Dont get why we keep loaning with these fees. I severely doubt any reasonable top level club would pay 10.5m for Moses but we put it in the deal. Just fucking stupid he cost like 13m 7 years ago, just sell him at a loss for fuck sake. I mean if he keeps coming back alongside many others who arent at the level required and we keep this cycle of changing managers as we have done histroically under Roman, who review the players every time, whos the real losers here? Whos to say someone wont take a shining to him again. Just unload. Good god.

If he is done for rape, he should 100% be sacked. Really cant see how it would be a debate. Might ruffle a few feathers here but really do think if anyone disagrees they should take their head out of their arse. He will be lucky to avoid jail time yet alone not get sacked if this is true and he has done what they are reporting. If it turns out this is a money grab plot by the lassie though she should be ashamed of herself. These things do happen too it is scary what folk will do for attention. Regardless he will face some sort of disciplinary to say the least for even having a meet up during lockdown. Also people saying about Ronaldo and rape, jesus christ cmon, he was accused twice and cleared twice. I think the first one came out and said she lied and the second one he had basically given them access to everything they needed to determine if he did it or not and the allegations were dropped. Until all the details are out there and the case is build or ripped apart depending on whether its true or not they cannot be compared.

Surely not true? Why would Barca sign De Sciglio? He is so bang average. I would say hes much worse than Nelson Semedo too although he hasnt done well at Barca either. Madness. Plus they own Emerson who is at Betis and also another young guy who theyve loaned to Nice on top of Sergi Roberto. Seems ridiculous theyd take a RB.
-
Seen a stat poking fun at him. Arrests 1, PL goals 1. Fuck knows what happened or what he was thinking tbf inviting someone over to his home in this lockdown period in the first place. Or is England different to Scotland? I know there were rumors about them lifting certain restrictions for things but surely going over someones house to get a shag wasnt one 😂 There is a reason why people think footballers are thick, maybe its because they are? I mean thats Callum, Mason, Grealish and Kyle Walker that have all been in the paper since lockdown for breaching it or some sort of stupid thing (although Masons is hardly in the same ballpark as those 3 but was daft anyway). Be interesting to see what the clubs stance is and what other details emerge next few days.

Agree completely. Also Filipe Luis was never given a chance, which is a shame because he was the best all round LB in Europe the season before for Atletico. Looked such a typical Mourinho signing for me, even more so coming from Atletico, okay not the biggest physically but again not exactly a soft player and had real quality in both ends of the pitch. Ivanovic being played every week didnt help.
-
Must admit I am still surprised Sarri didnt use him as a CB. He looked very good in pre season, comfortable in playing out but Luiz and Rudiger were always gonna be his preferred pairing I felt. Again keeping Zouma was a surprise for me, I felt that Frank would of sold him and used Ethan but maybe he will next season. Or will find him another loan.
-
If the season ends he is undoubtedly our player of the year for me. Not even a debate. Everyone was so sceptical of signing him but he has been the standout player for us this season and his consistency is something else. Even more so compared to the flashes we would see last year followed by weeks of poor performances, which is even more frightening when you look at his performances this season.
-
We need to lower our asking price. Whos gonna be daft enough to pay 42m euros for him? PSG linked with Partley and Ndidi, both superior players to Baka, who okay they may cost slightly more but would be well worth it in terms of value for money. Specially Partley who has a 50m euros clause and really is a top midfielder.

