  1. I would understand that if it was maliciously directed at a whole race, but it was aimed at a single individual who, as I understand, is his friend(why would he be if Silva is being a racist prick towards him?) and didn't kick up any fuss over it. I don't see any intent to dehumanize or pickawhatever anybody either. Unless Mendy expresses that it somehow hurt him, then it's a non-story for me. The only thing I blame Bernardo of is that he wasn't smart enough to realize the snowflakey world we live in these days and shouldn't have posted that publicly. If you want to see real racism, then I can dig up some nazi forum links from dark web for you. 6 game ban for something that the supposed victim didn't even complain about is far over the top and is probably being done only for PR purposes (hey look! we're combating savage racism!)

  5. Just looked up this B.Silva case. Did anybody ask Mendy what he thought about it? To me it seems like friendly banter, nothing more nothing less. Racist? There is REAL racism in the world which they should focus their energy on, not some harmless jokes. The word "racism" has been devalued so badly, as if friends joking among each other is equal to some violent nazi pieces of shits
  6. Correct. Worst footballer for me has to be Bakayoko. Most disappointing? Torres by a landslide.
  7. Actually for his size he went down incredibly rarely when he had the chance. Was often able to stay on his feet when pushed and shoved while many other wingers would have gone down, so I wholeheartedly disagree with the opinion that he went down too easily. He took many hard tackles almost every game and shrugged them off, he was lucky not to get serious injuries just like Lampard was, for example.
  8. Yep, I'm not worried about RB at the moment for this reason. Reece will eventually take over as natural progression and Azpi will be a good backup on the pitch as well as a good influence off it. No need to go for RB in the coming market.
  9. Circumstances for our youngsters and Pulisic are different, Chelsea has been their home since they were kids, Pulisic meanwhile has that whole adapting to new club and country thing to do first before he can start firing like the graduates. What I am quite certain of is that he has been left out of the team mostly due to defensive reasons, introducing other wingers has definitely helped our open play defending.
  10. We're one month into the season, I think it's a bit early to start labeling him delusional or stubborn. Saw someone say he is more stubborn than Sarri... fuck me Sarri took over half a season to start tinkering with tactics and to stop making the same subs over and over again. What I see in Lamps and the young players is them trying their best for the club, but they simply are not yet good or experienced enough to instantly make us what most would like us ideally to be. It's part of the learning curve for Frank, for the players, and even for the fans to start being more patient and supportive.
  11. Want to see James, CHO and Pulisic starting here.
  12. A liability out of his depth. Nervous every time he gets the ball under pressure, teammates are clearly avoiding passing to him, positioning is suspect. Should be sold next summer and replaced with a ready-made CB to partner Rüdiger, let AC and Tomori fight it out for rotational spots if one of them doesn't come good BIG TIME this season. But as things stand, Zouma needs to go and instant impact signing needs to be made.
  13. He should, but we had nobody to put at RB/RWB. Otherwise if we did, then Azpi over Zouma in a back 3 all day long.
  14. Horrible player, frustrating to watch in and around the box.
  15. @Vesper Do you happen to know of any good quality Russian streams?
  16. @Vesper I need you right now EDIT: Nevermind, I thought the match had already started
  17. Honestly can't tell if that's Luiz or Guendowhatshisname.
  18. Hazard showed some rust and came close to creating a goal for Madrid but also gave the ball away – much to the frustration of ex-Chelsea team-mate and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. ‘He almost scored a goal with what he did [in attack],’ Courtois told Movistar. ‘He has a lot of pace with the ball, it’s what he does. ‘But I got a little p***** off with him because he lost the ball twice.’ https://metro.co.uk/2019/09/15/how-eden-hazard-pd-off-thibaut-courtois-during-real-madrid-debut-10746338/
  19. When you have no real quality youngsters coming up in that position, then you buy instant quality given the chance. Let's be honest, Tammy was more or less considered just another part of the loan army at that time, he wasn't put in the same hype brackets as CHO or RLC and everybody wanted an upgrade to striker position. There was little to no talk of blocking Tammy's path. Had we not got banned and Lampard as head coach as a result, he probably wouldn't even be here. We were pretty much forced to keep him and luckily it's paying off at the moment, he is shutting up many doubters (including me). The real indicator will be if he will be able to do it over long periods of time, purple patches come and go so let's not also get ahead of ourselves.
  20. No, not at that time. It's not like they are fortune tellers so whatever is happening now is irrelevant to decisions made then.
  21. I told in some match day topic that I didn't believe in him much, but glad to see him making me look clueless. Fine form he's in, long may it continue True passion playing for the club as well, something that can't be bought.
  22. Yeah I'm usually pretty optimistic, but winning this one will feel like a bit of a miracle. Kante and Emerson out, Alonso in... I'm hoping he will have the game of his life to claim his stake, but what I think will happen is that he will be targeted and it will pay off for them. Zouma being his cover on that side isn't encouraging either.
  23. Last season Sarri spoke quite a bit about defensive positioning while having the ball. This was when we were too exposed to counter-attacks and leaked goals due to attacking players' positioning being too forward and not thinking about what would happen if they lost the ball, after which our style of play became more pragmatic and less fluid. It wasn't easy on the eye at times, but our defence certainly improved. I think this might be one of the issues now - players having maybe too much freedom, which means the team loses its shape defending quick counters. Perhaps the team needs more time and experience playing together, to develop that positional understanding and discipline.
