  1. I am pleased with the result, but not satisfied with the game in general. It shouldn't have gone to extra time, United were playing a championship team at best yet we still struggled. Our only real reserve player was Piazon, who only played half of the game. Put it this way, our squad would challenge for top 4 in the league, United's team would fight for lower-middle places if not relegation. I don't like that Mata had to play 130 minutes, I don't like how we conceded our goals. Oh well, I'm not trying to bring the mood down, I'm just pointing out that despite the good result the road to getting that result was far from ideal. I don't know how much our defence can hold on like this, we played our current strongest central pairing and goalkeeper yet they still let in stupid mistakes. Maybe it was tired legs from 3 days before and/or lack of concentration, I don't know, but it mustn't happen in the league or Champions League. I still didn't see that anywhere near to being a revenge. The real thing will take place at Old Toilet. Anyway, onwards and upwards :blue scalf:
  2. Well, I never take keen interest in match officials. I usually find out about them just before or after the match kicks off.
  3. Why shouldn't i have taken it seriously? What made it an obvious joke?
  4. Really? Fuck no... 2 muppets in a row, ferg really is pushing it.
  5. Chelmsford, what an appropriate location for a Chels fan
  6. Faster than Bolt. If you ejaculate yourself through a 100m sprint, you may win a Olympic gold.
  7. How in the fuck was Walcott allowed to score a hattrick? Once you do that you deserve to lose.
  8. You can't be serious. We need our best players in best form in the league, we have a realistic chance of going for the title. COC is just an annoyance in the way. If we win, great, if we don't, meh... Like Ollie said, the real revenge mission will be at Old Trafford. It would be best if we could use our main hitmen to the minimum in this game. Besides, Swansea are a formidable team, especially at home. I had a look at ManU's last team against Newcastle, I literally don't know any of the defenders that played. We can afford to rest Mata.
  9. Here's an interesting article about Clattenburg's antics and corruption in England in general http://diminbeirut.typepad.com/my-blog/2012/10/the-whole-worlds-watching.html
  10. I don't think Marin is fit enough to start the match. He hasn't played at all, he probably has ~15 minutes in him. I'm pretty sure he will be subbed in at around 75-80th minute, provided no forced substitutions happen before. Therefore I think Moses, Oscar and Hazard will start.. mainly because Mata played full 90, while they were subbed off. Dave, Cahill, Luiz and Sturridge are certain to start, all the rest is up for grabs. This is my line-up prediction: Turnbull, Dave, Cahill, Luiz, Bertrand, Romeu, Ramires, Moses, Oscar, Hazard, Sturridge
  11. "It is understood Mikel himself did not hear the alleged comment and was told of it later by team-mates." Sounds all too familiar.
  12. The way he won the free-kick from which Mata scored was amazing, totally humiliated Rooney. Does it count as an assist? Since it does if you won a penalty, then it should if you won the FK too.
  13. He scored yet another tap in, which, to top it off, was illegitimate. Friggin hate when he plays, you know he will be shit but will score some 10 centimetre shot.
  14. Yep, a straight red. Torres should have been off far earlier than he really was, but it doesn't justify compensating one bad call with another bad call later on. Also, at the end of the game some ManU player got a yellow for diving, even though it really wasn't afaik. This Clattenburg fella has a hard time judging dives. I can't help but laugh whenever I see the face of this 4th official, he looks depressed and is probably murdering everybody in his thoughts He was getting ripped all game long for inept decisions made by someone who he has no control over.
  15. What is Torres doing there? His team just scored but he's risking getting booked. E: On a second look he did that before the ball went in.
  16. I found this piece on craigslist written by Leif http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/lax/35274458.html
  17. Why does he take corners? I don't remember him taking a single good corner.
  18. The moment I saw him clip Young I knew it was trouble. He shouldn't have gone so close to a notorious cheat like Young, he should have known better. He was on his stinky left foot, he would have probably blasted it wide or straight at Cech. A hard decision for the ref to make, I'll give him that. In the end I think it was a mistake both by the ref and Ivanovic.
  19. It was probably to provide more physicality and freshness up front. Since we were down, it was inevitable we'd play more long balls and hopeful crosses, Studge has a better chance of winning them than Hazard. It was cautious not to sub Mikel or Ramires, since there was still time he hoped we'd score from counter-attack with Mata, Studge and Rami bombing forward. Taking one of them away would have greatly reduced our chances of regaining the ball and initiating a counter, while it would have been much more dangerous defensively. I can understand why he did that, Ramires/Mikel alone in the middle wouldn't have worked. The defence needs to be more secure in order to even have possession, otherwise we'd only invite them deeper in our half, which causes only trouble against a side like Utd... and the gap between midfield and attack would reduce, meaning greater chance of losing the ball when playing out of the back. It also gave the full-backs more security going forward, as they were necessary to create width.. had we taken one of our mids away, they wouldn't have been able to do that.
