  1. He has a horrible attitude, is over-rated and is an ugly motherfucker. No thanks.
  2. You can only beat what team you're drawn against in the Cup. And with the giant-killings of United, Liverpool and Arsenal, you can't take beating Cardiff, Watford and Preston lightly.
  3. No I'm cheating myself to stay second at the minute, I've had a shit run recently And my relationship with Drogs is on cause Frank dumped me </3
  4. Rest in peace. My dad seems to remember him bouncing the ball off the crossbar after making a catch sometimes, when he was bored
  5. Yeah, please do see my stats column They're useful for my match reports, which is why I keep them
  6. Welcome to the forum, still think you can win the title?
  7. Fancy us to go there and get the three points, no doubt, but this will be a lot harder than the 4-0 back at the Bridge in November. An early goal is pivotal. They're not the tallest team so set pieces, for once, shouldn't be too much of a problem but Alex/Terry/Carvalho will have their hands full with Doyle who's in excellent form at the moment.
  8. If Kalou was keeping Kaka, rather than Kakuta, off the bench, then I'd be worried. However, back to the topic, Sturridge has delighted me. For a young man coming to the club it is always going to be hard to break into the first team, especially with the likes of Drogba, Anelka and Kalou already established in that role. He's done exceptionally well when called upon, and made some important contributions - four goals and a number of assists, including the set up for the winner against Fulham and Lampard's penalty against West Ham. He's done well considering he's had limited opportunities, so I'm delighted with his progress.
  9. Send it to either myself or Jim via PM mate
  10. England Away Spain Away - one of the nicest kits I've seen for a while. Plain and simple.
  11. Agree with you there, in part, anyway. At the end of the day he's made a mistake. They obviously love each other. Its good for Terry, though, and this will no doubt help his confidence - which is good for Chelsea.
  12. I'd put money on us facing Stoke to be honest. I can't see Citeh winning at the Britannia. Actually wouldn't be surprised to see Stoke win by a couple of goals, City aren't anything special.
  13. Didier Drogba inspired Chelsea to a comfortable victory over Cardiff City. The Ivorian striker scored his 23rd goal of the season with just two minutes on the clock to give Chelsea a deserved early lead. But there were elements of complacency in Chelsea's play throughout the first half, and it came as little surprise when the tenacity of the visiting side was rewarded when Michael Chopra headed past Henrique Hilario. But Drogba was the source of all of Chelsea's creativity, and he played an exquisite ball to Michael Ballack, who fired Chelsea back into the lead. And there was no mistake from Daniel Sturridge as he hammered home his fourth goal in the FA Cup this season. Substitute Salomon Kalou capped off a hugely satisfying performance for Carlo Ancelotti's side with a fine header which sees Chelsea unbeaten at Stamford Bridge for 37 matches. And a comfortable victory for Chelsea ensures that a third home tie of the competition will see the Blues face either Stoke City or Manchester City in the quarter-finals, with a replay between the two sides to follow. The Chelsea manager made a number of changes to the side that went down 2-1 at Goodison Park to Everton thanks to Louis Saha's brace, with only Drogba, John Mikel Obi, Frank Lampard, Ricardo Carvalho and Yuri Zhirkov retaining their places after a dismal team showing on Merseyside. But thoughts of Wednesday were quickly forgotten as Chelsea raced into an early lead. Mikel capitalised on some lacklustre defending by the visitors, freeing Drogba who had a clear route to goal. The Chelsea striker's touch did not let him down as he lashed beyond David Marshall for his fourth goal in as many games since returning from Angola. Daniel Sturridge celebrates his fourth of the season with Drogba. An early goal was exactly what Ancelotti would have hoped for, but Dave Jones' side rallied and replied in kind. Gabor Gyepes wasted a presentable chance, before Anthony Gerrard, cousin of Liverpool skipper Steven - produced a sensational save from Hilario to preserve Chelsea's lead. But the Blues' defensive lapses were evident once more when Chopra stole home to score his 17th of a productive season for the former