Would agree with everything bar the dressing room poison. Bar that childish incident with Conte he has never had any incidents of it here or throughout his whole career and even when Barca came in for him he didnt kick up a fuss or miss training etc, he continued to train and play. These dressing room rumors are almost as daft as when fans were showing up to the bridge with signs saying Cesc, Costa and Hazard were rats that season Jose got sacked. If he was really a volatile character in the dressing room do you really think he would of lasted this long? I doubt theres any in that mould that has been in our squad in the last 10 seasons yet alone recently.
-
It is frightening but at the same time I think the way he can recieve the ball under pressure, carry it and his ability to create a yard or two of space is severely underappreicated. His end product and decisiveness in the final third isnt consistent enough though, which for an attacking player of his age where we have seen glimpses of what he can do, kind of highlights everything that is wrong with him going to a Real or Barca, I really cannot see it.
-
Vertonghen would I think. Especially playing out as well. His age does go against him though. Have the feeling Kurwaza will get picked up by a smaller club as bigger clubs will not be sure of him due to his recent seasons with PSG but he will suprise a lot of people, still a half decent player in there I feel, maybe not top top level though. Ben Foster is a good back up GK to have as well and Mertens adds experience to the frontline but isnt going to be a long term number 1 I dont feel. While they might bring experience I agree they wont necessarily improve us or if they do, they wont help attempt to close the gap.
-
We have very little chance of getting him if any at all as theres some sort of gentlemans agreement place with Inter that if they are open to selling/the player is open to going that they get first refusal, as well as the fact multiple sources have said that he has already agreed personal terms more or less. Barca want him and have a collection of players Inter like that they could offer such as Rakitic, Semedo and Umtiti to sweeten the deal. They also wanted Arthur but that was a no go apparently. I am 90% sure he will be a Barcelona player just like I am 90% sure Werner will be a Liverpool player. We need to wait and see but Martinez, Werner, even Sancho I imagine we will not be their first choices not by a longshot.
-
No manager of that style will last at Real Madrid. Guys who will be demanding or not be yes men, Zidane just strokes the players egos and he isnt very confrontational with their board amd president either I would imagine. Just look at Capello, he lasted 1 season each of his spells at Madrid. Its not just the players, its the board as well.
-
Its not as if Werner will be on the bench, would be daft to assume Werner would want to go there and sit on the bench. Firmino will drop in off the frontman and play as a 10 which is where he played in Germany and also has with the NT. It just means Klopp will have to sacrifice one of Wjinaldum, Henderson or Fabinho from his line up, most likely Wjinaldum whos had rumors around his future anyway.
-
They will lose money because of empty stadiums. The amount of merchandise etc too that will be sold on match days too theyll lose that because nobody will be going to games. Lets not forget for weeks they havent been playing, the tv havent been showing games so the clubs will have suffered. Also they've been paying players in full, as well as on reduced pay as well as maintaining the jobs of their other staff and it is quite plain and simple as not every PL club is owned by a Sheikh or a Russian multi billionaire so their will still be a lot who will stand to lose still without match day revenue, merchandise, even things such as stadium tours and whatever else they do etc to boost their incomes. Why do you think there is talk of only 3 PL clubs being able to go and spend in the transfer market this summer if it opens?
-
Great talent but one we would need to maybe give a season to get to grips with top end PL games. Technically he is excellent, has good mobility, likes to link the play and having seen him grow over his time at Celtic. He is starting to become more and more confident and ruthless as well that evolution is clear to see, he is Celtic's big game man. He would very much need to grow into the PL which is why I have said he would maybe have a season of inconsistencies but I do rate him as a more complete player and someone with much more potential than Tammy Abraham for sure. Moussa Dembele is 12 or 18 months ahead of Edoaurd in his developement but natural goalscorers are natural goalscorers.
-
Still think in the 2 seasons hes been at the club hes been good. He has had a bad period where he made mistakes/looked poor but Cech had that, Courtois had that.. Kepa wont be the last Chelsea GK to make mistakes. Also at other clubs Lloris had it, De Gea has had it, Ederson has had it.... Alisson if he hasnt will have a spell eventually. GKs make mistakes too.

Hudson-Odoi could be the key to unlock Chelsea’s Jadon Sancho pursuit
OneMoSalah replied to James's topic in Chelsea Articles
The only 'key' to our Sancho pursuit is depositing the fucking money in Dortmunds bank. I really really doubt Callum or Tammy being his mate will be a deciding factor, hes played with England at various age groups and the seniors so he will be mates with half of the countrys English PL players ffs around his age and the ones in the NT. Who writes this stuff and believes it? -
Nowhere near it. Even more so when you consider Liverpool will 90% sign Werner meaning they have him and Firmino then City have Aguero and Jesus. We need at least one CF of that ilk or standard if we are to try close the gap. Id only have Mertens if Giroud left as an option.
-
Think for the last year its been obvious he would only go to one of two places: Liverpool or Bayern. Sky Sports late as usual. Mertens primary position isnt right wing. Since Sarri was at Napoli he played as a forward and even Carlo played him upfront. Not sure about Gattuso but looking on whoscored most of his apperances this season have been as a forward as well. If Mertens is coming here it is as a forward because in terms of being creative, he is hardly an improvement on Willian or Pedro. He is a goalscorer.

