Circumstances for our youngsters and Pulisic are different, Chelsea has been their home since they were kids, Pulisic meanwhile has that whole adapting to new club and country thing to do first before he can start firing like the graduates. We're one month into the season, I think it's a bit early to start labeling him delusional or stubborn. What I see in Lamps and the young players is them trying their best for the club, but they simply are not yet good or experienced enough to instantly make us what most would like us ideally to be. When you have no real quality youngsters coming up in that position, then you buy instant quality given the chance. Let's be honest, Tammy was more or less considered just another part of the loan army at that time, he wasn't put in the same hype brackets as CHO or RLC and everybody wanted an upgrade to striker position. Last season Sarri spoke quite a bit about defensive positioning while having the ball. This was when we were too exposed to counter-attacks and leaked goals due to attacking players' positioning being too forward and not thinking about what would happen if they lost the ball, after which our style of play became more pragmatic and less fluid. It wasn't easy on the eye at times, but our defence certainly improved. I think this might be one of the issues now - players having maybe too much freedom, which means the team loses its shape defending quick counters. Perhaps the team needs more time and experience playing together, to develop that positional understanding and discipline.
