In truth he is most suitable for 4-3-3 because that gives him more freedom in the middle as well as more defensive cover with two other CMs beside him. You can see how comfortable he is in the games he played in the Carling cup.

I thought I'd move the discussion here: Although I am not totally convinced that Josh can't operate in the double pivot role along side a more defensive-minded midfielder, I believe that his best place to utilize his strengths is a bit further up the field in the CAM position. But I don't see that happening with the players we currently have in that role.

We have more than enough players for his role imo. For subs and smaller PL matches we'd be better off giving a chance for De Bruyne or Kakuta ( or Oscar if we sign him ) i.e. players that have a future at the club.

What's the point of paying his wages if he is very unlikely to contribute anything to the team? I would much rather give that spot on the bench to one of our talented youngsters.
