I remember when Cech wasn't exactly renowned for his penalty saving skills. I wasn't confident at all whenever we condeded a penalty, because he couldn't save one in a long time, he constantly went the wrong way etc. But some time after 2010 he has greatly improved in that area in my opinion. That UCL final was the best GK performance I've ever witnessed, in terms of rejecting penalties to be precise. Now I feel much more confident when we're facing a peno. He's a very intelligent guy, you can feel that when he's speaking, he puts less emphasis on 'luck' and more emphasis on studying. In that respect he reminds of Lampard, because both of them strike me as the kind of players who work on their weaknesses, not only strengths. He's so consistent also, just like Lampard used to be. He plays so many games each season, hardly getting any rest, but he still puts on performances and makes saves that leave my jaw dropped... he's done that ever since he's joined. He's won us more points and games than he's cost us.

It is alleged that the conduct of Suarez constitutes violent conduct and it is The FA’s contention that the standard punishment of three matches that would otherwise apply is clearly insufficient in these circumstances. The hamster is actually getting punished. GET IN!

It depends. It could help if you don't assume that moving alone will achieve anything, you will have to act instantly towards change. I fooled myself thinking I was gonna change just by moving cities, how wrong was I. I remained the same and over time I believe I have gotten worse. It's because I was and still am living in my shell and I haven't tried hard enough to break out from it. I can relate to a lot of what you said, especially the part of doing nothing but refreshing forums all day, this is 90% of my day right there. I've accepted the truth that I'm hopeless and the sooner I'm gone, the better. I'm not at peace with this knowledge, but it's a fact which I've come to realize. If you haven't accepted this kind of mentality yet, then you have every chance for positive change if you force yourself out there, then you're not a lost cause.

Look, you simply don't say things like that as a player. You can spout crap as much as you want once you're retired, but what you say affects your team. For example if I was a player and actually wanted to win it or at least give my everything, then I would feel disheartened if I had to play with someone who publicy admits he doesn't care. In the back of my mind I will always hesitate to pass him the ball because I can't count on him to do the best he can with it. I wouldn't feel confident with him protecting the defense. Also, does he want to be benched? Because I'm not sure any manager likes to hear things like that. It doesn't show ambition, it shows he has an attitude problem. What you say to the press should be something that won't taint the image of your club and won't compromise the confidence of your team, he can be 'ambitious' quietly.

I'm sure this has been posted here before, but this is the first time I've read it: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/apr/08/john-obi-mikel-chelsea-europa-league'>Mikel John Obi dismisses Europa League as 'Thursday nights, Channel 5' I think it's safe to concede that this guy has an attitude problem.

The Official TC 'We don't hate Man City thread'
manpe replied to capriccioso's topic in General Chat
TX has a point. But still, we don't hate man city One of cap's unfortunate threads. Who decided to make it "official" though? Staff should remove it from the title if it's not recognized as a general consensus of the forum. -
The Rafa Conundrum The thought process of Rafael Benitez 1. Play a striker, who you know is never going to perform against his ex-club? - CHECK 2. Keep that striker on for all 97 minutes in spite of him clearly not looking like scoring or doing anything useful? - CHECK 3. We're 2-1 up, we need to defend this lead, who do I bring on? Right, Yossi, on you go! You clearly add more defensive presence than Eden. - CHECK 4. Regular time's almost up, Liverpool are bombarding our box, what do I do? Who's our best player to fend off crosses into our box? Let's see who I've got left... Turnbullshit no, Paulo Clooney no, Ba no, Terry FUCK NO! Oi, Frankie, you still on 200 goals? You want a new contract or what? Then go and help us defend, maybe you're lucky and they concede another penalty. - CHECK 5. Now let's see, I brought on Yossi "You'll Never Walk Alone" Benayoun, Holy Moses, Lampard... this should work, I mean they're all intimidating defenders, right, rrrriiiiiight? - NO, YOU FAIL 6. So, who won? I can't raise my head to check the scoreboard 'cause of my heavy double chin. Oh, nobody? Diss not so bad. - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

You are the Torres of this forum - a has been, who nobody likes anymore.
-
That's a very good point actually, never thought of that.
-
@, but do you hate liverpool? You can't just come on here and not say anything hateful against them, now come on, that's just rude.
-
Added the warning to the OP. We don't want anyone to get banned over a misunderstanding now do we.

It's true what you say, in a nutshell "what's done is done, move on".. but we are an internet forum, we discuss things, including the things that are done but don't agree with. Turning the other cheek or closing our eyes just because we can't do anything about it would defeat the purpose of an online community. Anyway, Torres was given enough time to regain his "form". Talking about form, we've seen his best form, it was just before this Liverpool game. It's his ceiling, he has no class anymore. It's pretty obvious Torres has stuck around only because of financial reasons, so it might make sense to the board to have him around, but average Joes like myself don't see it that way. We're probably naive, but we believe that shit players should be let go and better players should be kept. When that doesn't happen, there's wide discontent. Sturridge's performance reminded us what kind of potential we have lost for monetary reasons, his 45 minutes against us was better than what Torres has ever played for us. In short, I can see your reasoning, it's cold and rational. But you have to understand that many people thrive on emotions and you can't deny that what we saw yesterday, the stark contrast between their ex-player and our ex-player, was enough to cause uproar.
-
Our future might be bright but our present is far from it. Our present and even future might have been, actually no, scratch that... would have definitely been much brighter with him and without the useless one. We are probably the only club in the world that prefers cancer over a potential cure.

That game was the catalyst to reinvent this thread though. In addition to arsenal and united threads, we also have tottenham and QPR ones. But we do have a "we don't hate man city" thread... yeah, lots of love there.

The last thread was erased unjustly and hastily. If there is one team that deserves its own hate-thread, it's undoubtedly this vile lot. Let the hate continue! NB!
-
Are you serious? Blaming everybody else except for ourselves. His scratchy teeth had nothing to do with us gifting points away long before that.

Joking, right?

Time to get the bookmark out. I'm a bit surprised though, I thought they were supposed to reveal it on 15th May or smth. But I must say the kit looks nice, not better than this year's, but still nice. At least the dark ages of kits of 2008-2011 seem to be over now. They've finally realized the less the better. Could have done with a little less white, but it's no biggy.
