  1. No, of course they aren't replacing Kompany because he's potentially their best CB but simply last year, Demichelis had a better season.
  2. It sickens me to see people already talking about a replacement for Didier like he's some kind plastic toy which we can replace easily... Some people would be really happy if he was really injured 6 monts.
  3. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2721966/Didier-Drogba-hopeful-quick-Chelsea-return-ankle-injury-against-Ferencvaros.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 It's nothing. Drogba’s night only lasted 28 minutes after the striker limped off with an injury. He gave an update on his situation afterwards. ‘I twisted my ankle and I couldn’t continue,’ the Ivorian explained. ‘In the next few days we are going to do some treatment and I hope everything will be better. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/08/reaction--a-difficult-game.html?WT.mc_id=social_20140811_29512986
  4. We played 3-5-2 in the second half, José asked the players to go to 5-3-2 and form one single line in defense.

  6. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2720859/Diego-Costa-Jose-Mourinho-s-battering-ram-Chelsea-season-growing-playing-alcohol-fuelled-football-streets-Brazil.html Great article. Mel and Mendilibar are in no doubt that he will succeed in west London. ‘Chelsea fans shouldn’t worry too much about what they saw from him at the World Cup,’ said Mel. ‘Playing for Spain is very different to playing for Atletico Madrid where he was superb all season. And Atletico Madrid are lot closer to Chelsea in style of play. ‘Costa will suit Chelesa and he’ll suit the Premier League too. He’ll find space in behind teams and he’ll thrive on the service from Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard and Oscar. He has the temperament to handle the Premier League and he knows how to look after himself.’ That ability to run in behind people might even give him something even Drogba did not have. Mendilibar said: ‘He’s a different player to Drogba. He’s quicker and that means he is better at running in behind teams.’ He may lack Drogba’s strength in the air but Mel said: ‘Maybe he doesn’t get on the end of every cross the way that someone like Radamel Falcao does but he is very clever in the way he makes space for himself, uses his body,’ he said. Both men agree the temperament will not be a problem. ‘Of course he has that little bit of nastiness that all strikers need and it is important that he doesn’t lose that because it is a big part of his game. But he’s clever with it,’ said Mendilibar. Mel believes the spell in the Spanish second division where ‘there is a red card every other game’ helped him learn how to keep his head. But his run-ins with Sergio Ramos and Pepe made the Madrid derby a heated affair. And it is clear Costa has not totally given up on the dark arts. ‘There are some things you should not do in a game,’ he said. ‘But there are other things that are normal when you consider how much is at stake in a big match.’ His new boss would not want it any other way. Hopefully, we'll meet Real Madrid in the CL, it would be such a magnificient fixture with Costa history with Ramos/Pepe, José/Real and Ancelotti with us.
  7. Agree on pretty much everything, seeing our style of play, I'd fancy our chance against Bayern and Barcelona. We are a better team than City but they're more consistent, and that level of consistency is enough for the PL but not for the CL and unless they elevate it more, they won't compete in the CL. Dortmund 12/13 was such a good team but right now with the players they lost and the ones who are coming back from injury, I don't know where to situate them but if they rediscover their 12/13 form, they are easily in the top 4/5 teams.
  8. I'm not surprised at all. People were quick to criticize him and write him off after two WC games but anyone who watched Atleti knew that he's a great great player.
  9. Nope, we are good to go. We are easily at the level of City, Dortmund, Barcelona and Bayern imo.Real is ahead everyone else at the moment but I think if we are to meet in the CL we could do something.
  10. For people who say he doesn't contribute offensively, what about his perfomance against Norwich away, Crystal Palace home, Liverpool Home, Southampton Away, MU home, City Away, Stoke home, Atletico Home, PSG Home and Away,...
  11. Some people here NEED to criticize, it's in their nature.
  12. Scapegoat ? Oscar had a great game so we look for someone else to criticize.
  13. That's why Courtois will take Cech's spot.
  14. Courtois & Filipe and it's our starting eleven.
  15. The players are warming up, it will start at 45.
  16. Reus didn't reject Bayern, he wanted to go there but they weren't giving him any assurance about his game time so he decided to go to Dortmund. I think we have a great chance at signing him if we're interested.
  17. We'll win the PL with something like 90 pts. RVP top scorer and Cesc PFA best player. CL Final: Chelsea - Barcelona
  18. I think United will be our main rival this year but we'll win it anyway.
  19. Why people are unhappy about him being Matic understudy ? He has shown lots of times that he can play at a high level, CL final, CL semi against Atletico, CL semi against Barcelona... He's a very good option to have in a CL campaign or in the big games.
  20. If Costa get injured, we can still put André or even Cesc striker.
