Mourinho gave a tactical reason for that game and it made sense because of Ivanovic playing at RB being able to convert to CB if need be. Now we had no options to switch to three central defenders, so the reasons must have been different.

He's shaky at the moment, but we need to keep hold of him no matter what. True quality goalkeepers are hard to come by so I think he's going to turn out to be a massive player for us for years to come. Let him make mistakes and learn from them, as far as goalkeepers go he's still in his baby shoes.

Taking that into consideration I thought he did really well, but I felt safer soaking the pressure with Baba and I think this substitution was exactly for that. He hasn't shown signs of regaining form while everybody else has. He was so bad that I feel we are defensively more solid with Fabregas and Mikel than Mikel and Matic.

If we play with two forwards, will there be a place for Fabregas in a 2 man midfield? Usually giving up numbers in midfield means you have to have energetic and dynamic players in there, not to mention they have to be above average at defending. Cesc doesn't fit the bill if we go 4-4-2. However the likes of Vidal and Nainggolan match up, and they are the players we are linked with.