I think City and Liverpool will continue to build even if they change managers. They have probably had the best recruitment in the last 3 or 4 years in the PL imo and thats not all just down to their managers. City's recruitment has been pretty good since under Mancini bar the few players like Javi Garcia etc that they got who were obviously second or third choice. Everytime they sign players they suit the managers idea of football to a tee. If they keep the two Spanish boys in suits at the club, theyll continue to build, they've overseen it from Pellegrini to Pep and I would imagine when Pep goes theyll get someone in a similar mould and carry on that way. Spurs might get set back but their squad needs a refresh anyway. You look at the age of key parts of their side, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Sissoko, Lloris, all aging and although it doesnt mean anything about their ability at present you could see from when the season started the whole team looked flat and thats dragged on. Arsenal have a soft center, as theyve always has but have got a chance if they give Arteta time. To say their young system isnt very good is a bit harsh when you consider Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah are all recent graduates and will become good players. Okay they arent maybe as highly regarded or their youth system might not have won the trophies ours has but I must admit I really like the look of Saka if I am honest he looks like he could be a top full back in a few seasons and also think Eddie Nketiah has the potential to be a very dangerous striker. There will be others in and around there and it would seem Arteta is commited to younger players if they impress him like Frank is. They do need to improve in other areas but I think Arteta, ironically, as inexperienced as he may be, can get them better. Theyve shown in spells in matches they can be very good. You are right though, its not always the big name players. Players who suit a system or the a style regardless of if their a player with a well renowned name or not are vital to a club progressing in a certain manner. I really do think Ziyech is a top signing in that regard. For that money as well, even more impressive. I would also suggest that we cannot just hang out coat on the academy crop for definite as a reason for competing for titles. You need to have the right mix and good pros and a top top players in and around them to bail them out at times or help their game come on and all the other things. I think it we can get another 3 or 4 players in who suit the team, are at a good level and those boys can take the neccessery steps as well as the guys who are already here like Ngolo, Jorginho, Mateo, Rudi, Andreas, Pulisic we can compete if we get more consistent. I know the gap looks very big and its always mentioned on sky etc but I would say, realistically, we are a top CF who can get 20-25 goals a season, another midfielder/wide player who can get 10+ goals and assists a season, a good left full back and good central defender off competing. We have the bones of a good team, consistency has been an issue, a lack of goals has also been an issue. If Willian and Pedro go, Ziyech wont be enough although he will probably better their numbers, we will need another wide player/attacking midfielder.

