They are hardly minor tweaks because the wingers are the most important part of the attack in Mourinho's teams. Moses fits indeed. But Hazard, despite his improvement, would be out of place in Jose's style of play. And I'm not just talking about defending but also pace and the ability to play on the counter. If Jose does come and is given control on transfers, I see at least one of Mata/Hazard/Oscar leaving and us buying a winger in the mold of Duff/Robben/Cole/Pandev/Di Maria..etc

Rafa has to realize that is John Terry. He plays through injuries for a living!

People are judging Shaw on a couple of good performances. Right now I would take Bertrand over him in heart beat because we know he is solid in the back and that is the first thing you want from your LB. Sure Shaw has shown he can help on the attack, but has his defensive resolve been truly tested? I said this in the transfer section, Shaw is a good prospect that we should monitor until at least the end of next season when I believe Cole will be gone. Then we would have seen enough of him to make decision.

Like I said, I don't want to bring the argument in the Mourinho thread here and turn this thread about Jose alone. But regarding the style, Mourinho plays counter attacking football, he has always done so. All his teams defend first. He utilizes attackers who are very hard working and with explosive pace. That is not the case with the likes of Mata, Oscar and Hazard who thrive on possession and do little on the defense (granted they have improved immensely under Rafa). To borrow from SeB, our current team is bunch of ball "wankers".

Fair point, but if no permanent solution is available, I can't think of anyone better to take the helm for a season or two.

It is surprising that he always chooses to cut inside. He has shown that he is capable of producing good crosses. You'd think the manager would tell him just that.
-
Why the F*ck is he in the side?

Atm I can't think past Torres. -
He was one of our better players yesterday. He is so much better at LB.
-
Had a good first half but was terrible in the second, kept making bad decision after the other. Trying too hard may be. I think he should start against Brentford. Give a him a run of games to see if he improves.

The man is multimillionaire, I'm sure he can buy a house in Manchester if he wants to I was convinced we'll go for Hidink too before we were interested in AVB, but why would he be a step back now?

But will we even consider him? He's not exactly a top manager, and his abysmal record in Europe will definitely be a turn off for Roman. Don't want to drag the argument in the Mourinho thread here, but in all honesty, if I were Mourinho, I'd chose city in heart beat. There he will have more security, more control, and arguably better funding. It's actually not a media story but direct real quotes from him. He said that he won't leave Dortmund and that Chelsea and Real shouldn't bother going after him. He has never left a team of his before his contract expired. You can definitely rule him out of the equation. I would love Hidink. He's a proven world-class manager. My only concern (the same goes for Mourinho, btw) is that I am not sure that our current players fit his style of play.

Give Azpi, Mata and Lamps a rest. Ba will definitely starts. Marin had a good first half yesterday, but was terrible in the second. I say we start him again, in this one. Give him a run of games to see if he improves.

Good to meet you Taylor. Hope you're enjoying TC
-
Let's just say he passed back to the Sparta defense almost every time he got the ball, a couple of his shots went out for throw ins, and he even tackled Marin when he found himself in a bit of space. Unfortunately, he couldn't do anything to prevent Oscar's goal.

Good analysis, but how likely are we of getting any of those managers? Klopp and Low have no reason to leave their current posts, Moyes isn't likely to be even considered by RA, Mourinho won't come back unless he works out his issues with RA, and Mancini is...well, Mancini. I think it is much more likely that Roman maybe convinces Guus to change his mind about retiring or bring someone like Pelligrini in.

Gael threw his future down the drain with his own hands. We we gave a lot of chances even though we had other youngster who were much more deserving of them. We still haven't sold him. I expect Piazon to get at least the same amount of chances before being shipped off.
-
I am not trying to be funny, I am not even exaggerating: We are better off having 10 men on the field rather than having Torres with a performance similar to today. That is my honest opinion.
-
I nodded off for about 5 mins in the middle of the second half. I'm not even joking!
-
We won't give them Piazon permanently. We're already advertising him as the next Kaka. He is the most famous of our youngsters. Gourlay must realize his advertisement value.

Yeah, why would Malaga want someone to warm their bench as part of some Isco deal?
-
Yes, but it is also much much less than he would get at a championship side. The question anyone is yet to answer convincingly is, why Malaga?
-
But that's it, he doesn't have a chance to play week-in week-out. He's not even third choice for the left wing there. He'll get as much game time as Josh got at Swansea last season.

Someone's been practicing his rape face with Dave! Is it me is the time for the match on the website wrong?

Relax people, this is just like in December when everyone was saying we agreed a deal for Falcao to come in in Jan. It is total bullshit. Mark my words: I don't think we will be signing Falcao and I don't even think he will leave Madrid in the summer.
-
I would love for him to start today. Give Lamps a rest.
