So it was indeed his first direct goal from corner, all the other have been loose balls or scraps. It was the only thing missing from his goal repertoire, now he's finally got it.

Our defense is leaky at the moment because our midfield and forward line has become considerably weaker in that department. Believe me when I say that if we still had players in the mould of Makelele, Essien and Ballack destroying the midfield, we'd have no such problems with our current defensive line-up. Our lot in the middle and up front simply get overrun. We need Mikel back badly, and we need to sort out the position next to him if we're going to persist with this fucking 4-2-3-1. It would also help if our bunch of playmakers would be stronger and more aggressive and defensively more aware of things.

The Bridge would be buzzing with positive energy. The talk that Mourinho is in the past and should stay there is rubbish. He's a world class blue through and through, can't ask for much more. He would actually care, we saw what caring did for us last season. Rafa doesn't care, he has loser's mentality, it transfers onto the players. My dream summer would be Benitez and Torres out, Mourinho in. It would give me a strong enough high to not care what other moves we would make.