Some of his comments were interesting. 'I am not someone who gives pats on the back. I talk a lot about their mistakes and little about what is done well.' Personally think that this went against him with our players at times, although, for me, I think its kinda the right approach to have too especially the mistakes part. Mistakes happen and I still remember seeing Brendan Rodgers call Martin Skrtl "brave" or "courageous" for wanting to play out in a postmatch interview, after he played a short backpass to his GK which Carlos Tevez or whoever it was intercepted and then scored for City. I mean it was a blatent mistake. I get the principle of these managers like Sarri, Pep, Rodgers etc who have this style where they will make mistakes in playing out but just say it was a mistake, address it, rectify it and move on. Realistically how are teams going to improve if coaches dont talk more about mistakes or where they could improve rather than just focus on everything thats going well? Surely thats how teams and players become complacent? I dont think at a top club players should really be expecting to be praised the whole time when things are going well. Really it should be what is expected, what is demanded not only by the manager but the players themselves or so youd think in a dressing room with top professionals in it. Okay there is a time where the praise should perhaps be given etc but I wouldnt think many of these top top footballers play football for praise, they play to win and for the sheer enjoyment. I mean back in the day do you think Jose or Carlo would be blowing smoke up peoples arses for beating the likes of teams who finish between 8th and 20th? Or the likes of Sir Alex or a Capello or a Lippi or whoever?
-
Surely will be a 2 or 3 year contract? No way hes coming here ahead of all those clubs for 1 season, not a chance in hell... would say though good wee signing on a free.
-
Would it not just be easier to go for a striker? Especially when you consider Sanchos price tag seems a bit stupid paying over 100m to convert someone from a winger to a CF when it might not work...
-
Injruy prone? Cmon the guys had maybe 8 months where hes picked up wee niggling injuries, its hardly being injury prone. If he had been in and out the team for 18 months to 2 seasons I would see the point but its nowhere near that extreme as in half a season he still has over 20 appearances. As someone mentioned its more a positional/tactical issue than a personnel one. I dont think selling him for any price is a wise move, we have used 433, 4231 and 343 this season and he is capable of being very effective in at least 2 of those systems. Even with Sarri in a 3, in that right side he showed he is very capable so I dont think hes useless in that formation as you would think reading this thread and match day ones at times. Also players can have bad or poorer seasons to normal then bounce back as weve seen with Eden, Diego, Azpi, Matic, among others in recent times here. Perhaps but I dont think Lampard in 2010/11, even suffering from injuries would of been anywhere near the top of the list for going, although it was inevitable he would need replaced eventually as would others, as weve mentioned in the thread talking about the 1 year contract thing. Still remember the huge complaints when Villas-Boas had him out of the team as well the next season so I cant imagine that many were so willing for him to go. Maybe we arent in a position the win the league in the next season or two but again, the Kante level players are the type you need, guys who are world class. Even then with the correct recruitment theres no reason why we cant challenge, we have done it before. Yes City and Liverpool are ahead and their managers are much more experienced and better but again, a few top quality players in key positions to go with what we have, its not impossible. Plus Lampards objective over the duration of his contract has to be to compete/win the league, just like Sarri's would of been eventually and just like Conte's beforehand. I dont think selling Kante is going to help towards that. We may have coped in big games without him but for the Bayern game for instance do you not think we would of been a bit better and not got overrun as easily in MF with him, specially as we played 343? Or the 4-4 game with Ajax, I think we wouldnt have looked so open at times with him starting? Also his performance in the Super Cup which was arguably one of our best performances of the whole season and in Lampards reign, he was excellent I felt. Yes hes been up and down but so has the full team this year. I do not think there is one player except maybe Kovacic who you can say has played consistently well this season. I get the stats may look better with him out of the team than in it but I think its also very misleading to assume he isnt of any use here as we have seen we can go 433, 343 or 4231. Regarding Rooney, his situation was different to Kante because not only did his physical qualities deplete but the way he played changed heavily when they started playing him as a 10 and not a CF. Other than a shit run of wee niggling injuries, Kante is pretty much still playing the same way he did at Leicester and probably beforehand - but has improved with the ball. Also Rooney had basically been playing every week since he was 16, then from 18 to say when he was about 30 he was playing CL every season, went to more or less every World Cup, more or less every European Championships etc etc. For me theres no doubt that Rooneys case and Kantes are totally different. Rooney is probably more similar to Michael Owen in a way that he did so much so young that he was always going to burn out physically unless he went and did what Ronaldo did in terms of his training, preparation and managing himself to ensure he could play at that level for so long. Although Michael Owen was pretty fucked earlier in his career due to injuries. I think it is a tactical issue for sure that has affected Kantes performances this season although again there was the same complaints under Maurizio and he ended up upping his game and playing very good in that role he was in. I dont think we should just say lets sell him abroad because the fact Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are all credited heavily with an interest shows he has plenty to offer. I liked Conte's quote about being a tailor when he changed the teams shape in his first season here. I think we and Lampard has to 100% consider keeping Kante for that reason, he has shown he will mix it up tactically etc too. I dont think its exactly sentimental to want to keep arguably one of the best midfielders in the planet still.....
