Failing to win that match is simply unjustifiable. Ridiculous chance wasting and lack of confidence in the final third is painful to watch. Very clear in the last 15 mins that the players have in the back of their minds that a draw is enough. That said the performance was decent and the result not bad. The obvious huge positive is Matic's performance (and Jose actually subbing Cesc off!!)

Should have been 2 or 3 up in the opening 25 mins. Can't understand how we are not in front at the break. Hopefully we don't pay for the missed chances in the second half. Seriously?!
-
But what if the club catches wind of your position on the match and just cancel the whole thing?!
-
Again, he didn't single him out, he was asked about him. Seriously, just watch what he actually said. There is no remotely unbiased interpretation of that which suggests that he was singling him out. What he said is that the team as a whole is defending badly and conceding a lot of goals. So, to try to give the central midfielders an easier job so they are less likely to make mistakes and leave spaces in the middle, he decided to play Pedro who is obviously more solid defensively. I honestly can't see what the objection to that possibly is. I think every manager in the world would tell you that in times of crisis, first make sure you don't concede and stay solid defensively. That is always the basis to build on. It's also very clear from what he said that in normal situations where the team is performing normally he would not drop Hazard. Also no, he could not have played Hazard on the right. That is because we were playing Cesc in a more advanced role. However when we switch to defense, Fabregas does not have the pace to press along side the striker in our 4-4-2 shape which means that the right winger, in this case Willian, has to join Costa in pressing while Ramires covers the right wing and Fabregas steps back into central midfield. Hazard can't do that job.

How? You just said that there is no debate that Hazard deserves to be benched for one game. How is saying that since Hazard is not offering much in attack it is better to play someone who gives more in defense justifies a negative reaction. If anything, the quotes in context were more a critique of Baba's defensive abilities than Hazard's.

That's what happens when you read comments in papers. Because the papers job is to turn into any situation into a drama so you would buy more papers/click more links. The simple explanation would be that Jose was only asked about why Hazard was dropped and answered the question. It's really that simple. Also, if all of this is about comments Jose made, then
-
Can't for the life me understand what the fuss is about. You can't really argue that Hazard does not deserve to be dropped after his performances this season. And with us desperately needing some changes and to try new things it was always going to be inevitable.

Maths doesn't shape the universe. It's a just one lens of reasoning we see the universe through. Sure, the mathematical formulas and models we come up with are influenced by the universe around us but arguably the main factor remains the human brain and how it constructed to analyze the world and define 'logic'. There is no reason to believe that the universe is shaped by how we perceive it. In fact, there has never been any evidence that any being, human or not, can acquire any 'truth' about the universe.

It takes some getting used to (again) but I've found it to be quite refreshing Wait....so now @Jason is the most senior admin?! This place is shafted!

Glad to see you join the party, mate! Well hopefully the remaining staff heed that advice....before they delete those posts of course!
-
Can we discuss it on other platforms/sites or will you sue if anyone, god-forbid, discusses it on Twitter for example?! You don't get not to have anyone criticize you just because you say so! Moreover, if you didn't KNOW that your decision fully deserves criticism and as I called it in the post you deleted, "a fucking disgrace", you would not have wrote that. So from someone who used to help run this place and gains nor loses absolutely nothing from your decisions, my advice would be to take a long hard look at the staff decisions in recent weeks and where it is leading this place...
-
Well as someone who used to help run this place I never expected that the staff would have become so petty as to delete people's posts because they don't like them, without even explanation or notice. I don't at all recall that that was how we run the place...

What is there to explain? It's very basic: When dealing with complex numbers (that is numbers that have both a real and an imaginary component) you can represent them as vectors or points on the trigonometric circle because obviously any point will have a component on the real (cosine) and imaginary (sine) axis. This point will have an angle (call it Theta or Fy or whatever) whose sine will be equal to the imaginary component (divided by the magnitude) and the cosine to the real part. It can also be shown that this is equal to exponential of that angle (in radians) times 'i' (square root of minus 1).

You don't know that. Maybe the posts were deleted because we mentioned boxing in them and that boxing guy whose name I can't spell

 @, stop being a totalitarian cunt.

Just your average Ivanovic of the past two seasons, save the occasional goal. I'm not saying he was good, I've been saying he should not be a starting RB for a top team for years. I'm just saying that people are now scapegoating him for mistakes and flaws he always and made and had because the team is doing badly.
-
To be honest, if it were up to me, I'd start Zouma on the right and Iva centrally. But I know Jose would never do so. Iva has his very obvious faults and he did start the season in terrible form and has been targeted by almost every team we've played against this season, but I think his 'bad' performances have been greatly exaggerated especially in the past few weeks and he's being used as a scapegoat for an entire team that is under-performing. Honestly, since the Arsenal match Iva has not been any worse than how he's averagely performed at RB for the past couple of seasons.
-
Surely you don't give opportunities in crucial games! If we did not need Zouma at CB against Villa I would have been against starting Baba in such a must win game.
-
Obvious? To whom exactly? So far for us whenever he's been isolated 1vs1 he's done very well. I'd say our second best defender 1vs1 after Azpi.
-
2 months and a CL place would be gone and the board surely knows that. I think if we lose the next 2-3 matches, he's gone. I can't believe anyone who watches modern football still think it's about loyalty. It's about results.
-
That's a rather simplistic view of it. We're in a crisis right now we can't afford to be picky about it. Ideally in a situation like this you would go for defensive stability first and foremost and try to build on that rather than looking for extravagant football. Tbh, that's not the solution. No one in their right mind would choose that partnership for any top team. However that does seem to be our best bet at the moment given the lack of options.
-
Yes, obviously Baba offers more in attack (except obviously in set-pieces because Zouma is a beast in the air), but also very obviously Zouma offers more in defense where we've also been struggling a lot. From what I've seen from Baba he has far from inspired confidence on defense so far. I realize that there is obviously a valid argument for Baba over Zouma but I'm just saying it's no where near as obvious and unanimous as it is being made out. It's not about strength for strength's sake. We don't have the technical skills to dominate midfield with our passing and dribbling. In fact we've NEVER had that since even before Roman came. Instead we look to physically outperform our opponents. As for in defense, no matter how you put it there are very obvious advantages for height and strength.
-
Just one question: On what basis does everyone assume that Baba would have a better game at LB than Zouma at RB? That said, I really do hope that Baba starts as we'll be needing Zouma at CB.

Jeez. Talk about not giving the keeper a chance...swoosh!
