Subject: Chelsea players are a disgrace! Thibaut Courtois is average, John Terry made the club look bad and Eden Hazard is a joke who looks like he should be at Chester And then, Maybe Eden Hazard should be stripped of last year's player of the year title As if this season's form has anything to do with last season's. Joke of a journalist.

We're almost certainly going to sign a marquee defender, a first choice, so the second spot will be a dogfight between Zouma and Christensen. 4th spot can stay Cahill's, decent back up. Will be interesting.

A performance matching this season's standard, nothing new. Fabregas MOTM.
-
Eating away RLC's minutes, his sole purpose.
-
Brilliant. I love everything I read about him, especially his former players' quotes. Seems like a top man.
-
One of the things I loved about Jose was how he always furiously defended his players in unjust situations like that.
-
Wouldn't mind him as a stop-gap either if we sell Costa. He'd light a fire under other players' butts with his attitude and status. Doesn't rely on pace, still in exemplary physical shape despite age, clinical finisher. Legendary striker. And his nose still hasn't reached England.

Will this mark the end of Emenalo?

Opened thread, looked at the graphics, saw Stones at LB and Ivanovic at RB, dismissed thread. Sorry.

Can we now safely say journos are full of shit?
-
Yeah... Lukaku left Ivan kissing the grass and Azpi admiring his back, but in the end both ended up closer to him than Mikel and Lukaku was running straight at him before cutting to his left. I was baffled, didn't notice it during the game. The more I replay it, the more I'm convinced Mikel was the main culprit, because the initial situation happened far away from the goal, yet he was still allowed to run by our anchor man. I would make a gif of it if I knew how to.
-
Am just watching Chels-Everton highlights and regarding the first Lukaku goal Mikel was pathetic. Sure Romelu bullied Azpi and Ivanovic and sure he made Cahill breakdance, but Mikel had a good opportunity to disrupt his run or do ANYTHING, at least go with him, but big Mike just stood there like a pole. Awful awful defending.

The players had no problems not turning up in games when it mattered, so I see no problem in them not turning up when it doesn't matter. We flushed our season down the toilet months ago, the least we can do is take Spurs with us if it comes to that and let a truly remarkable fairy tale story be written in history. So yes, I am all for taking a dive if it comes to that.

I thought it was obvious Terry was brought in to win headers as we were looking to play long balls. It wasn't the first time, he's been used as an extra striker in situations like this for as long as I can remember. Even the equalizer against United came partly thanks to JT's movement. Pato, with his suspect match fitness and what I assume to be not great aerial ability, wouldn't have helped us one bit I feel. I'm surprised nobody's calling for Falcao to play, they both are basically playing the same role in the team (injured or unfit misfits). Forget about Pato, this deal is a flop.
-
Does this take into account also his time in the Belgian league?
-
Care to refresh my memory? Was he injured? He used to be one of the best tacklers and game breakers last season, he truly bossed his role. Hence "the spider" nickname. Now he's late to most of the situations where he should be before they happen. He's lost tactically and probably has a demon at the back of his mind telling him he's not good enough.

Actually f*** that, it's Wet Spam, let's not fold before the game has even started. Still a derby and a matter of pride. I would take a draw, but losing would hurt to this lot (I once knew an abusive and racist WH fan towards me, I want him to suffer). Main motivation should be to put a dent in their top 4 hopes. COYB!

The key here is that Guus took them to mediocrity, exactly. Before those expensive overpaid players weren't even mediocre, but utter garbage. It's clear our attacking has improved (we are scoring open play goals instead of relying on Willian's FKs). Defence is as hopeless as it was, but we are now at least managing to outscore opponents from time to time. And as Tomo pointed out, we've gone from relegation form to title challenging form ever since. That is a huge difference, I have no doubt we would have lost a lot more if Jose was still here - he had palpable discord with not only the players, but the staff as well since day 1 actually. I don't have any reason to doubt Emenalo's words, we could all see it. FYI I thought Emenalo's statement was fine, people are going over the top with the blame game (the 'individual' comment irked me a bit though, but whatever). I was in denial before, because I love him, but I have now accepted that he lost the plot. When a change of only the manager (he didn't even bring any backroom staff afaik) brings along such a big difference that we went 12 or so games unbeaten, then it's clear where the main problem lied.

I'm confused over your avatar. Is it Cesc's face on Costa's head? Or only the mouth? Or am I seeing things?
-
Conte: "I stepped down because we have no chance." Yeah, this is the kind of coach we need.
-
I wouldn't want him then, that would say a lot about his attitude if he dumped his ongoing commitment like that. Plus I don't think it's that easy, he's under contract and we or him would need to buy his contract out.
-
The guy has been playing basically non-stop for two years now, barely gets a rest and always gives his all. And considering how much work our defenders must do due to non-existent midfield, I think he is exhausted. It's not easy being one of Mourinho's untouchables.
-
I have no doubt that we will play the same ol' line-up, possibly even Mikel-Matic pairing again, because it is the mighty high rolling West Ham and as per that logic we must "secure" our midfield with those two classy players. But we're playing home, so maybe we'll take a "risk" with Fabregas-Mikel. The season is over, youth and fringe players need to be introduced. I want to see this: Begovic Azpi - Miazga - Terry - Baba Fabregas - Mikel Willian - Cheeks - Kenedy Traore No doubt we'll lose with that line-up, but who cares.

When will the idiotic Messi and Ronaldo comparisons stop? In our team only Marin can be compared to Messi, and he's out on loan.

Who in the squad should stay and who should leave ?
manpe replied to bluephoenix's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Remy and probably Matic need to leave and Falcao is a goner anyway, additionally Ramires already left. The squad is thin as it is, so we can't sell a bunch. Ideally I would like to see the back of Oscar too, but I don't think that's gonna happen. The ones who in my opinion need to stay at all costs are Terry, Hazard, Willian, Zouma, Azpi and Courtois.
