The board doesn’t have any issues flushing £35-40m down the toilet for Drinkwater and Bakayoko each, but when real quality presents itself they start doubting and penny-pinching. Typical. RLC and Barkley are attacking mids that don’t offer much in defensive phase, Kovacic does. With him you sacrifice goals but gain penetration, possession retention and defensive solidity. They all fit in the same squad and cover different roles. RLC won’t make it here anyway, so no point bringing him into discussions. Barkley and Kovacic can cover each other or even play together. Sign him up! We have been crying out for a midfielder like this for ages.

I'm with you on this one, maybe not as aggressively, but still. Let's see how the season goes, I'm saving my verbal bullets till the end of the season. If we win diddly squat and our best kids haven't progressed or worse, LEAVE due to lack of game time, I will spray venom from my tongue. Only thing that will excuse such choices across the whole season, is if we win the competitions in which they were shunned.

Does. Not. Bring. ANYTHING. Your football knowledge is severely lacking.

Provided everyone's fit, I would field this team. Kepa Azpi - Rüdiger - Luiz - Alonso Kante - Jorginho - Kovacic Pedro - Morata - Hazard GK and defence pick themselves. Kante and Kova are necessary for defensive solidity, bring on Barkley 2nd half if needed. I dislike Willian, so Pedro it is. Torrata atm is a bigger goal threat than OG, so he should start.

Not only does he not improve players, he makes them worse. We know that. Also, anybody who plays Jesse Lingard as much as he does is asking for trouble, he is the most average footballer I've ever seen, but somewhy hyped to heavens for some unknown reason (other than him being an English United darling). I wouldn't have him even on our bench, a dead end to 90% of attacks.

This makes me more astounded that Sarri decided to run him down straight after recovering from injury, against a fucking nobody team in EL away. What was he thinking?? Was it absolutely necessary? While CHO is rotting away, travelling along but playing useless minutes... I like Sarri's style and demeanor, but his squad management has been questionable since taking over.

That should be enough to get us Icardi, do it Vesp!

Start from some lower Championship or League 1 club and build them up to the Prem. Real life FM You can be the owner and head scout. Chels can send you some loanees and be guaranteed proper handling. Then we can also meet up in Stockholm (I can easily cruise there from Tallinn) and go to games together, on your expense of course.

This is sarcasm, right? Has to be.

Wasn't he signed on loan originally and it became permanent in the summer? Before the WC afaik. Doesn't matter, still a sick life for a teenager... hope it doesn't ruin him.

Chelsea’s Álvaro Morata ‘could not have felt more down’ after injury last season “The most important thing is that, finally, I have found the right way and my head is OK,” Morata said. “In football physical condition is veryimportant but the head is the most important thing. “If you don’t have the head, if the mentality is not good, then you are in trouble. I’m better. “No one, only my wife, knows how big the last year was. Now it’s OK. In the last month of last season I was down, down, down, down. I cannot be more down. When you touch the limit, the only thing you can do is to come back. “It takes long because I had an injury, I was not fit when playing, but now I feel good. I had a period where everything … if it was raining, I was angry because it’s raining; if I miss, it’s because the pitch is too wet. It was only excuses. It is not good. “Honestly, last year I was always joking in the dressing room at the beginning because I started well and was scoring goals. But the injury, it killed me, because the doctors didn’t know what I had. It was strange. Sometimes when you know you are out for one month, it’s OK in your head, because you know it is one month. But when you are trying to give your best and you are not in your best moment, it’s difficult. Now, that’s the past. “Everyone can have a bad period in their life. But we are famous, we have a lot of things. Sometimes people think we are not human, with no feelings, with no problems. The important thing is to find the right balance.uare at the Emirates, young butants and bollards – Football Weekly “Now, I have, and I am very happy. The important thing is the team. I know that sometimes I am in the middle of all the criticism when the team drops [points] or when the team loses. But it doesn’t matter. I want to win with this team and we have a very good chance.” “I suffered a lot in the past and needed to score three for myself, for my team and for the supporters,” he said. “It was very important for me. Honestly, I think I missed because I had only this in my head. “If I don’t think, probably I score. In the last 10 minutes I only have in my head ‘I want to bring the ball home’ and that’s why I missed. The goalkeeper did well. I thought he’d go down and I forgot he’s a keeper who is two metres tall and that’s why I failed. But I’m improving and this is the important thing.”

Nail, meet head. Just another name in the "Papy list". He was available and we prolly needed somebody HG. His previous partnership with Kante prolly also played some role in the board's thinking. But ultimately it was just a panic cash splash because we fucked around penny-pinching serious targets, as always. What is worse than the 35m price tag, is his wage... Desperate as FUCK. Addendum: We sold Matic and replaced him with Bakayoko too. I want to cry. I'm not sure the board even realize how much they fucked up with those transfers, because history shows they don't ever learn from their mistakes.
-
Real must be fuming they didn't go after Sarri when they had the chance Why they went for Lopetegui in first place I have no idea. In the process they prolly fucked Spain over by making them change the coach with 1 day or so remaining till WC. Real are scum, I hope this is the start of a long struggle for them.

Why are we only hearing about contract extensions to players who shouldn't get one?
-
What does Zola have to do with Willian here? I'm confused...
-
I have no idea why you randomly brought up Tiago But yes, I remember thinking he was a good player, even though I was a kid and don't remember much about that time. Here is my top 5 god list just because I'm bored: Lampard JT Drogba Cech Zola (seen him play very little when I was young, don't remember much, but recognize his quality, contribution, love and loyalty to us. Put him 5th because I watched the above names regularly). If I had to pick only players I saw, then Ashley would take Zola's spot, Magnificent full-back, best I've seen. To think we once had all of them in one team, man... Sometimes I think we underachieved with that squad by fucking around with shit managers. If we'd got King Carlo straight after Mourinho I think this squad would have fulfilled its potential to higher level.

Sarri said he didn't care who was captain as this was never as important in Italy as it is in England, and this decision confirms it. Frankly it doesn't bother me, out of regular players Azpi is the real captain and rightly so, because GC plays only in mickey mouse games.
-
Okay, but how did Makelele and Hazard make the god list ahead of JT, Drogba, Osgood and Zola though?
-
What does that even mean?
