haven't shown something special though. But i'll still root for them.

If there would be a best player ever, and in my opinion there isn't, it would be Cruijff imo. His 65th birthday was this week and it received a lot of media attention. In VI (Dutch football magazine) was an extensive report about his life and it also mentioned that Michels wasn't really the inventor of total football and Cruijff should have got more credit for the invention of Total Football. He 'invented' (not on his own) this while he still was a player! I am probably biased by my dutch nationality (although I am not a proud Dutchmen) but the man is really a genius/God when it comes to football. He is annoying but he didn't become an idiot like Maradonna and Pele. Guardiola even gave him credit for Barca's current achievements. Furthermore, I do believe Drogba is one of our best strikers ever and when the day comes that he leaves us. We should gave him a beautiful farewell.

It's official. I saw him a couple of times at Bremen with Özil and he really impressed me. Looking forward to see him in a Chelsea shirt. Good signing!

Vitesse has alreay announced that Kalas will stay with them for another year. If they do well, he might even pick up some experience in the Europa League

Would love to see Munian. I think we should look more into our youth. Kakuta is performing excellent at Dijon as a number 10 but he could also function as a right winger (or left). Chalobah should at least get a loan. Feruz and Piazon should as well. I agree with those who said that we should have more signings like Real and United. We should really look into the Bundesliga and the Portugese Liga. There are some real talents in those competitions and we should sign them before they get a high profile like Hulk and Götze have. If we scout well we could have had Götze or Reus before they became a 40 million signing. We have to at least get rid of Malouda, Mereiles, Kalou, Bosingwa and Drogba

El Clasico is now 24 hours earlier. Saterday 21 April instead of Sunday 22 April. I wish the FA was so considerate..

Messi: I hate Chelsea (7 years ago)
BlueDutchy replied to warnie_666's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
There is no such thing as a 'best player ever'.. You can be the best player of your generation but you can't compare Messi to Maradonna or Pele. Football has evolved i the course of time. In the time of Péle, the medical staff was worse, the balls were heavier, the shoes were heavier, the pitch was worse. Things have improved since then and football is a lot 'easier' now. The football players have complete guidance and everything is taken care of for them. Maradonna was the best of his generation, so were Cruijff and Péle, so was Zidane, Di stefano -
Interesting interview with Mata. It's from before the sacking of AVB but contains still some interesting quotes. http://siemprefootball.com/juan-mata-the-interview/

FA Youth Cup: Chelsea v Manchester United | 1st Leg

Very nice scouting with Ake. He was tremendous and so was Davey. Nditi had another weak performance -
You think that will make a big difference? Then we should drop Drogba next season and then we'll be stuck with an expensive, old striker for two years. You'll see that in a year and a half we are all screaming how we shouldn't have extended Drogba contract for two years.

I think Abramovich made a mistake with signing Villas-Boas.. We are going through a unique proces and this is a crucial part. Chelsea was one of the first clubs who was bought by a wealthy owner and 'bought' their way to succes by spending a lot on players. Now we are, unlike Real Madrid who still spend loads of money every 4/5 years, trying to become financially healthy club and still win prizes at the same time. This is something that (as far as I know) has never been done before on this big a scale. We have to come from far and during this proces the results still have to be good looking at our finances. If we don't get into a top 4 spot and get into the CL we'll lose about 35 million pounds income, We can't afford that with the FFP coming up. I don't think it was a good decision to appoint a young, unexperienced manager to do this task. I know we shouldn't expect good results from him, but he at least has to manage to get us into the top 4. From the start there was a lot of pressure on him from the start and now he looks like he is really struggling. It isn't entirely his fault. Both players and manager have made mistakes, but I believe appointing Villas-Boas was a bad decision. I am not saying he isn't talentend or a good manager, because he is. He just isn't the right man for us right now Edit: I do think we should all support him right now and that he has to stay. I just wanted to make clear that I think it was the wrong decision by Abramovich
