  1. A few members of my family are Everton fans and slate him as lazy and disinterested. Every time I see him he hardly looks a step up on Drogba, let alone Costa. On this evidence José made the right decision.
  2. Rumours regarding a potential redevelopment of Stamford Bridge have begun to circulate after The Sunday Times reported that Chelsea are in talks with the RFU over a potential temporary move to Twickenham. Despite the 2015 Rugby Union World Cup meaning that any potential switch would be delayed until the 2016/17 season at the latest, Sky Sports have similarly reported that the Blues are seriously considering a substantial redevelopment of their Stamford Bridge home. An RFU spokesperson, commenting in The Sunday Times, said: "We are regularly contacted by a variety of organisations, within and outside sport, on a wide range of opportunities concerning the use of what we believe is a world-class stadium. "We have had an inquiry from Chelsea FC but have not had any discussions of any substance. "While we don't comment on any specific confidential conversations, each request is taken on its merit, assessing a variety of factors, such as the effect on the pitch, availability, transport and local considerations and other important implications". Football has never been played at Twickenham - which has a capacity of 82,000 - but the stadium has occasionally been used as a rugby league venue, and also hosted a number of concerts. Located a matter of miles away from Chelsea's home ground, Twickenham would be a viable alternative whilst Stamford Bridge is regenerated. As to how the Blues' stadium could be reconfigured to allow the desired 18,500-seat expansion to a capacity of 60,000 is yet unclear, though it is likely that any redevelopment would see the deconstruction of one - or perhaps both - of the hotels behind the Shed End to allow that stand to be rebuilt. In June, The Daily Mail reported a potential path to follow was the construction of decking over the District line railway that runs alongside Stamford Bridge - which in turn could lead to reduced pedestrian traffic on Fulham Road and nearby streets on matchdays. With the existing Battersea Power Station site a prime target for the Blues prior to its acquisition by Malaysian developers SP Setia and Sime Darby in 2012, it has become exceedingly clear that expansion of Chelsea's current home is perhaps the best route forward and these plans would suggest that. Of course, Chelsea Football Club was founded to play in Stamford Bridge, which has been in existence far longer than the club - that idea, then, to remain in the club's spiritual home is one that will prove popular amongst the Blues faithful.

  6. Chelsea maintained their three-point lead at the top of the Premier League thanks to a comfortable win over third-placed Aston Villa. Villa, who won at Anfield in their previous Premier League away game, fell behind just seven minutes into this encounter as Oscar followed in to convert from close range. Chelsea were made to work to extend their advantage, but the source of their second goal came as little surprise as Diego Costa continued his red-hot scoring streak with a header on the hour mark. And with ten minutes remaining, Willian netted a deserved third to rubber stamp Chelsea's superiority following a performance full of conviction and attacking flair. In manager José Mourinho's 250th game as Blues boss, the hosts came into this game in buoyant mood after disposing of Bolton Wanderers in the League Cup on Wednesday evening, and Oscar, the match-winner on that occasion, was quick to follow in Willian's shot after it was palmed away by Villa keeper Brad Guzan. Oscar threaded the ball beyond Guzan, still on the floor following that save, and Philipe Senderos, the former Arsenal defender, who was helpless to prevent the Blues taking an early lead. It was the Brazilian's second goal in as many games. The Brazilian later combined to tee up Cesc Fabregas, whose drive was fiercely-struck but wayward, before compatriot Costa headed a superb cross from Willian straight into the hands of Guzan in what was the home side's best opportunity to extend the lead. After the interval, Costa was again wasteful after good service from out wide - this time supplied by Branislav Ivanovic - as he failed to muster the requisite pace and direction to deceive Guzan. But it was a case of "third time lucky" for the former Atletico Madrid man, as he got on the end of Spain team-mate Cesar Azpilicueta's cross to put Chelsea firmly in control with half-an-hour remaining. Costa was instrumental in the third goal, also. After his excellent run produced a fine save out of Guzan, the ball fell to Willian who lashed home his first of the season to cap off an excellent individual performance. Chelsea turn their attentions back to the Champions League with a midweek trip to Lisbon next on the agenda, before they entertain Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, and they will go into these games bolstered by the confidence of a morale-boosting - and much-needed - clean sheet. Shut-outs have come at a premium for the Blues this season, no doubt a result of their devastating attacking performances, but this second clean sheet in three Premier League home games certainly highlights that Stamford Bridge has once again become the impregnable fortress it was in Mourinho's first spell. 7. Try resetting your browser, and deleting all the temporary internet files on your phone. Other than that there's little I can recommend!
  8. It definitely shouldn't be the sparkling one, that would insinuate he has a personality.
  9. My opinion - Courtois /> Cech, Cech /> Courtois. Both deserve game time.
  10. I love Big Mark but if Cech doesn't start I'll run down and bitchslap Mourinho
  11. Not quite as loud as this though: He barely even acknowledged the City fans. He refers to them as "the club" or "City", not as "we" or "us".
  12. Plenty of people have, such as Boshman and myself. We're awaiting your response in the City match thread.
  13. They are. It isn't the staff's fault the people criticising Frank - which they are entitled to do - are generally getting on the defensive and are resorting to insults. That being said both "factions" have done the same.
  14. You're proving again how ignorant you are by claiming I'm one of those people who thinks Frank is a fraud. I think he is our greatest-ever player and will love and respect him forever. My point was your blatant disrespectful towards our female members by claiming women know nothing about football. That's not very nice now, is it? I hope your comment was in jest because we don't tolerate xenophobic language of that sort on this forum.
  15. Your ignorance is outstanding... we have some female members on here, such as Kerry and Barbara to name but two, who're not only more knowledgeable about the game than you are (judging by your posts) but also can post on a forum with a bit of dignity and respect for other people and their opinions.
  16. You're not allowed to call him a Judas because you are fully aware of the potential flame war that sort of vitriol would evoke. BTW it's cute you've re-assumed your self-appointed title of "TC Legend" - we've been needing someone to spice things up since TOPTB was banned.
  17. The way he says "City" instead of "us" or "we" when describing the game today reaffirms he is Chelsea through and through. People who doubt that can fucking do one, as far as I'm concerned.
  18. He isn't bad looking at all, big nose though! Not a patch on my Carlo though:
  19. If it persists then I will act, rest assured. People who insult you rather than debate your point are either a: too lazy to explain their argument or, more usually, b: have realised you're right, they're wrong, and they feel a bit silly about it. Just ignore it.
  20. I saw you reported him, and I ignored the reports. If you find someone over the internet telling you to go and die offensive, then you must be incredibly thin-skinned! Lighten up, it's a football forum. People can very easily type things behind a keyboard they wouldn't dare say to your face. Just be the bigger person and ignore it. If we gave warnings out to everyone who called someone a cunt on here, there'd be no member without a warning to find!