Sunderland forward. There was an inquest between goalkeeper and defence following the goal; centre backs Carvalho and Alex were certainly at fault. Needless to say, Chelsea's second half performance was much more authoritative, and Michael Ballack notched home a fine goal to cap off a flowing Chelsea move. It was started and ended by the German, who latched on to Drogba's magnificent chip over the defence, and Ballack nonchalantly lifted the ball into the net over the keeper. Mark Kennedy's last-ditch block prevented Alex from making amends as he denied the Brazilian a first goal of the season, whilst Drogba and Zhirkov were off-target from long range. Sturridge - anonymous for much of the first half - was becoming much more involved, and he shot just wide of the post from thirty yards. And Sturridge's growing influence on the game was underlined when he made the most of a loose ball to slide home underneath Marshall for his fourth goal of the season. The young England striker had combined well with Drogba, and it was a deserved goal from Chelsea's number 23. Cardiff's misery was made complete on 86 minutes when Kalou - something of a cup goalscoring specialist - superbly headed home Paulo Ferreira's cross. Kalou has found the net in the Champions League and both domestic cup competitions this season, and his strike was his first goal for the club since December, against Blackburn. A third FA Cup in four seasons looks ever-likely for Chelsea - their ruthless efficiency in this competition means they are now seven years unbeaten at home and nine matches without loss in the competition. Bring on City - Stoke or Manchester. ___________________________________________________________________ Chelsea: Hilario; Ferreira, Alex, Carvalho, Zhirkov; Ballack, Mikel, Lampard ©; J Cole (Kalou), Sturridge (Malouda); Drogba (Borini) Cardiff(4-4-2): Marshall; McNaughton, Gerrard, Gyepes, Kennedy; Burke (McCormack), Rae (Blake), Wilding (Taiwo), Whittingham; Chopra, Bothroyd © The TalkChelsea.net Man of the Match was Chelsea's number 11 - Didier Drogba

  15. Bosingwa's best game for Chelsea was in the Nou Camp at left-back. Although Yuri's a natural left-footer, I don't fancy him playing against the likes of Ronaldo, Messi and so on if we progress in Europe.
  16. Fuck 'em all. Chelsea through and through.
  17. Good, now he's getting some at home again, he can improve on the pitch.
  18. Agreed. I don't think we can award him a new contract just because he's a fan favourite. We can't give him three or four more years based on what he's done previously in a Chelsea shirt. In my opinion, he needs to either step up his game, or find a new club. Malouda's been far more productive this season. Granted he's still not fully fit, but that's part of my point - Joe is injury-prone and I can't see him replicating the form he hit between 2005 and 2006 ever again.
  19. When you're at a club like Chelsea, it is incredibly difficult for young players to break into the starting eleven. Teams like Chelsea demand instant success in terms of winning trophies, and this means playing the strongest possible team for every game. That means its hard for a young player like Borini to come in and replace either Didier Drogba or Nicolas Anelka, or for Malouda to be dropped in favour of Gael Kakuta. Unfortunately, that's the problem these young stars have at Chelsea, and only the best will make the grade. They should be ready to take whatever opportunities they get. Sturridge is the perfect example. Granted, its only a handful of goals in the FA Cup, but its still a decent record; he's scored four goals in his last nine games, despite starting only three of those matches. That's almost a goal every other game, and that's the sort of example other youngsters should be following. Kakuta, Borini and Bruma have promise, yes, but they haven't done anything spectacular on the pitch. I want them to suceed as much as anyone else, but Sturridge's contribution has been more than satisfactory for a young forward in my view, and thats the sort of role the other young players should be playing.

  21. Joe hasn't showed anything close to consistency for a few years now. He has the odd good game but has an awful habit to drift out of matches. Malouda is no Lampard when it comes to putting in consistently good performances, but he's scored seven goals this season and is our top assists provider. That shows he's the player we should have in the team.
