I hate it when terms from other sports are used in football. What exactly do you mean by play maker? We have a hand full of players that can create chances and "make play": Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Luiz, Lampard, KDB..etc and they can all be part of the team and create play. Why should we choose one?

Having the right to rape is implausible but having the right to kill is? What's hard to understand about having the right to own guns is that guns are used to kill and commit crimes. Having guns makes robberies much easier; it makes murder easy and accessible to everyone. What's very hard for me to understand is that having the right to own guns makes it possible for a psychopath to walk into a school and shoot 50+ kids. And you, your son, your niece, your sister, your mother; anyone could be one of those victims. I can never understand how you can be okay with that. So basically, guns harm other people, which breaks the definition of a personal right because your rights and freedom stop at the rights and freedom and others (eg. you have the freedom and right to listen to music, but that right ends when the music gets loud enough to upset your neighbor who has the right for peace and quite). Oh, and there is absolutely no logical connection what so ever between making guns illegal and "the government owning everything and everyone". On any account, I am not an American citizen and I am likely to never set foot in the US, so there really isn't any reason for us to continue this discussion.

Lmaooo Glad you're okay, bro. Thankfully there were no causalities, I heard?

How did you know?! If there were a female copy of myself, I would honestly not marry me!

Virtual hugs are way better than the real things!

Mark Twain's "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". Rereading it actually. Forgot what a brilliant book it is.
-
Hey, I'm an introvert. Where's my hug?

Amen to that although it is only natural. No theory can fit all the cases. All scientists should know that.

I got to a thread that tries to explain how the moon is just a optical illusion created by the reflection of the sun light off the sides of the huge "Snowball" that the earth and sun are apparently in. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go jump off the building roof..

Good. So you there is absolutely nothing stopping you from sleeping with your hot sister Kidding, of course.

Ah yes, I've read about this before. But like I said, the mechanism speaks about avoidance of people who you spend your early life with.
-
You mean people are attracted to people with different traits and characters to them. That is completely different. We cannot be attracted to people with different DNA simply because we can't tell what their DNA is without scientific experiments. And even that is not entirely true. If you are a very organized person, it is less likely that you find someone who is messy attractive. On any account, the theory that Tom is referring to (Westermarck Mechanism) states that you have a mechanism in your brain that makes you not get attracted to people who you spend a lot of your early life with.

Yes in Islam, Jueses is a prophet called "Issa". Though they don't believe he is a God or that he was resurrected. Tbh, my point was never whether or not it is literal, just that a lot of people think so, so it is part of society regardless if right or wrong. Really? It is very well know facts. It was in the middle ages, or as they are often call the "Dark Ages" when the church said that the earth is flat and that all the planets and sun revolve around the earth and imprisoned and killed many scientists who said otherwise. Most famously the killing Giordano Bruno and the torture of Gallileo.

How about this finish:
-
First a small note: Adam and Eve(Hawwa in Arabic) are common between Islam and Christianity. They are mentioned in the Qura'an. I do no wish to turn this debate into a Religion vs Atheism pointless discussion. All I was saying is that incest is mentioned in some religions. The story of Adam and Eve is true to millions of Muslima and Christian creationists, so incest is part of it. But if you are trying to argue that the church does not make mistakes and change its views on scientific matters then I'm afraid that that ship has long sailed my friend. Just think of the hundreds of scientists who were killed by the church for saying that the earth is round. If it is any consolation to you, it is possible that is not what God meant and that the church, who are mortals after all, interpreted it wrong. Yes, I understood that concept from the link you posted in the previous page. But that is a possibility and not necessarily true. Is it a fact that there is a gene for the avoidance of incest? And of course there is an evolutionary reason to avoid homosexuality. Homosexuals obviously have no offsprings, so if everything is due only to natural selection, then only heterosexuals should still exist now.
-
Btw, incest is legal in Israel. Only country in Asia.
-
It only became "allegory" after evolution became a scientific fact. It was taken very literally past. In fact, it is STILL taken very literally by most Muslims.
-
I'm not saying that humanity started from Adam and Eve! LOL Just that it is present in various religions, meaning it was part of society. It was present in most documented ancient societies including many famous plays from Ancient Greek. I think it much more common than you think. There are tons of people who would argue for the legalization of consensual incest in a lot of countries in western Europe. It is even legal in several like Netherlands, France, Spain and Russia. So it is no way comparable to cannibalism. But let me ask you a different question: Do you think that homosexual avoidance is also an evolutionary self-defense mechanism?

A few others are: Dani Alves, Materazi, Totti, Ferdinand (both of them), Yaya Toure... -
I'll read that later. But how can it be a taboo due to evolution when it was common practice a mere few thousand years ago? Very much documented in ancient Greece and Egypt. It is part of many ancient religions. Even Christianity, if humanity started from Adam and Eve having sex and kids, then how did all the human race expand if those kids didn't have sex with each other or with their parents? Even in today's societies, it is too common to be taboo by human nature/instinct.
-
He was probably just considered for the job but I highly doubt that they actually offered him the job and he turned it down.
-
Well it's taboo so a part of you will like the idea. It's just a matter of what wins: The part of your brain telling you to obey morals or the rebellious side of your character that wants tells you that breaking norms is cool. For me it's probably the first. I was raised in an eastern society. Morals are a huge thing here. It's matter of moral norms, you can't tackle it logically.
