  1. Actually the word "yid" isn't supposed to be offensive, as certain Jewish groups call themselves that.
  2. Kalou calibre will not be missed.
  3. If those African players are of Drogba/Essien calibre, then a month every 2 years is an acceptable sacrifice.
  4. Schürrle is one of the German names I threw out a while back as somebody I want here. Marin was also one, and it did come true. Now Schürrle would be great as well. The problem with the likes of Hulk is that they are too fucking expensive, but I wouldn't mind either.
  5. It's a stretch to say that City would dominate for decades after just one league triumph. Has a team ever actually dominated for, say, 20 years? People thought the same about us, we were practically unplayable and instantly successful right from the start of Roman's takeover, but look where we are now. We get flashes of brilliance due to the amazing team spirit, I don't think City can come even close to us in that respect. TX, I usually agree with you and I agree that City having a successful season would be a potential disaster, but saying that they will dominate for tens of years is a big stretch imo.
  6. Added a song nice. I think there used to be already a profile song option, no?
  7. So beating a team doesn't mean you're better? What does.. losing?
  8. If there is no hope for 4th place by that time, then I see why not. Although against Liverpool we must play with a strong squad, not completely with reserves and youngsters.. because we can't just gift a win to the scum and in that game we'll still have hope for 4th.
  9. Yep, the same applies to arsenal (RVP).
  10. I think TX hasn't. The staff here hate(d) him so much that one of them (Bluelion I believe) said that it would mark the end of his days if he won it.. or something like that, I can't remember.
  11. He said that? He was disgusted probably because he was persuaded to join by his agent for money and he didn't want to leave Marseille, a place he probably became fond of.
  12. we really are putting all our stack on one bet. big risk.
  13. Yep, I prefer 'underachieved' to 'failed'. He had no luck with the finals, it was not only up to him to win them. If Cech, Lampard, Terry or Drogba finish their careers without a major trophy (by major I mean everything above domestic titles), they will have underachieved too, but I wouldn't consider them failures. Hell, Drogba hasn't even won the ACON with a strong team, bottling 2 finals in the process. We could call Didier our "jynxed one". Hopefully he'll change that in 2 weeks.
  14. It's probably the hardest poll for me to choose from. I promised TX I'd vote for him the other day, so I will stick to my word and he does deserve it. But when Chelsea play shit or lose I look most forward to Ollie's posts (for some odd reason I thought he used to be a mod too) and his rants I find myself agreeing most with him and TX. But I just yesterday laid my eyes on Strike's articles and they were very good and it definitely took a lot of effort.. I heard he also writes players' bios for the frontpage, mad respect for him. Whoever wins will be worthy.
  15. Are you saying that we can match city in the market? No, I believe we can't match City's wage offers. They are on crazy payrolls which would get them in trouble if the sheikh suddenly resigned and cut money supplies. Back when we started we offered unmatched salaries too. Hell, even now we are on some insane payrolls, but nowhere near city.
  16. goal of the season most likely, but i haven't seen all goals
  17. It's not as much that we have changed, but mostly that City have outmuscled us financially, leaving us more in background. And change or no change, we are still playing with players who were originally tempted primarily with money, so it's still hypocritical in my eyes. Yet we call it "ambition" when they join us, which could partly be true... that's exactly what City fans say, they do in fact have an ambitious project in hand, like we do(did?). But if you think about it, just a year ago we spent over 70 million on two players, one of whom was bought for a record sum and gets mad cash per week.. not very conservative if you ask me.
  18. That's exactly what other clubs' fans said when we did the same. It's kind of hypocritical for a Chelsea fan to say that. Nevertheless, some of the "moneyhunting cunts" have lived to become legends here, most notably Drogba. True, we never spent such amounts of money, but by those times standards, it was practically the same as City today (unmatched, dominating the market, luring players with financial reassurances). The more pleasing it is to see that City haven't been able to replicate or outdo Chelsea's achievements, it proves that for a brief moment we got things right, then went into a downward spiral.. you can barely notice City's upward spiral, constantly failing in their endeavours and all.
  19. Who does this to his captain? What a cunt. I would like to see him try that with Terry or Puyol. Although I can hear the narrator saying "kapitän mark van bommel", I suppose Lahm wasn't captain back then.
  20. Well, at least some tension is behind us now that a loss has occured - better to get it now than in a final. A good wake up call before 2 big finals, all is not rosy even if you beat a bunch of drunks by five goals and it will hopefully eliminate the possibility of complacency. And holy shitballs what a goal by Cisse! By far the best I've seen in a while. And probably the most appealing brace I've ever witnessed. Too bad it was for the wrong side.
  21. Liverpool v Everton - everton west Brom v Wolves - don't care Utd v City - depending on the result which would benefit chelsea, but generally I despise manu more. Southampton v Portsmouth - don't care
